2  Economy / Lending / Re: Really need 1BTC, will pay 10% interest over 3 months on: March 01, 2014, 07:53:10 AM
I sold my car and put everything I had into Bitcoin. I had heard about Bitcoin a few times over the years but didn't seriously look into it until 2013 and started buying in late 2013.
Why did I buy Bitcoin? I believed Bitcoin has the potential to make the world a better place. Having experienced the slow decline of my family's business through agreements causing our customers to move overseas and then being hit by the 2008 financial crisis I no longer had any faith in our government or financial system. I wanted Bitcoin to succeed and so I did what I could to be involved and use it where I could.
That was all alright, I would be able to blame myself and feel horrible but not like I do now. The thing was that I convinced some of my family to invest as well. And I kept it all in my mtgox account. I know my parents have read about the news, and I have been avoiding them for the past few days. I just don't now what to do. I know that this could really break up myself from my family, I've seen stuff like it happen to others. I really have nothing right now to give them.

If I could have a loan for at least some of the money that was theirs, I think I could maintain their trust.

I know that what I did was stupid, and I really am worried about my future will be like without my family and without a way to support myself. What is the point of it?

Sorry for your troubles but if you have "been into bitcoin", how did you not know Gox was a walking dead man?

I don't know, I was stupid. I heard about these things but I guess I just bought into the misconception that they were too big to fail

I got this from a friend. Its a really cool little miner but I need some quick coin. Asking 3 coins. Free shipping for US buyers.

Okay, so 3 litecoins for that...I'll take it

Seriously though, you can get these for 2.19 btc new and even then it isn't a great investment

I have read through some of your competition threads and, whilst there have been some teething problems,  it appears you have tried to rectify them. I am willing to give you a chance, I will lend you 0.05 BTC if you repay 0.06 BTC in 24 hours.

Edit: If you are happy to proceed can you please provide your wallet address.
Sorry for the late response...I should be online most of today though.
Thanks so much, my address is 1fGKTCR6L4tsgiQ1m4nHFgU6rzWoSRqc8, please give me yours if you are using an online wallet or I will just return it to the address that sent it
EDIT: Never mind, I see you have your address in your profile...Didn't know you could put it there

Done.  0.05 BTC sent.

My sending and receiving wallet address is in my signature. Thanks.

Oh look, it's the raffle scammer looking for a loan. Surprise surprise!

Also, here are links to my more recent, very tiny, giveaways

Thanks to everyone who helped with this, I implemented a much better system in my next raffle because of it

I made a stupid mistake on the first raffles and was late to do the drawing, but please read the ends of the threads linked to by the post that you linked to...I held the drawing and added a bit more to the prize to make up for it
That was a stupid, idiotic mistake but I really think that I did make it right. In my next raffle I used a provably fair system and requested that all entrants give me negative feedback if I didn't post the winner within 5 minutes of the drawing time (actually when the next BTC block after 5 O'clock was mined, this was used for the provably fair system)

15  Economy / Lending / Requesting any loan amount for 24hrs max with 10% interest on: June 07, 2013, 09:12:33 AM
Hello,
I would really like to build a reputation for trading on this forum, and while I don't need the money of this loan, I think that this is as good a way as any to build a trading reputation, and I do have an idea for a website/service (pm me for details if you want) which I would need a loan to take off the ground, but I know that there is no way anyone would lend me a substantial amount of money right off the bat . So whatever anyone is willing to lend me (I doubt that it will be very much), I'll return with 10% interest as soon as see that I have received it,

Yes, I did read that sticky thread at the top, and about the part that says
Quote
Never show you don't care about the loan you're requesting. "I just want this so I can build confidence, and it's only 2BTC" is a great way to show you don't really give a damn about the loan.

Well, I don't know how to respond as, honestly, I don't really care about the money of the loan, (or else it would be stupid to have a 24hr loan)

Thanks for reading and please ask me anything about this

36 doesn't even follow the rule. It's both divisible by 3, AND has a square root that is a whole number.
I screwed up, please read my above post
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First to guess my number wins 0.005btc on: June 07, 2013, 01:16:19 AM
No, sorry
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First to guess my number wins 0.005btc on: June 07, 2013, 01:14:32 AM
Wait, crap, 36 wasn't the answer, sorry...okay, the answer was 39, I'm sorry...I'm going to come up with a new rule and number

Indian Giver ??

I confused 36 and 39, but I'll send you 0.005 anyway
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First to guess my number wins 0.005btc on: June 07, 2013, 01:13:48 AM
Sorry, I got 36 and 39 messed up. The new rule is a number that has a prime square root
