My preference is CGMiner 3.3.4 as mining software, and have been using the 13.8 beta catalyst,the difficulty on BTC and LTC atm is way high. Well being that websites are usually owned by 1 individual they are a dictatorship, only limits the number of people willing to deal with their rules. Dont let one little click ruin the good experiences to be had in crypto-coin land ^^. Keep your head up there are better people to associate with.

Ddos protection is one hell of a racket, Black Lotus is one i went with. Seems to be the business of the future, I may have to invest in Ddos protection centers, since it looks like they get a cut of every thing.

PCIeX16 slot and a PSU 6 pin connector to the Graphics card to power your card. IDK what a 2nd Gen slot is? PCI, PCIeX1.... you want need these slots on that Mobo unless you go with a 3 or 4 card setup, and that will require risers.
Check your connections from psu to your graphics cards, and if those connections are good try to get output from your VGA output.
