1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform on: December 04, 2018, 07:54:07 AM
how should i update my rig AMD driver?
i see the driver is 17.5
but the latest driver is 18.3

The easy way is to download fresh Hive version and set up from scratch.

there is no command like nvidia for AMD?

i want to try this
Code:
For AMD
tar -Jxvf amdgpu-pro-XXXX.tar.xz
cd amdgpu-pro-XXXX
./amdgpu-pro-install -y
dpkg -l amdgpu-pro
To install new amd driver you need to unisntall previous one, please run “amdgpu-pro-uninstall”.
Please unpack currently installed driver tar.gz to /var/opt/amdgpu-pro-local then “amdgpu-pro-uninstall” will work.
It was removed to save space.

Please follow this thread

So you have to give more details about the bios  Hynix is not enough.
It can be a 256mb or 512mb Bios and different memory (Some GPU have two memory type and some 3)

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: October 23, 2018, 03:56:43 AM
After 2-3 days experimenting, I can say that there are enough alternatives to Claymore's miner. With xmrig, xmr-stack and especially SRB I can achieve stable 450-500 h/s for tahiti 280 cards, 715-750 h/s for hawaii 390, and 910-930 for polaris 570 and 580 cards (with the usual bios mod and overclock as for ethereum). I don't need Claymore' s eth miner anymore also. Xmr is more profitable than eth, and with the coming reduction of the eth reward the minig of eth will be near its end. Thanks to Claymore for all his job so far, but it is time to move on!  Wink

I liked Claymore because you got that remote manager which shows you all the GPU temps and hashrates. And with XMR-STAK it doesn't work. You need to either monitor on the pool or monitor by the HTTP interface. You also can't remotely execute a reboot.bat file.

Yes XMR is more profitable but pretty soon people will discover this and switch over and the profitabililty will be the same between both based on the same power consumption. Just give it a few more weeks.

I will say less than a week... XMR difficulty go down just after the Fork but it is increasing very fast.

ETH reward (fork) gonna be in 2019. They tried on tesnet but without succes.

You can add coins in HiveOS from the WebGUI and add Custom miner
https://forum.hiveos.farm/t/custom-miner-integration/4521

So you can add any coins and miner (Linux support) on HiveOS

I am experiencing update bug with last few HIVE versions. Few days after Telegram notification I am unable to update. The update button is highglighted but after depressing it shows "you have the latest version" and do nothing. It is a bit annoying just before today's Monero fork.
Please look into it.

Do you still have this problem?
Try to connect to your rig using SSH and run command: selfupgrade

I still have the problem. The rig wan't update to .79 even after .80 is announced
I'll run selfupgrade and report results.

The rig went offline. No connection for 5 minutes, going to perform hardware reboot.

Base on my experience if you still have the problem after reboot, better to reinstall HiveOS, maybe corrupt upgrade...

After hardware reboot 0.5-80 version is reported, rig working properly so far. The only drawback is that "selfupgrade succsessful" message was lost.

Cool.
Have a good mining  Grin

I saw, that HiveOs was able to support mixed AMD and Nvidia setups.

I have a asrock H110 motherboard and I want to mix 5 1080 TI with 4 RX580 and 2 RX570.

What should I do?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

It will work nicely.

Depending of what you want to mine, but you can configure 2 different miner if you want (1 AMD and 1 NVIDIA).
You can also OC both Nvidia and AMD in the same OC profile.

please cek your rig .other guy change your flightsheet to this wallet

Do not forward SSH access to your RIG from internet.
And change password on hiveOS

Do you have a specific guide on how to set OC?
It is much easier with Windows since you can watch memory errors in HWinfo, but you can watch for GPU errors and stability in Linux and change the memory OC depend on this.

Mattthev Yes for best Mod Bios OC Windows is better but HiveOS is not bad at all.
GPU error can be found in GUI so it is possible to modify OC to find the weak spot of the GPU and find the best OC settings.
Wow nice. I didn't know that Hive OS have memory errors report.

No Memory erros but error related to "reject share" + Claymore error when you OC a little bit to much. So it help but not like in Windows

Hello.

I have the same issue.
How this problem can it be resolve?
I don't have hiveOS, but you shouldn't be using iGPU, it cause lot of troubles but mainly for Windows.

IGPU should be turn off in Bios.
Have you set GEN 2 in PCIE Bios settings?
