Ripple to Penetrate China’s Billion Dollar Market, Confirms Executive & Mercury FX

Ripple is definitely planning to target China’s billion-dollar payments market as confirmed by its executive. Now, with Mercury FX planning to test payments into China and Mexico with Ripple, the company seems all set to transform the international payments space.

According to the Market News section of the Mercury FX, an international payments specialist is planning to test payments into China and Mexico with Ripple sharing,

“Mercury will be testing payments into China and Mexico with Ripple and we’re most excited about the potential to bring currently unconnected markets into the fast lane of global finance.  Allowing people access to the international markets will create new markets and allow those currently without access to begin to trade with the global financial community and monetize their goods and services.”

Mercury is planning to leverage the blockchain technology and “disrupt the traditional fiat payment networks.” The company is pursuing a “symbiosis of fiat and crypto payments to advance, accelerate and streamline international financial flows.”

The company is extremely crypto and blockchain favorable as it states,

“We believe that the more established blockchains will eventually replace the SWIFT network alongside other frankly clunky payments networks. Cryptos will be used as a conduit to replace fiat eventually.”

Mercury has been working with Ripple for quite some time as in April this year, it conducted a pilot with xRapid and have been planning further future developments.

Всемирный банк намерен выпустить облигации на блокчейн-базе Ethereum. Как сообщила 13 августа организация, ее партнером выступит крупный финансовый конгломерат Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Новый тип долгового инструмента называется bond-i. Это будут первые в мире облигации, созданные, размещенные, передаваемые и управляемые на протяжении всего его жизненного цикла при помощи технологии распределенного реестра.

Торговля ценными бумагами будет изначально осуществляться в тестовом режиме на специальной блокчейн-платформе, управляемой Всемирным банком и CBA.

Tether Adds $50 Mln More in Tokens Despite Losing $300 Mln in Market Capital



Tether, the controversial stable coin that has been pegged to the price of the US dollar, has released a new batch of tokens worth $50 mln. This follows on from March where they released $300 mln tokens priced at $1 each.

However, despite being a stable coin tied to an asset like the dollar, Tether has lost over $300 mln in the past 30 days as its market capitalization has gone from $2.7 bln to $2.4 bln.

Controversial coin

Tether has had a rocky road since its inception as, being based on the US dollar, the understanding is for every coin that is issued, the company must hold in its reserves equal value in US dollars.

The issue is, despite its controversy, and the fact that there has not been any sort of strong and independent audit on their claims, Tether has become a pivotal source of liquidity for the crypto markets.

Tether is now in second place after Bitcoin in terms of highest daily trading volumes, seeing $4.2 bln in trades a day or 28.58 percent of all crypto trades, while Bitcoin’s average 24-hour trading volume is $5.7 bln or 39.22 percent.

But the allegations are that exchanges have been issuing more tokens than there are US dollars in the bank which could lead to a massive collapse seeing as these Tether tokens are being used to buy other cryptocurrencies which are being turned into fiat.

Requiring an audit

One of the reasons that the coin has lost value in terms of its market cap has to do with the coverage in the media that Tether was receiving. Tether said it couldn't get enough of media reporting because of suspicious and controversial nature.

However, after being accused of "lack of transparency" by the public, a law firm said in an unofficial statement in June that USDT is backed with legitimate US dollars.

Транзакции Litecoin (LTC) теперь доступны через зашифрованное приложение Telegram, заявил основатель Litecoin Чарли Ли в твиттере, 9 августа.

Новая Litecoin функция Lite.im была разработана при запуске блокчейн стартапа Zulu Republic. Фирма разрабатывает децентрализованные приложения (DApps) и «представляет собой экосистему цифровых платформ, построенных на блокчейне Ethereum (ETH)».

Согласно сообщению блога Zulu, новая функция Litecoin позволит пользователям использовать сервисы Litecoin с текстовыми запросами через базовую систему LTC API Zulu. Компания подчеркнула, что данные приватного ключа не управляются компанией, а вместо этого обеспечены шифрованием RSA и личным паролем пользователя.

Cryptocurrency remains thinly traded, mostly in east Asia, and the value of all so-called “alt-coins,” like Ripple, remain correlated with that of Bitcoin itself.



As this was written, Bitcoin still represented 48.6% of the total market. It is the strongest of all the crypto-coins, by far. The total value of Ripple, $14.4 billion, is a little more than 10% of Bitcoin’s valuation, $114.3 billion.

Until Bitcoin stabilizes, none of the other alt-coins, including Ripple, will be able to find stability, and it is stability that is necessary for Ripple to become a medium of exchange rather than a mere speculative asset.

If Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE), owners of the New York Stock Exchange, can’t create stability in the Bitcoin market — and the price of Bitcoin has fallen over 10% since they announced their interest in that  — it’s hard to see any alt-coin, including Ripple, finding the stability it seeks.
