looks like according to the terms of service cryptopia's maximum rembursement to an user for cryptopia's faults is $ 5000 (i think NZD)

Okay I think I found the Cryptopia's BTC wallet. My deposit there is kinda old and I can't recall 100% if it's the address I deposited was Cryptopia's or another exchange's, but I traced the movement and since the wallet's movements stopped on 14th January I'm 99% sure it's Cryptopia's.

This is their wallet: 3ALZ4ALw2T4jebXXUy8GMv2rLB7JpFL1JD

After many hops between 1-use addresses, I find a big amount of funds consecrated here: 12YBZCaPe45LFbvgYWP5AVm3pvZTtHTiNY
This was a new address created on 13th January.
It seems that after gathering BTC from different Cryptopia's wallets, summing 392.31 BTC, they sent a "test" transaction of 3 BTC on 14th January and 10 minutes later they sent all the amount to the same address.

From that point on, it seems like the funds were split to multiple addresses, probably many of which are exchanges.

Your thoughts? Anything I missed maybe?

I can provide transactions towards my cryptopia deposit address if some1 is interested. now that address is empty.

if you're right, other 14M$ in BTC have been stolen? I had 99% of my funds in BTC.

I think bankruptcy is right out there.

Fascinating investigation on the Cryptopia exchange hack - Some overdue transparency into the Cryptopia exchange hack

https://elementus.io/blog/cryptopia-hack-transparency/

very interesting and insightful. Now I can imagine why Ormeus dumped so much (also MGO) even if looks like the hackers still did not dump all on the market.

very, very scaring that cryptopia could have lost access to all his wallets. At this point they can have lost access to bitcoins, too. And they are desperately trying to recover the private keys so they dunno what to say to the public in the meanwhile.

now the only question is: will we recover at least a fraction of our funds? Will cryptopia go bankrupcy? Because, there will be for sure some idiot who will sue cryptopia because obtaining only a fraction of the funds, not knowing that going to court means locking all for years, like mtgox or recently bitgrail.

Can anyone put a list of some of Cryptopia's cold wallets, I want to keep an eye on them

Like BTC wallet and some other more-popular currencies?

would be quite interesting, yes

Making an announcement about which coins/tokens have been stolen and which are safe and secured would reduce some noise and at least some part of Cryptopia users would feel some relief

this is the problem,

not telling what coins are affected makes think all are affected and the situations is catastrophic.
127  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 20, 2019, 12:02:50 PM
I am not sure if this information is confirmed, but I have heard that about $3M has been stolen. It is not little amount, but for such a large exchange as Cryptopia it should not be a deadly amount.

An interesting announcement appeared this morning in the "digital goods" section. Someone wanted to sell a database from Cryptopia. This announcement is no longer available, because it is prohibited to sell hacked items on the forum, so we can not verify it. It might as well have been a fake, or a joke.
I have heard it was probably $11M or $12M worth of crypto - and there was suspicious activity few hours before a hack took place.
I have read that binance froze some hack funds, but I cannot find if it is confirmed.. I think it is a time for decentralised exchange now.  But I hope cryptopia won't be second mt.gox

you're forgetting about Bitgrail where at the time of hack 120M$ of user's funds were stolen (or better, double spent or multiple time withdrawn) and i was involved in that, too.

I've my funds spread in multiple exchanges because of activities I do, in this way I could multiply my funds (not in value unfortunately because of the bear market) so I must accept the risk, anyway I try to not have a too big part of funds in the same exchange.

on cryptopia I've lost a month of work. The more days pass without updates, the more is likely they will not return our funds.

Here, it seems, they are cleaning the BTC wallets of traders after closing the authorization in exchange (?)

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/3FeGz3AivG9SUEPKcGASh4ZcD9JojUjHSL

Maybe they are being forced to shut down and the NZ government is creating a fund? They couldn't be hacking themselves with that level of scrutiny.

How do you know that's Cryptopia addresses?

It was on Jan 14 so NZ government has nothing to do with it.

Someone in russian topic said https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/3ALZ4ALw2T4jebXXUy8GMv2rLB7JpFL1JD is Cryptopia BTC deposit address.

Before the maintenance there were some transfers from this address 10 BTC each to
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/12YBZCaPe45LFbvgYWP5AVm3pvZTtHTiNY so it might be Cryptopia address too.

And on 2019-01-14 all coins from 12YBZCaPe45LFbvgYWP5AVm3pvZTtHTiNY - a huge amount of 389 BTC were moved to
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/3FeGz3AivG9SUEPKcGASh4ZcD9JojUjHSL

And then from 3FeGz3AivG9SUEPKcGASh4ZcD9JojUjHSL it started splitting to smaller amounts to different addresses - looks like mixer or so...

So if 3ALZ4ALw2T4jebXXUy8GMv2rLB7JpFL1JD and 12YBZCaPe45LFbvgYWP5AVm3pvZTtHTiNY are really Cryptopias then it looks very suspicious - what if 3FeGz3AivG9SUEPKcGASh4ZcD9JojUjHSL belongs to the "hacker" and BTC were stolen too?

So this one might be a "hackers" transaction moving BTC off Cryptopia: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/c45c46be414db8f9f354e6e94c5f62ca72ea15c3b298d72443f8d1a4146c66ec

I REALLY hope you're not right.

I confirm that after a deposit my btc are moved to 3ALZ4ALw2T4jebXXUy8GMv2rLB7JpFL1JD

if 389 BTC have been hacked, it's another 1.5 million dollars stolen, still not a catastrophic loss IMO.

chances we have been mtgoxxed (our funds lost for years or forever)  increase every day.

Running an exchange is the job of the future: you make profits on someone else's money, and when you make a mistake, you lose someone else's money.
129  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 19, 2019, 09:01:49 PM
What was your experiences from previous hacks? I remember having heard of other exchanges being hacked in the past but reopening and I think most if not all exchanges had paid back people.

bitgrail is awaiting court decision after months of hearings, they probably will go bankrupcy and ppl's money will be blocked for years (in italy things are slow) if cryptopia too will go bankrupt, good bye also tu unaffected funds.
130  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 18, 2019, 04:57:19 PM
I just wanted to draw the worst case scenario. I have money there (more than 10$...)

Anyway, I don't think etherscan can block funds.

I just hope we will not see the mtgox/bitgrail scenario. I had 99% BTC so I don't want to be robbed again.

If cryptopia isn't insured and has not enough coverage to repay losses, I am pessimistic.
131  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 18, 2019, 04:25:12 PM
because all our funds will be probably seized and used to pay lawyers.
132  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 18, 2019, 10:25:40 AM

no new info there.
133  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Struggles of Advcash, there is Epayments as a good alternative (mastercard) on: January 18, 2019, 10:09:33 AM
Today i did a card load like many other times, and noted that BTC was valued 100$ less of current market price, I always was surprised of BTC valuation with no discount with market. Did dey start to charge higher fees?
134  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 17, 2019, 02:18:43 PM
Can anyone check if cryptopia still have BTC in hot/cold wallet?

I checked the address I used to deposit, and it's empty. Sadly, empty. Bu I dunno if it's correct to do a similar check.
135  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 15, 2019, 02:57:30 PM
A user named Mark Patterson just offered 211.000 mgo for an over the counter trade in the mobilego telegram community channel. These 211.000 mgo where stolen from cryptopia. Warn your community members if your coin is stolen.

lol mgo was just the coin I traded on Cryptopia. But I had only <100 at the moment, the rest of funds were all btc.

I hope BTC were not stolen and even more I hope police will not seize all the exchange for years. Like Bitrgrail.
136  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 14, 2019, 03:02:31 PM

I've an EOS w/d stuck in processing since 10 days ago. They closed ticket this night but I cannot check if it's resolved.

what exchanges are currently supported?
139  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 12, 2019, 11:20:18 PM
I've traded withdrawn and deposited that coin for months and worked perfectly. I was even surprised of how perfect and fast withdrawals were.

I don't understand why the've messed up everything now.
140  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 11, 2019, 09:50:55 AM
What's going on with this exchange?

I've an EOS witdrawal stuck on processing since 10 days ago (ticked opened and replied, then nothing else)
and I am waiting the reopening of a market paused (MGO) since 29th of december. They paused  the market for a stuck order, don't think it's a problem so difficult to solve!
