3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin not legal tender in Canada on: January 18, 2014, 09:47:08 PM
Another falsehood that the suggested FBI action to auction off their seized Bitcoins makes it legally recognized somehow.  This is no different from them selling off a car, house, boat, painting or anything else seized, they are simply selling an asset.

I don't see this as a "falsehood"!

The Govt does NOT auction off pot, counterfeits, forgeries, fake goods, ETC.

They ONLY auction articles that ARE LEGAL.

so IF they do auction any BTC's they ARE setting up a precedent for recognizing them AS a LEGAL product (by their existence, not necessarily ever use of them)
no,if any, the precedent they are setting is, they are not illegal.
as above, unless legislated against, everything is legal.
selling pot (in most places) fakes forgeries are already accepted as illegitimate.

1.For my country

Why? You like made up lines on maps? Accidental history? Tribalism?

Life is the only thing worth giving your life for - and the irony of that fact is wasted on all of us.

by your reckoning,  double your investment... thats not good?
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: $100 coming next week on: December 07, 2013, 09:02:20 PM
12m+ coins even at 1k USD is still chicken feed in the global market and just as susceptible to pump+dump as any other cryto.
only time and an expanded market will give us a stable value of coins, until then its gonna be a rollercoaster

Not according to the police. To the police high power usage means you must be growing pot and they can get a warrant on that basis alone. Buy cold pills and starter fluid in the same month you are looking at a visit by the police too. We don't live in a free country anymore. Its a police state. Anyone that doesn't see it is naive.
in the uk a spike in usage will trigger someone in a hi-viz vest turning up unannouced with a heat reading camera at your property. the energy companies are compelled by laww to highlight these spikes . if the local police decide to kick down your door looking for weed and find your overclocked asics, good lucking trying to get any comp for your downtime. your average plod is, lets face facts, thick as sh1t

Q. How long will my miner take to ship A. 5-7 Worldwide normally
5-7 what?

"There is currently a 11 day wait"
even if the 5 to 7 is "days", how can you do that with an 11 day wait??

"we have little time for technical support"
surprise surprise

The US has not been attacked since Pearl Harbor

16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: living With Terrorism on: June 07, 2013, 07:42:51 PM
elwar, completely get where you coming from. the media, esp the tabs love to have stories of why we're constantly under threat, and should batten down the hatches, when the reality of sudden death is usually caused by cars/tobacco/alcohol. that of course doesnt make good press.
i do however think you are underestimating the threat the uk has had historically. certainly at the height of the ira, it was weekly across many parts of , primarily, england. maybe not on the scale of 7/7 or anywhere near 9/11, but it was a constant threat.

pac1> given youre need to express support for fallen soldiers, did you make the helpforheroes rally last weekend??   i hope this discussion has at least nudged you towards supporting the causes you believe in, rather than political movements who will milk your fears.

Terrorfakt makes great music. so does tError and the whole terrorcore sceneoid.
I have no tolerance for religious violence, state sanctioned or otherwise.
England is reaping what it has sown, not to imply that violence is just.
when you say england , do you mean the uk? thats a can of worms for another thread!
without doubt the british govt has much blood on its hands over the years, and a certain amount of backlash has, and will for a long time be experienced.
my point was, as a country england has experienced terrorism (semidomestic and otherwise) for the best part of a hundred years. Im not try to justify either sides positions or actions, simply the populace reaction was completely different based on a differing history. Until very recently terrorism was a big part of daily life  esp in london.
I hope everyone would agree that history shows us that any violence doesnt solve problems in the long run

as these guys are local to me, i feel obliged to check them out further even if they wont f2f.
He even links to his own facebook account so you can check him out - hes very proud of his 13 y.o citreon you know! Im sure the cash he makes from miners will allow him to upgrade to a 2001 wrx and go "CRUISIN"  Shocked

Where did you spot this?

simply googled the company name, and the facebook page had the same name and address of the whois entry for their website. he also mentions asictech and how he makes miners, so im pretty sure its the same fellow. The granton area of edinburgh is hardly the nicest, exactly the kind of place youd find guys selling 1990s adsl modems as hitech.

EDIT: Just to clear up, we are talking about scotland (in summer), so deiced'ing may well be a factor before ordering

I've experienced 2 terrorist attacks first hand
The Warrington IRA attack and the Manchester bombing.
As I remember it, people just carried on with their lives as normal.
Terrorism is a minor thing that affects a few people (not being disrespectful to those people directly affected) - to obsess over it just ruins life for everyone and is a victory for the terrorists.
dcupid, similar experiences:
ive had 2 too,was in london for the 7/7 attack, and was in the us for  9/11. keep calm and carry on versus public hysteria, thats my recolection of the 2 events. however extremism in whatever guise cannot be alowed to govern how we live our lives
