1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO/AIRDROP][RAVE] Ravelous - The Crypto Ecommerce Marketplace on: September 10, 2018, 01:45:52 PM
I have thoroughly analysed this coin. This is why the coin is promising:

- Developer holds a sufficient amount of coins. Holding a humble amount of coins is wonderful, it will be a help in times of need.
- Developer is nice, polite, hard working, neatly follows his appointments.
- Developer is innovative!
- Developer is honest about working with new people, to get this coin going.
- Project can have a high return for early investors!
- Coin will go up very fast within 1 month!
- Developer is very transparant with all of this work.
- The roadmap looks promising. Exchanges, Coinmarketcap, Website will all contribute to the enormous value of this coin!

Lol, the coin is dead wow

The project is still ongoing, I just been busy with the grind of personal life. Since the ICO didn't provide what we needed to quickly start building out the marketplace, things have been paced differently on the timeline, but essentially the same workflow.

If you would like to help with the project, let me know Smiley

Feels like a pump and dump coin with lots of promises. Dev just wants to get rid of coins.

This user is also a spam/fud bot:

They copy and pasted this same response into another project before pasting this here.

To any actual users and holder of RAVE, we do want to address this if its a concern of yours.

There is very little incentive for our team to sell RAVE coins in exchanges.
In our whitepaper, it explains that the marketplace and team profits from sales on the platform, and when selling rave direct to customers on the site.

You can always actively view Rave/transactions In our Etherscan Explorer

Updates:
We are now listed on Idex, Acceleratorx & Forkdelta exchanges.
We have signed up for several new exchanges and will update everyone as we get more information

Our Crowdsale is officially over  Cool
We did not raise as much as we had planned for our crowdsale.
We believe that the cause is not spending the required time and resources on:
- PR sites/Crypto News Sites
- Getting Listed on ICO sites
Providing Enough information about our Team in BitcoinTalk from the start, and marketing/advertising much earlier in the start of our ICO than we did.

The good news is that the project will continue to move forward  Smiley

The bulk of the crowdsale funding was meant to support the Treasury to give us a good base floor for the price of each RAVE that we back fast-track our progress and speed on the project.

The better news is that during this fundraising time, we have built up a great community of holders who believe in this project, and have helped us have over 9800 Holders of RAVE tokens.

Question For The Community:
The crowdsale (50 million tokens) was also meant to solve the problem token distribution (to remove fears of PnDs).
In our whitepaper, we said that whatever remained would go back to the treasury, but since so little has been purchased, we want to hear from you.

Should we:

A) Keep it in the treasury as written
B) Use the Tokens to Create more Bounties, Contests, & Airdrop opportunities?

This coins has no volume at all. Just pump and dump, with fake news, fake hype, and deceptive promises.

So looking through your post history, you are also copying and pasting the similar FUD responses:
RickJansen Post History:

We only recently were listed on new exchanges, but we are still a relatively new project.
Building up interest and market demand for the coin takes time, but we are more than ready for the challenge.  Smiley

is the airdrop still open?

The airdrop has been closed, but we are interested in providing more opportunities soon.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: Study says being rich is determined by chance rather than intelligence or talent on: March 04, 2018, 03:51:58 PM
There are several methods to obtain wealth.

Luck is a factor, but there are millions of people who had a lucky opportunity, but turned it down, or could not seize it because they were unprepared.

Here Are several traits that can make you a fortune:

- Burning Desire (To keep you chugging along at the goal even in dark times)

- Willingness to Experiment & FAIL (Fall flat on your face 1000 times and still keep trying)

- Being Open to Ideas and people (Becoming an eternal student of life - everyone has something they can teach you - to follow or not to follow)

- Think Differently - Society pressures people towards conformity, but it often rewards ideas that are better than or different from their competitors.

- Build Your Ideas of What's Possible (Reading/listening to Autobiographies and topics on the subject you want to go into - the mind is a black box, give it some good material to work with; it will produce better ideas.)

- Working on Yourself (Business is mostly about managing your own psychology - Your personal vices and life problems will show up in your business if you do not work on them and let other people help you)

Finally, while LUCK may come at random, VALUE, RISK & TIME are CONSTANTS.

You can always make more money, but we can never make more time.

All the wealthy people have the same 24 Hours as you do, but time is their employee.

Method 1: The Investors Way:
You sell your time for money (salary/hourly).
They invest their money using time itself to earn more. (whether that's in stocks, bonds, crypto or business ventures)

This requires the willingness to fail, and to learn from others and your own mistakes over time.
Investing in good ventures is a skill that can be learned, and if you pursue it like that, the money follows.

More Info on this: The Richest Man in Babylon (Book/Audiobook)

Method 2: The Savers Way:
If you want no risk, you'll have to be young and put it into smart retirement accounts that compound over time. The cost from you is not being smart, but being consistent in your payments over time.

Also follow the GOOD Policy: Get Out Of Debt, and Stay Out Of Debt.

More Info on this: Dave Ramsey (Books/Talk Show)

Method 3: Value & Risk (The Entrepreneurs Way)

Usually ventures with the most risk tend to have the most value. (Crypto's volatile market versus stock trading's 1% highs and lows)

While people cannot create more time, they can create more value to the marketplace.

Rather than teachers giving a lesson to a group of 30 people, that same teacher can give the lesson on Youtube or UDACITY and teach thousands.
If they decide to charge money, they will probably end up with way more money than they could ever get from teaching the class one time to 30 people, because of the value they provided.

More Info on This: The Millionaire Fastlane / Think and Grow Rich / Who Moved My Cheese (Book/Audiobook)

Final Thoughts:

Thoughts alone will not make you wealthy. School should have taught you that.
Its the application of what you've learned over time, that will bring the wealth that you desire.

- Scientists spend years trying to prove their theories.
- Academics and Smart people have to get out of their heads and work with other kinds of people to have their ideas realized.
- Actors still have to learn their lines and look the part. (Peak performance fitness, clothing, marketing their brands)
- Early Employees at the leading brands had to believe in a mission more than their paycheck (Early Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Apple)
- Tech people who seemed to have wealth overnight, spent years of their lives giving up the time to learn to code, tinker with scripts and solve problems through critical thinking.
- People born into wealth have to be taught to preserve wealth, trust carefully, find real friends (who do not want something from you), not become a target of social games, and not get into destructive habits.

Sometimes people have to prep thousands of hours and several years for that one moment of opportunity that you guys call "Luck".
When these prepared people see it, they recognize the chance and latch onto it with all the strength in their bodies (they bet their lives on it).

The unprepared with the same exact opportunities watch them ascend to fame and fortune and merely scratch their heads and wonder when will luck finally smile favorably on them.....

If you feel that the door to wealth is closed to you, KICK IT DOWN.
Make your luck, be the hero of your own story (not a side character).

The project is interesting, but there are questions: how will the issues of delivery of goods, disputes between the buyer and the seller, how will the issue of return of goods be solved? I would like to get more information about the team. Good luck to the team and the project.

Good Questions  Smiley

Seller disputes and customer returns vary on a case by case basis.

While there are traditional ways to handle this, we are researching better methods (community based, bot-assisted, arbitration systems) or a mix of them that can scale with marketplace demand.

Delivery services are more of a matter of business partnerships, to secure better rates for volume shipping and more.
Our solutions to both of these issues will be tested and improved upon once we release our beta version of the platform. (Roadmap: April 2018)

More information about our team has been recently added to the original post, and we will provide more as the project progresses.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why the hell people invest in coins with a huge supply. on: February 26, 2018, 06:09:52 PM
Yen and Euros have quite a large supply in circulation.

What matters most are how well is the currency distributed among others.
What you can buy or sell with it, and if it will be honored as payment.

For IOTA, I know that the currency will only be as good as the partnerships that they acquire to get manufacturers to use IOTA as payment between machines.

There are millions of machines being used everyday (IOT Devices, Amazon Alexa, Google Mini, Smartphones, Tablets, Refrigerators, Lights, ETC) that can benefit from this method of payment between services.

If your refrigerator comes with A Built-In Repair Insurance in the form of IOTA, The Refridgerator can pay for its own repair service, or reorder food from instacart/amazon key without you being involved.

Your Self Driving Car, can pay the dealership mechanic for any maintenance issues, Pick up more fuel/Recharge and park itself in your garage, while you nap.

Instead of fumbling around for quarters at parking meters and at toll lines, you zip right through because your car makes the payments.

Digital currency can enable alot of interesting scenarios, and you will want to be holding alot of it, before it comes.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More and more airdrop is a lie, on: February 26, 2018, 05:56:03 PM
Airdrops are expensive and costly on the team side.

We recently did an airdrop for ravelous and sent out coins to over 9400+ users.

There were thousands of duplicates/people using other peoples info that we had to parse through. (~11k applications had been filled)
Lastly, The cost per TX on ethereum for sending out coins adds up.

We created a custom smart contract to send coins out to 80 users at a time saving us ALOT of money on gas per transaction.
Even so, we had to run the airdrop deliveries in batches of 1 gwei (at night so that they would go through the network) and the process took days and cost us a couple hundred dollars.

If we had tried to run this same process at a higher gas price (2 gwei or more) or tried to send them out one by one to each user we it would have costs us a fortune for this "Free airdrop".
15  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is there a site like ebay that accepts bitcoins? on: February 25, 2018, 08:51:40 AM
We are currently working on an ebay like solution for cryptocurrency that also aims to solve most of the issues around volatile profits for sellers.

Our Latest Update: RAVE tokens are now listed on ForkDelta Exchange!

ForkDelta is a better-managed fork of EtherDelta, that uses the same order book + updates to Etherdelta's main code to provide a better user experience.

One of the Team members have been associated with 2 old crypto scams. I wouldn't want to take the risk to invest in this coin anymore.

I would advise people take extreme caution with this coin.

Dev just comes on page, shares a story like months in a row with no value, then leaves, it doesn't even talk normal to us. Like we are his pawns or summing.

EDIT: I had first written a thoughtful response to both of these claims, as well as messaged this person via PM to look more into the team member accusation to make sure that there was no one on our team who might be involved in something like that.

When checking this user's post history, I noticed that they seemed to post the EXACT same Claims on other Projects between minutes of each other, leading me to believe that this is a FUD/Spam account.

This should be interesting in concept but I'm really sure how this thing would work out. Anything is possible though. I believe in this project mostly because they already have what to show their investors.

I'm glad to hear that you find the project interesting Smiley
We are working to bring it beyond a vague concept, and make it a utility for cryptocurrency in general, that others model themselves after so that there are many ecommerce platforms for crypto.

Final Note:
We have not been posting updates as regularly as needed. What we have been doing is steadily working on the project, applying to exchanges and doing the groundwork that's needed to make this project a success.

This is a community effort, and our team is made up of people from BitcoinTalk and other Crypto communities. We are currently more staffed on the development side and need help with community outreach and marketing.

If you, or anyone you know would be interested in joining the team to help with that, check out the team bounty, or send us a private message.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Virtual Money? on: February 20, 2018, 07:06:15 PM
The next stage of the web, is using programmable money to create and sustain
distributed systems, like the ethereum smart-contract system. Crypto allows us to build
utilities on the web, that can pay for their own continuance through cryptocurrency.

Fixed value currency changes how we use it. There will not be anymore bitcoins
printed, which changes the way they are spent in the marketplace.

We recreated the scarcity of rare gems and metals, while giving them a verifiable limit
that cannot be counterfeited, or inflated by printing more ad infinitum.

Crypto has removed the concept of trust away from authorized people and
organizations to the solid principles of mathematics and decentralized consensus.

This creates a true market.

A market that is not held captive to the borders of physical money and its limitations.
A true market, that allows buyers and sellers to transfer value to whatever is valuable
and whoever provides the best service, in a trustless and secure way.

Incentives can be tied to data-backed metrics and distributed globally on the basis of
performance, instead of personal bias, or nepotism.

Removing money from the sole arbitration of human beings frees us from the
limitations of our own perceptions and projections of other people, cultures, countries
and beliefs.
