401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CryptoNight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return on: June 18, 2018, 08:01:53 AM
I wonder why no one mentioned Worktips coin yet  Angry Angry

ANN THREAD - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3086019.0
WEBSITE - http://worktips.info/

It's a great cn-lite v1 coin for small miners, community growing every day, great devs.
I mined it a few months back when the only pool available was their official one. At that time they had a lot of issues with their pool in the sens that it was banning you after a a few days for some weird reasons.
So, decided not to add it here until they fix their pool issues.

Are you mining it right now? Have you had any issues with it recently?
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: June 15, 2018, 02:20:36 PM
Maybe the fact the isn't listed yet on Coinbase helped? They just made an announcement and we're in a downfall market (I could say bear by downfall is more realistic hahahah)
Oh... I see. I need to check my sources  Shocked

I think I was mislead by some other post here that was saying it was already listed and took it for granted.

Thanks for correcting my error, I'll be sure to double check my sources first next time.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CryptoNight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return on: June 15, 2018, 07:42:03 AM
thanks bro. I mining BBS coin with hashrate 150h/s
Glad to hear that Smiley Be sure to also check the other coins listed on the first post in this thread.

I'm currently mining it too, let's hope it will increase in price as the coin develops and expands it's user base.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Exploring the Threadripper 2 and its mining capabilities on: June 14, 2018, 02:59:26 PM
If it has a large enough cache it should beat a Vega for mining Cryptonight.  If it has enough cache to use 50% of it's threads it ought to do somewhere close to 2400 hashrate in XMR stak. That's based on 4 R7 1700X or 2700X hashrate since this is essentially 4 of those "glued" together via infinity fabric. I think the biggest issue that we just don't know yet is if it will have 4x the L3 cache or if it will be less.
Yeah, I agree, having a larger cache will indeed increase the hash rates but I wonder if there will be enough cache or not.

I see there's an article here: http://www.legitreviews.com/mining-amd-ryzen-threadripper-1950x-processor-nicehash_202416 and the 16 core threadripper was getting 1.33 KH/s. So, if they just double the number of cores/cache then we should see 2.66 KH/s for it and like you said it would surpass the 1.8-2 KH/s hashing power delivered by the Vega GPU's.

Good news but I see the new trend in mining is using FPGAs. They will dwarf any CPU.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: June 14, 2018, 11:38:47 AM
as fast we got +20  % as fast we just lost it.
I think we just witnessed the rise & fall of Ethereum Classic in just two days  Roll Eyes

I was expecting more volume and a sustained price increase after the listing on Coinbase but it seems it was more of a pump & dump than anything else.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CryptoNight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return on: June 14, 2018, 11:30:35 AM
I've added a new coin that can be mined using your average CPU called BLOC.

BLOC is a CryptoNight-Heavy coin that can bring you 0.9 tokens/day while using a hash rate of about 150 h/s.

I've also added in their official pool: bloc-mining.us

Happy mining Wink
407  Local / Discutii Servicii / Re: Kraken exchange on: June 14, 2018, 08:52:52 AM
Salutare tuturor!

Multumesc!
Confirm asta am facut si eu ieri. Am trasferat de pe Revolut Euro pe Bitstamp Euro (SEPA) ieri in jurul orei 15:30 si azi la 11:30 au aparut in cont la Bitstamp, fara niciun fel de comision Smiley
Probabil daca faci transferul asta dimineata ajunge in aceasi zi pe Bitstamp.

Aici trebuie urmarit care are comision mic.

It would be nice if you guys could also post official news about the coins where they're saying they forked to be ASIC resistant.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CryptoNight] Forked coins, ASIC resistance and current algorithms on: June 13, 2018, 08:52:48 AM
GRAFT - ASIC resistant - CN-v7
Yes, indeed GRAFT has forked to be ASIC resistant in April, added it to the list.
I found a reference to those news but I kind of had to dig for it a bit: https://www.graft.network/2018/04/17/graft-network-node-update-1-1-2-block-64445/

SARONITE - ASIC resistant - CN-heavy
Added SARONITE too, they seem to be pro ANTI-ASIC and will continue to do so. Here's the official news about it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4004235.0/

SUMO forked back to ASIC-friendly and a fork coin name RYO remain CN-heavy
Yes, you are correct, sadly, they reverted to classic CryptoNight. Here's the news about it: https://medium.com/sumokoin/back-to-classic-cryptonight-f58815b48573
SUMO removed from the list. Added RYO - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4413010.0
410  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New biggest crash since 2013? on: June 13, 2018, 08:29:53 AM
Yes, the market will bounce back, don't you worry about that Smiley

This year is more like 2015 or 2016 with a lot ups and downs and the price remaining relatively constant.

So, if you're hoping for increases like you've seen at the end of 2017, you can forget about it Wink
411  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: risk in hodling and trading strategy on: June 13, 2018, 08:27:54 AM
Yes, I agree, there a few risks involved in buying and just holding coins.

I think you always need to be involved and follow the news about the coins you bought to know exactly where the price will go in the near future.

The average lifetime of coins is about 1.5 years, you need to make sure you're holding the correct coins at the right time.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is ETH will hit 400$ on: June 13, 2018, 08:22:26 AM
It certainly looks like it at this time. I don't see any indicators that say it will switch to a bull trend just yet. As usual, you should follow the news closely.

I would say this bear trend will continue for a couple weeks and I think ETH will go under $400.
413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Need money... on: June 13, 2018, 08:19:40 AM
The market at this point is still at a turning point so, you can't tell yet if the trend will switch to a bull or continue on a bear trend.

Usually this is always true when Bitcoin reaches it's support price of ~6k. In theory, it should bounce back from this low but you can't tell for sure yet.

If I was in your situation, I would wait 15 days and see what happens.
414  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold & Silver are safe than bank deposits ?? on: June 13, 2018, 08:09:41 AM
Profit for gold and silver for year 2018 is 8%

Profit for gold and silver for year 2019 is 16%
I wonder how you got the profit numbers for 2018 & 2019? Isn't this calculated at the end of each year based on the price fluctuations of these commodities?

The thing about gold/silver is that it's not as easy to sell at a good price as you may think. Moreover the commissions for exchanging these are usually higher than you would expect.
415  Local / Discutii Servicii / Re: Kraken exchange on: June 12, 2018, 02:10:50 PM

417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CryptoNight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return on: June 12, 2018, 09:06:58 AM
I have added a new coin to the first page of this thread called: BBS Coin.

This is a CryptoNight V7 coin that will get you about 12,000 tokens/day with a hash rate of about 150 h/s.

I've also added their official pool to the pool list: pool.bbscoin.xyz

Happy mining Smiley
418  Economy / Economics / Re: Sweden Tries to Halt Its March to Total Cashlessness on: June 12, 2018, 07:09:12 AM
That is interesting news indeed. It seems someone in their government is still reticent on going cashless. I wonder why, since their corruption index is very low.

I am pro cashless since this is the best way to track frauds and stop corruption. We have been a cash-only society for some time now and that hasn't worked out very well.

On another note, I remember when traveling to Denmark a few years back and seeing people with wallets that do not hold any banknotes or coins, just cards. I think they should be at least 95% cashless by now. Bravo to them! Smiley
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Exploring the Threadripper 2 and its mining capabilities on: June 12, 2018, 06:47:40 AM
It's nice to see that AMD R&D is working to produce the best computer processors, I think if they keep it like this for a couple years they will dominate the CPU world.

I'm not sure if it will make a difference when it comes to mining though. It will have high hash rates, no doubt, but it's going to be just shy of what a GPUs were already getting for a few years now. So, mining wouldn't be the best way to use it IMHO.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain - Solution of Piracy ? on: June 12, 2018, 06:40:32 AM
I think you could only use the blockchain to increase the copyright protection, piracy is a different thing that is way harder to control.

Not to mention that since piracy is something enforced in some countries but tolerated in others, there will always be solutions to avoid getting caught.
