1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchanges to practice for free? on: February 14, 2020, 09:30:34 PM
I didn't see it mentioned yet, but Altcoin Fantasy is a free cryptocurrency trading simulator. Basically you sign up and can enter into mock competitions. All prices and coins are pulled from Binance, so it is a good replication of actually trading.

I know about the genesis address. However, I am getting tokens from the address 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000
What is that mean? People send their tokens to that address to burn.

I seen an explanation for it somewhere, although I'm not that great though at explaining so I will keep it short. Essentially it has to do with how the coins were created or the initial contract for distribution. Nothing fishy or suspicious.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 7,019 Bitcoins Transferred Out in Batches on July 10, what will happen next? on: July 26, 2018, 06:53:11 AM
a total of 7,019 bitcoins were first transferred out from a suspicious exchange-based hot wallet
Which exchange? Can you provide link to original source of this news?

7000BTC is not big amount and if that address belong to single individual or institutional investment firm than he/they can move whatever bitcoin they want to either sell or to securely store in multiple cold wallets. Movement of large amount of bitcoin from one address to another doesn't always mean that it got hacked.

True, the problem is that it happened immediately after the SYS/MANA pump/hack/money laundering scheme (not sure what to call it yet). The funds originated from Binance hot wallet 1NDyJtNTjmwk5xPNhjgAMu4HDHigtobu1s and trading was shut down immediately after the transfers. No comment has been made since (to the best of my knowledge) on the wallet address, although all funds have been assured to be SAFU by Binance.

Yes it could be an institution, but Binance also has limits on withdraws, 2 BTC for unverified accounts, 100 BTC for verified, and institutions/users must first contact them for a higher limit. If you were an institution, or Binance securing their funds, why not make just 1 withdraw, this wallet had multiple large withdraws over a span of 40 minutes. Almost points towards somebody trying to get away with as much as possible before they are noticed (speculation). It appears the BTC is now being broken down into 100 BTC batches and distributed, I am not very tech savy, so not too sure what to make of it. Possibly somebody that is good as blockchain analysis could offer some input.

5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Competitions List | Updated on: June 15, 2018, 03:41:41 PM
True, focus is key to trading and I agree that using multiple exchanges can become a distraction. I personally only day-trade with majority of my funds on one exchange, but I also like to play market maker on less liquid exchanges for easy money.

My point was more so that with so many exchanges, it is hard to know when/where the promotions are being offered and that by moving money to capitalize (especially on smaller exchanges) is an easy way for traders to make additional profits. This website conglomerates ongoing trading competitions and the exchanges used don't have to serve more than the function of the competition. Funds are moved to a new exchange for a different competition, or back to your main exchange for trading.

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Crypto Trading Competitions List | Updated on: June 14, 2018, 08:20:52 PM
Hello All!

As a trader, taking advantage of any opportunity for profit is a necessity. Trading Competitions offered by many exchanges give us the opportunity to test our skills and increase our stack. The only problem is, with so many exchanges, its hard to keep track of the current ongoing promotions. This website has a good list that is continuously updated with cryptocurrency trading competitions. Hope somebody will find it useful!
