Yes, it is legit. My SP10 is by far my favorite miner, and I have rigs from 5 different manufacturers. Legit and extremely loud if you are in Canada I'm trying to get rid of mine since I cant tolerate living with this noise. It is louder than my 21 Antminer S1's combined. |

Thanks. I will look for a drop and order again. I was able to set up some at my friends office. I think I can run 4 at his place with under volt and down clock . I can get 600 gh and 800 watts. He shares a building 4 ways and splits the power bill 4 ways. so I am getting power at 4 cents a k watt in his place vs 16 cents in my home. my limit would be 4 units in his office but at 4 cents a k watt I smell roi. That's a nice price for electricity if you can get it. What would be even better would be if the S2 came down to a more realistic price of 2 to 2.5 BTC - then we could all save on elecricity bills... well diff jumped to 10.455 from 8.853 that is 18% jump maybe they will do a good price adjustment. Ya me waiting for prices drop some coz now Diff hi up 18% but btc rates also so up BTC is actually back down  |

Not anymore. That 10% was mainly for the GB. bobsag3 has the right idea really, build your own, forget about all that raised floor, hot/cold aisles, 47U APC racks, redundant diesel generators etc etc. This bitcoin stuff is short term. You just need a well ventilated warehouse with decent aircon and flow. Get industrial shelving to put the miners on and make sure you have enough electricity to keep it going.
Exactly. You not only don't need uninterruptible power, you'll be better of buying cheap, explicitly interruptible power from the utility company using special industrial/agricultural/pumping tariffs. I even dare to say that air-conditioning is an overkill, good airflow (which for SP10 means getting rid of the cases) and maybe cheap, evaporative cooling will be good enough. Get a small UPS to have a continuous network connection just for the local switches/routers and security cameras. Or just admit to yourself that you've got your Bitcoin mining hardware as a status symbol. Let's get an Iceland colocation company to have a special room for bitcoin mining with these attributes. Nothing fancy. Power and good airflow is all that we need. We have a large swamp cooler + passive/active exhausts installed, gives us more than enough cooling capacity for even the hottest days. My prices aint bad either, and this machines are lonely  What are your rates? I have to host or sell this thing, the noise is f'ing ridiculous! Big time buyers remorse |

You having it at your place or you have it hosted? [/quote] That was after an hour. Pretty sure I have the latest firmware, dont want to run the beta one. Today was our first hot day and it hit 30.5C outside. Ill see how things go overnight when it cools off. Was hoping not to have to build a box around them with AC but looking like the best option now. Its usually not that hot here, passive cooling had been working good when the ambient temp was lower. |

Got the call from Fedex today! Item has arrived and in the process of clearing customs. I had to fill out the Power of Attorney form and pay $421.46 in taxes, no duty. Pretty impressed considering I ordered the miner before bed on Tuesday and should be picking it up from the depot later this afternoon. Thanks Spoondoolies and Road Stress for a great group buy  I have never had to pay taxes before. Sounds like DHL might be better than FedEx. I gave FedEx my info yesterday and they called today and told me I needed to fill out some forms. Power of Attorney, really??? Taxes?  UPS or DHL all the way. Screw FedEx. it just depends on where you are in the world. each courier has to act according to the law of the land. I'm in the UK and i've never had a problem with DHL... but I do believe they are seriously lacking in the US... I think it all rests on the governing body where you reside. Well, my location hasn't changed but UPS and DHL have delivered tens of thousands of dollars of stuff to me from China. I have NEVER had to pay duties or taxes. NEVER had to fill out of power of attorney. NEVER. If FedEx wants that, they can send my package right back to Israel and we can have UPS or DHL do it. I always thought tax was normal to pay on imported items unless it is a gift. All of my S1's from Bitmain required me to pay $20-$30 per miner for tax using UPS. Spoondoolies doesn't lie on the invoice so I had to pay tax on the $2900. Was happy there was no duty. |
