BizzyB wrote in slack some days ago that bizzyb [12:13 PM] I've popped into Bittrex support and dm'd bittrex-bill to let him know we're still here, active and no need to delist us https://muecoin.slack.com/archives/general/p1477304015002131So Bittrex is informed, I hope that this will be enough for the time being. I know that the dev and project team are struggling in the background to get things ready for the X11 transition. They are delayed and missed the time goal that was previously set, but the optimism is there are they are pushing for a beta-release as soon as possible. It is planned to give out a new project update and present some more details and time frames in the coming day/days from what was written in the slack channel.

Meanwhile . . .
a bunch of Australian crypto geeks called 'IndiaMikeZulu' is ante-ing up here to help develop DASH. Okay, we do hold a bunch of other cryptos (who doesn't).
We've pretty carefully worked over the list of dark coins. I personally really like the dual-send function, the focus on solving the governance thang, and the community's development energy (which has slipped so badly in so many coins).
We like kittens, P2P trades, bullion, blues music, and cold cold stout. If you're also Australian, we're always up to trade stuff for cryptos (and we've been supporting Living Room of Satoshi since they opened).
Mark and Ian and 'Sabretooth,' Western Australia
Hey IMZ, remember you from CGB way back when. Glad to see you again and a warm welcome to Dash!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What benefits your favorit altcoin have to BTC?
|

Hello!
Why are you using the altcoin that you are currently using?
What benefits do an altcoin have compared to BTC?
I wonder why we would like to have altcoins when we have BTC already.
Many so called alt coins are like a testbed for implementing new ideas and trying things out instead of playing with the Bitcoin network. Personally I like Dash with its governing model and instant confirmations (~1.5 sec). I have used both BTC and Dash for buying things online, but BTC is still the most adopted in the tiny world of cryptocurrency payments. In a year things might be different as Dash is going towards a Paypal like platform, so we might see a major uptake in merchant adoption. In my opinion, the main problem with Bitcoin is how hard it is to reach consensus in terms of development and implementation. SegWit looks like it could help solve some scaling problems that the network is facing, but what good does it do if 95% of the network cannot agree to use this or not. Dash solves these problems by letting the larger stake holders cast a vote and decide the direction of the network, providing guidance for the lead developers as what to implement and how to build the Dash network.

Baikal mini miner, mining Quark at ~151.8 MH/s using 24.9 W from the wall. Temp of miner 26 C.
Time since restart, about 5 minutes.
awesome ... how do the other algos compare? ... my assumption that the similar hashrates will cause increases ( and decreases ) in power consumption depending on the algo used - may not be unfounded ... do you mind testing the other algos for 7minutes at a time and taking measurements also? ... tanx ... #crysx Maybe user I will write the results here.
can help out, I don't have the time just right now. But as the stats show on Baikals website, the different algos give about 150 MH/s each, but with various wattage draws. Ranging from Quark as the lowest (~25W) to X15 as the highest (~48W), which is pretty much to be expected.

Could I mine with Baikal Mini Miner ?
Yep on this chain and the new when it ready i got 3 on it now thanks Paul Could you tell me the settings for Baikal pls ? MonetaryUnit is more profitable than DASH. In the web config for the baikal miner, just point it to a pool (stratum+tcp://stratum.weminemue.com:3033) and have the algorithm set to quark. Add a valid MUE address as a username and you're good to go! Please see here for some for info: http://www.weminemue.com/getting_startedThat's perfect. My miner will be received in 3 days. I also have watt meters. I will try and write the results here. that would be VERY much appreciated ... these results are the real-world results ... i know this much - if the hashrate is to remain the same across the board on these miners - there would theoretically be a difference in power usage depending on which algo is mined ... this is what i am after - NOT that the miner does 15-mh per algo ... i actually dont really care too much about that - i need to know what the power usage will be for each algo used - so that it can be determined as to how many miners can be used - running the different algos ... this information will be very important and would be appreciated ... even if its sent via pm - as this may be a little off topic ... i would like to see mue stay on quark - but that is my lone opinion from many that want to see it go to x11 ... #crysx For your information Crysx, Mue will be transitioning to X11 as soon as possible, as it will be relaunched based on Dash code with all kinds of MUE tweaks and adjustments. I'll see about adding a wattage meter to my miner just for the fun of it.

Here's their product specs: http://baikalminer.com/ShowProducts.asp?id=466I don't have any watt meters connected but I am positive that the wattage is as they have described per the datasheet. I am currently mining Quark but aim at switching to X11 again once MUE goes over to X11. I was mining Dash previously, but I was getting 1 dash every 4 days or so before I switched. I would think that mining Dash today would give maybe one Dash a week?

I'm going to lobby for this proposal once again, because I really think merchant integration should be a priority, and this one project, Odoo (a full ERP merchant/manufacturing/any type of business solution that millions use all over the world) is a no-brainer. Please vote yes on this project. Yes it is expensive, but it is very involved to fully integrate Dash as a payment option along side fiat and credit cards. But the result will be seamless. Seamless accounting, inventory assessment, etc... https://www.dashcentral.org/p/OdooDASHCryptoModuleI agree that the intigration to odoo would be something nice. But i can't support that proposal, from a software developer perspective that proposal does not sound that much as a no brainer ! If someone is charging about 70 $ an hour i will not accept something as: "It will generate the QR using the libraries of JS it will show the price on the same screen from the order. This transaction will need to become instantsend for each functionality be efficient on the retail store. 30 hours" * using a jsLib to show a QR code = 1 hour max * showing something on the order screen = 2 hours max (after that work is already almost accounted for with the pre tasks - 5 hours for countdown shown on screen and so on ..) * This transaction will need to become instantsend for each functionality be efficient on the retail store. = hey lets use the word instantsend to justify some working hours ! (That instantsend work has been already made with dashsoda machine, no need to reinvent the wheel here) so again 27 hours for this? no way, and it is not even describing anything its just using some key words as instantsend .... And so on ... In other words its an absolute no go to charge 70 $ an hour and then describe one point of the tasks with 30 hours as implement some jsLib to get a qr code, get it on the page, and yeah also use instasend for the transaction to make it useful. -> you will describe that last part, that instantsend part, whats to do there, why 30 hours, you won't talk about using a jsLib for an QR code, what should take someone 10 min max... I also question that this proposal was not thought out well. Check out the comments on Dashcentral where they first said the blockchain and node traffic would be on the machine, but later changed to have it on a separate server after I indicated how much bandwidth and CPU it would use. I am A OK with making changes, but this proposal looks like it was a blink guess. The initial proposal didn't have InstantSend and I discussed in detail what InstantSend was and how and why it should be added. Clearly, anyone attempting to make a proposal to use Dash technology should actually do some effort to understand it first. The right way to do this, is to make a similar setup. Maybe not on an Odoo. Then show us that and how you will convert it to Odoo or finish it. Or maybe look at the the Blockpay Odoo Dash code and add InstantSend. Maybe then you will see that you are almost done in only 5 hrs and not ask for a 6 month proposal. Thanks a bunch for your valuable input people! Especially those who have experience with programming and system integrations that can determine the proposals that have been laid out. As I do not have this knowledge, it helps a ton in how to proceed with voting on all kinds of matters. Thank you for the insights!
