3 or 4 years ago there was an open source exchange project, maybe called peatio or something like that.
At least two years ago there was some guy who on his own made blaketrader which was an automatic exchange for Blake coins.
There are several white label exchange sellers whose product is probably cheaper than the listing fee for some exchanges.
Who knows what the best answer is, but huntercoin is not some shitcoin that just popped up. It is one of the oldest and most original coins, aside from namecoin the first real innovation. How it can't have it's own exchange I don't know.

There are two different purposes for an exchange.
1) Speculative trading. This is necessary to bubble up the price of a coin but most speculators are not coin users.
2) Buying coins for use.
An exchange that relies on volume, i.e., most exchanges, don't make it easy for somebody who just wants coins to get started.
Shapeshift type exchanges are much more suitable for growing a coin at low level.
Poloniex makes sure there is liquidity at a high level. The main thing that is missing is not that high level liquidity but low level shapeshift.io type availability so a person who has no interest in exchanges, nor even in crypto, can just buy huc to play.

Maybe things are quiet now. Here is general advice.
1) Anybody can work on any coin, market it, make a website whatever. But the most basic common courtesy is to respect devs who are already working on the coin. Once you decide to go against original devs you have to state clearly that you are hijacking the coin, starting a hostile takeover, so things are clear.
2) Photon was made by Cinnamon Carter as a continuation of the Blake coins made by Bluedragon. Bluedragon and Cinnamon both have posted enough of their philosophies that it is clear they don't do scams. Obviously they have to eat and need money, so safe guess they will cooperate with legitimate improvements that add value to the coin though.
3) A lot of new people in crypto have the idea that they can just get a bunch of people, and if they get enough people or power they can hijack a coin and make themselves big boys. Coins, for the most part, are made by people who are sharp enough that they work on their own by choice. People whose first inclination is to form a group to get power are usually younger types with less experience and more prone to mistakes.
Photon, and the other Blake coins are probably pretty solid long term. They have been around a while and when cryptoblastoff occurs they should do well.
These coins are not btc or ltc. They are not even especially unique. Their value right now is probably about reasonable, until work is done to improve them or improve the Blake ecosystem.
Anybody who has an idea to improve the coins could post, then be patient and get opinions. The game thing is slow to develop but there are a lot of new things that can be done with coins that nobody has thought of yet. All somebody has to do is find some entirely new idea that isn't a bullshit rehash of other ideas, and if the idea is presented well and fits into this coin it could be a rocket. If nobody at this coin sees your idea like you then take it to a different coin and try. Photon has a better history than most coins, it has impressive distribution on the exchange and will probably do okay if people don't thrash it with fake pumps.

People are talking a lot of money for regular exchanges when in 6 months or a year a substantial percentage of trading is going to be on decentralized exchanges.
It would be great to get huntercoin on other exchanges, but a budget common sense approach would be register huntercoin.exchange at 1and1.com and put software for a decentralized exchange on it, maybe charge a tiny fee to cover hosting. In fact within a year huntercoin.org will probably have a page to trade other coins for huc.

The old kittehcoin has more computers on it's network than a lot of coins that are listed. Why is the old fork still so active? The lynx website obviously is done well, very competently designed, but should have some new ideas. The big issue with coin s seems to be scalability and speed. If a coin can say it has the fastest block time and enough blocks per hour that scalability won't come up for a while, it could get a lot of use soon. Also there is a strong appeal of multi algorhythm coins like myriad, digital coin etc. Adding that feature might make it more secure and would make it more popular. As for real innovations I have a bunch of this coin so I hope somebody figures out a good idea. |

if the community votes it deleted, it will be, as for me, I hope not, as it is quarks history worts and all If it were real community the other thread would have been left unlocked and people would have a choice where to post. Now somebody will give the stale response 'well, start your own thread' which is obviously pointless. I bought quark at the beginning, kept it through the conflicts etc, but a moderated thread is the one sure sign of a toxic community. All coins are going up now but it is hard to wish well on those that choose to limit opposing views, even if they pretend to be protecting people from bad opinions or fud or whatever. Sorry you are incorrect some of the very best projects are moderated to keep divs away who seek to ruin it for everyone else with groundless shit that has been disproven 1000x Voice your views but if they are disproven then stop voicing bullshit that is proven to be just that.So its simple say what you want so long as you bring evidence or corroborating events to back it up or have it dismissed as junk and leave it at that. Some people are not willing to abide by those reasonable rules so must be moderated out. However over moderation is sign of a scam so needs to be reasonable moderation too else it is indeed sign of scam or wrong doing. My only observation was that the thread was moderated, I never had an interest in the other issues people raised about quark.I am convinced the thread is moderated. Do you attack everybody who does not support moderated threads? Or you just delete their comments? |

Instead of ico why not just put a series of sell walls on Poloniex, give the ico fees to them and then ready to get past funding part.

Ok folks...sorry ive been quiet and all...spending the last 5 months in disaster zones has been a unique journey in and of itself...Mazacoin Cares is remaining here in Puerto Rico working on pilot programs to help rebuild and enhance the islands economic infrastructure...including using Maza as a means of payment for volunteers to cover gas...food..and personal items while they donate their time to the clinic and get it up and running smoothly...

I hope that really is Payu, and it will be great news if you are back, but... Until and unless guruvan / owlhooter and or other older profiles verify that this profile is being used by Payu, people should be skeptical. Midas11 you seem to have got left holding a bunch of this coin. This coin started with both a premine and an ico, yet offered absolutely nothing new. It simply copied everything and then the dev stopped doing any work, even basic updates. You should learn from your mistake and put your energy into a coin that offers something, anything. There are still a lot of small cap coins with some new features or at least updated wallets that would benefit from your marketing effort. It's good to see somebody do the work of making a website on their own, but a shame the effort is wasted on an ico premine coin that does not even have any features. Hey Franz, I picked os76 because of the extreme low supply, so far since making the site the price has moved p from 200s to 500 sats. I believe this coin being a pure collecting coin, not a platform has great opportunity for rare coin collectors. With the ultralow supply of less than 900thousand IMO this will continue to move up as coins are collected and removed from an already low supply. Also with so many coins making huge promises and massive feature lists,this pure collecting coin appeals to me. I also like feature laden platform coins like waves, btc, etc. but Im also a fan of rare coins. If you have another rare coin you think I should check out please let me know. thanks I have tried a few 'rare coins' like this, and will give you my experience. What invariably happens is that as the coin picks up in value somebody hits it with a 51% attack. This has happened to so many small coins, and so many people who put everything into only one coin have been wiped out, that at the very least a person should own at least one coin on a secure Network so they can recover when their prize coins get hit by a 51% attack. If you can secure the Network it might be an okay coin. |

One big issue is that English has too many words that mean the exact same thing rather than enough words that mean something new.

Soil kind of highlighted the development funding issue.
The original Dev is unusually smart, especially with regard to crypto, but has as I recall a lot of health issues. If finances had been better my guess is he or she would have stuck with the coin. Now, a rising tide is lifting all cryptos and even with no developer and no work most small coins will have million dollar market caps soon.
Would be nice to keep this coin alive and if spinttt can do some work maybe others can too and perhaps abhivael will start posting those long philosophical meanderings mixed with tales of medicinal woe cured by marijuana and lots of ideas of how crypto can help the progressive economy.

this link from coinmarketcap.com doesn't show any fiat market. it is only showing a couple of altcoins which are being traded with bitcoin and the prices look normal to me. i didn't check every single one but the tip ones like ETH and LTC seem normal. checking the website of it also shows the same thing. they also have some fiat market which coinmarketcap doesn't list. i couldn't figure out what currency it is because it was called "QQC" and i can not find what it stands for. and the price was 81,000 QQC which doesn't match anything like CNY, JPY or RUR. Going to the exchange tab of coinmarketcap Bitcoin, then clicking on Price to sort by price, it does show a lot of prices in terms of altcoins rather than Fiat, I guess it is mostly accurate though. If it lists for example a high USD value for btc in a btc\ltc market, ltc is large and liquid enough that it should be close, but odd small coins I guess not.
