161  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scalability? on: November 05, 2017, 03:07:55 PM
Crypto will only start to have real benefits to human economic activity only when someone comes up with a true innovation where simple desktop acts as a "vote". Yes! This is the real challenge! Where ordinary users have monetary incentives to participate in the network and no one with money advantage can build "mining rigs" to monopolize the  network. This is the only true open source.

People seem to be fixated to this method of "proof-of-work". In the near future, I believe there will be ideas now totally unexplored that may be far far better than our current over-hyped blockchain technology. Don't underestimate true human ingenuity Cheesy.

I partially agree with this in that there may be a better solution in the future however, I disagree with the fact that the problem is '1 desktop = 1 vote'; The real problem is finding a way to put the power of authority into the masses (i.e. decentralisation). So far, there hasn't been a single cryptocurrency that is truly decentralised - POW = centralised mining power. POS = centralised power to largest stakeholders.

The closest thing that we have to decentralisation is The Tangle (IOTA) or Delegated proof of stake (DPOS). Although, both protocols still have their downfalls and disadvantages that stop them from either, working efficiently or solving the economic problem (scarcity*). DPOS also still puts the power into the few who are successfully elected and voted for.

*When I refer to scarcity, I refer to the economic problem NOT scarcity in itself.

Can you explain to me how this is a scam please ? Rather than just a shitty website

read back

It's not clear for me

Seems like a shit coin, but don't seems like the dev are gonna run away with the money

They were caught using a fake team and fake profiles fraudulently.

sure

Sure? You think I am lying? Do a little research. Fuck me. This is why so many people get scammed. Can't even be bothered to do research EVEN when people are outright telling them it's a scam. Crypto bubble is going to go out with a MASSIVE bang if people like you carry on. Let's just hope the top 100 coins can ride it out.

I really do not agree that this is a scam. I am only being worried at the rate ICOs on lending programs are released these days. I am a bit worried about the total supply of the coin. The website is not accessible.
Let us still give the dev benefit og the doubt.

Are you fucking stupid? The guy a few comments above you literally gave you 100% proof that this is a scam.

Smh. This is why crypto is in a bubble; Until stupid, moronic investors like you learn your lesson. At least the people who actually do their research won't be harmed. Theres no helping you bro.

Sorry.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ok guys, Need some help with a negative friend! on: November 04, 2017, 01:25:26 PM
Selling bitcoin is easy though. What is he talking about? Is he referencing to bitconnect?

Guys this is a huge scam. The team members listed are fake. Clicking on the social media links of each person just redirects back to the site. I did a google search on each of these people and none of them showed up. Please take this as a warning; These "devs" will dump their tokens once the volume gets high enough.

It happens every time smh.
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC warns that celebrity cryptocurrency endorsements may be illegal on: November 03, 2017, 09:43:48 PM
I think its the SEC say; "Look, we know this is going on - We are paying attention and it is not going under our radar".
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I HATE 90% of Bitcoin investors on: November 03, 2017, 06:54:02 PM
Apart from all that, bitcoin can be used for various activities. such as paying credit, buying clothes in the online shop, and others. Do not hate investors, because they are keen to see opportunities, that's where they start investing. All depending on individual choice.

This is rightly said because every one as a choice depending upon their choice. Whether they want to invest or way to use it for buy product or services. Investing is also an art which not everybody can do it rightly It must be appreciated when the investors invest and get the possible returns on their investment.

Right. I agree 100% with people investing in the opportunities that bitcoin brings, such as, the growing economy (NOT the increasing price) surrounding it. But here is what I am saying; very few investors are actually investing in the opportunities or the technology of bitcoin - They are simply investing to "get rich quick" or following the hype because their friend down the road made a couple of $'s. THIS is what I disagree with and I think that it is a problem because I am beginning to realise that this is where the majority of new investments, over the course of the previous months, are coming from.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: November 03, 2017, 02:46:01 PM
I'm not sure about ads for bitcoin specifically but perhaps ads for an app that works with bitcoin? Like bread wallet etc.

Could help raise the right kind of awareness  Smiley
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cant criminals and terrorists simply use BTC ATM's to convert cash to BTC?? on: November 03, 2017, 02:37:29 PM
This is how I get my bitcoins since I am not old enough to pass the KYC policies of almost every exchange.
The only downside is that ATM's have huge fees - The only ATM near me has an 8% spread (4% to buy and 4% to sell).
Also, most ATM's only have about $20 - $5,000 cash in them so you can only withdraw that much.

Then I convert the bitcoin to other currencies like Ethereum etc. on Cryptopia usually.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I HATE 90% of Bitcoin investors on: November 03, 2017, 10:56:46 AM
Well everyone wants to make money 95% of the users are here to make extra money and learn more about coins as well. Nobody would do something for bitcoin if you didn't get money.

So calm down. Some users are here also for hobby and they get extra money.

No! The point was never to "make money". The point was to revolutionise the way in which we represent a medium of exchange and providing a new, secure way in which it can be done without a third intermediary.

If your only here to make money then I politely ask for you to fuck off. Because in the long-run, if you stop making money, we all know that 100% of that 90% would leave without a second thought. They don't give two cents about what bitcoin represents or how it is so game-changing. Purely here because of greed.

I consider miners as third intermediary, as your transaction will get stuck without them.

Apologies, I should have said centralised authority.

directly whenever you are shoping in a grocery or merchant. Until the time has come when I can spend bitcoin easily, directly, everywhere, bitcoin still become an asset for me, a store of value.

This is why I think it is so overvalued. Unless the commerce and use-cases for bitcoin can catch up with the current price, a lot of people are going to lose money because of the dip that is inevitably going to come.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I HATE 90% of Bitcoin investors on: November 03, 2017, 10:43:42 AM
Why does it matter if they haven't read the whitepaper or don't care or know anything about decentralization?
The fact that these people are using Bitcoin should be enough, no?

Most of us want mass-adoption, it's a bit silly to expect everyone who buys Bitcoin to first read the whitepaper and know of all technical aspects.

You're in no place to tell anyone to 'fuck off', you don't get to decide why someone should or shouldn't use Bitcoin. You sound very elitist tbh and I disagree with your notion that the Bitcoin community should be some elite club of people who are only in it because of ideological reasons.

These people aren't using it because they wan't to make payments etc. They are just buying it to make money; Therein lies the problem. They are not "adopting" bitcoin, they are using it to try and make a quick buck. Honestly, I think bitcoin is massively overvalued - About 1% of merchants accept it. Unless this new money keeps on flowing in or, bitcoin gets accepted by Amazon, eBay or another mainstream commerce company in the near future, the music is going to stop and with it, the price.

By all means, if you are buying bitcoin to purchase a car, make an over-seas transaction or, use it for gambling then go ahead. In fact it is 100% beneficial for the ecosystem to do so. Because at least then, you are using bitcoin for it's intended purpose; As a medium of exchange.

174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why I hate 90% of Bitcoin investors on: November 03, 2017, 10:14:01 AM
Most people that investing bitcoin now, are just investing to make money. It annoys the hell out of me. 90% of people haven't read the white paper! Don't even know why decentralisation is a good thing! Don't know why the blockchain is such a revolutionary invention! It annoys me so much! These people just invest because they want to "get rich quick".

And the annoying thing is that if someone had told me about bitcoin 6 years ago, I still would have put all of my money into it. Unfortunately I'm only 16 so I didn't know ANYONE (when I was 9) that would tell me about bitcoin. I only just heard of it 7 months ago and henceforth, have become OBSESSED with crypto. Now I've dropped out of school for crypto and it really does my nut in when all I hear is "Bitcoin to $10K!", "Bitcoin to $20k!".

Deep down I actually hope that the bubble (yes it is a mini-bubble) pops after the Segwit fork and that the price goes back down to $2k. That way all of these stupid investors can suck their thumbs and get taught a lesson. 90% of these people also would have said bitcoin was a scam 9-15 months ago but now look at them. They run around like fucking idiots screaming "BLOCKCHAAINN!!!", "DECENTRALISATIONNNN!!!".

Smh.

Rant over.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever convince or encourage someone to invest in Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2017, 10:04:45 AM
Yes! I tried to convince my friends with every argument but they didn't believe me. But when I showed them the money I had made... It was whole different story. I got 4 people invested into bitcoin that week.
176  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What are the bottlenecks of Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2017, 12:50:16 AM
a) scalability needs solving

b) centralised mining needs to be addressed

c) fungibility needs to be addressed, each bitcoin should carry no history thereby no historical luggage.

d) QC resistance needs to be added

Could you go into specifics about the scalability bottlenecks?
177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't Buy Bitcoin Now - At USD6000 on: November 02, 2017, 07:24:10 PM

Yes, I also agree that now you should not buy bitcoin when it is at the peak of the price. We need to wait a bit and I think in the near future there will be a correction to 4000-4500 $. But it is not exactly. Cool Roll Eyes

Possibly...
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The relationship between Ethereum and Bitcoin on: November 02, 2017, 11:14:38 AM
And bitcoin can't exist and work without ethereum? last time I checked, Bitcoin came to life in 2009 and Ethereum 2014-2015. As long as they are running in separate blockchain, I no reason on how they complete each other. Besides, they are not comparable because they are not meant to be used for the same thing. It's just that Ethereum users lose it and start with the "Flippening" thing and clearly that's not gonna happen because ETH is stuck at 300$ while Bitcoin is skyrocketing alone.

Agree with this.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to $14 million on: November 02, 2017, 10:20:36 AM
Nice computation I didn't have any idea on how much the world has total assets. But talking about millions of bucks? I'm only thinking about with John McAfee's prediction about eating his D on national TV if bitcoin will not reach $500,000. It is my only hope but this will be the time that every person that has 1 bitcoin will belong to the millionaires club and this world will be totally turned into a world of cryptocurrency. Every transaction will be cashless, can't wait for this day.

It will be a truly revolutionary day. Personally, I think that the whole world will have switched to cryptocurrencies by 2025. Provided that the government doesn't interfere of course. Right now, I think that the American, Russian and Chinese government could destroy any cryptocurrency that they want. Let's just hope that they don't  Smiley
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is "Money Out of Thin Air"? on: November 02, 2017, 10:11:53 AM
Of course it is made out of thin air (and computing power)!! But so is EVERY currency; The dollar, the pound... They are all just printed out like nothing. The true value lies in how many people trust and believe it. Money is just meant to represent assets so that they can be universally divided and accepted as a medium of exchange.

More (real*) users = Higher trust = More value.

Economics 101.

*Real means that users are using it as a medium of exchange and NOT trading or speculating with it.
