Here is my questions concerning this forum. First regarding how people reply to specific lines of your post like quoting the person. I've seen some person do it and it makes their reply look more presentable and neat. I tried it on my previous post but i got confused on how to make reply to specific lines of post.
About posting, generally you can learn from these topics for making your posts better, and avoid nested quoting.

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is just a bad design! on: Today at 09:42:03 AM
So I was surfing the web, going over “X” formally tweeter earlier today and I came across a screaming clip of a 53 year old said to have accidentally deleted his seed phrase and was seen widely screaming on how can he get his deleted seed phrase back!
It's like an unbelievable story as how he had his wallet file and already made his wallet backup then suddenly lost all of these things together. People might not make their wallet backups but this case is different.

Anyway, he made wallet backup but only one, and it's not enough. The advice for wallet backup is always making multiple wallet backups!
How to back up a wallet seed phrase?

I've laughed at a lot at other people's misfortunes, but this is not one one of them. This is dreadful desperation and doom. A lot of people have lost a lot of money because crypto is just a bad design. It's horrible. I'm never going anywhere near it. At least with a commercial bank I can't lose a code or push the wrong button and lose my entire checking account. Case in point, like this one.
Yeah, you get how I got my subject title. I don’t want to link the tweet so I don’t promote any page and get more views, likes and comments going but, this individual apparently is never coming close to cryptos for this reason, a bad design, like really!
With Bitcoin, they can have their own Bitcoin banks.
With banks and bank accounts, they don't own anything.
Thinking like if they are safer at banks or centralized exchanges is a wrong thinking. It's not their keys, it's not their coins, and they are misled by customer support and account recovery from centralized platforms like banks or exchanges.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin, question about confirmations on: February 07, 2026, 04:32:22 AM
The network itself matters here, if you are using the Segwit network I'm sure you are good to go with one confirmation. But network like Etherum Erc20 (ETH), you need multiple block confirmations.
In the picture below watch closely to see how many block confirmations it will take for your BTC to arrive in your wallet or exchange. Although sometimes it depends on the amount you are sending with the fee you are using to send. If you are using a very low fee to send your Bitcoin miners can will not process your transaction on time, untill you increase the fee or transaction fee has drop before you will be attended to.
Segwit Network
One confirmation

Ethereum Erc20 (ETH)
6 confirmations.
You are comparing Bitcoin blockchain and Ethereum blockchain. There is nothing technically as Segwit network at all if you understand Bitcoin blockchain well enough.

Segwit is only one of Bitcoin address types.
  • Legacy (P2PKH): starts with a 1 as 1xxxxx
  • Nested SegWit (P2SH): starts with a 3 as 3xxxx
  • Native SegWit (P2WPKH): starts with bc1q as bc1qxxxx
  • Taproot (P2TR): starts with bc1p as bc1pxxxxx

Blockchains have different security levels [1] and risk of 51% attacks as well as cosst of attacks so centralized exchanges take these things into account for their policies on how many confirmations are enough as min requirements for user deposits before crediting money to user accounts and allowing users to trade, then withdraw the fund.

Usually, confirmation requirements for trading is smaller than for withdrawal.

5  Other / Meta / Re: Penalty like punishment on: February 07, 2026, 04:22:07 AM
It's first time I'm hearing that managers got banned because of sending multiple PM's. In most cases, members send PM's to managers but in rare cases managers send PM's to other member. Surely, if a PM is sent by anyone with scam intention or if it include malware links then such PM sender will surely get punished.
The forum rules applied for all forum members and there is no privileges for signature campaign managers at all.

Examples
Sorry BitcoinFX, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum.
PM spam. (If you send a bulk PM and any recipient reports it, then it is spam.) 30 days

Reason
You sent over 100 PMs with the same format: clear unsolicited bulk PMs. 4 people reported it, making it unwanted & unsolicited bulk PMs = spam. Most others would've been banned much longer.

Another example
I do, as I imagine others do too, send a few messages to services/gambling sites offering my service as a Campaign Manager and asking them if they'd like to give it a go here at the forum.

Some managers have temporary bans by sending PMs like julerz12 and AB de Royse777 as I remembered too but I can not find more details about their ban appeals in the past.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin, question about confirmations on: February 04, 2026, 02:29:32 AM
For Bitcoin, 1 confirmation means it’s in a block, but most wallets/exchanges consider it final at 3–6 confirmations.
It doesn’t really depend on the wallet it’s about the Bitcoin network.
Exchanges just set their own safety rules on top of that.
6 confirmations are no longer applied on exchanges as far as I know. 3 confirmations are enough and I see centralized exchanges require from numbers of confirmations as 1 or 3. Perhaps 6 confirmations were required long time in the past and even I have been in this market a long time, honestly I don't recall that I have ever experienced 6-confirmation requirement with my deposits.

It depends on the network if it's a non custodial wallet.

But it depends on network and exchange if it's an exchange wallet.
With non custodial wallets, you have private keys and are actually controlling your bitcoin so that you are free to broadcast your Bitcoin transactions with your own customization in fee rate and UTXO selection.

With custodial wallets on online platforms, centralized exchanges, you don't have private keys and you completely depend on their decisions to approve your transaction request, broadcast your withdrawal. In addition, they can charge you very expensive withdrawal fees.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Bpip vs BTT search on: February 04, 2026, 02:17:26 AM
Why isn't the forum search as capable as Bpip? I am not a dev and I don't know how this stuff works but I find it annoying to use bpip seperatly when we have a search engine on the forum, is it impossible to do? Or this is just the way that the forum want it to be.
Posts above already informed you that you can not search for posts and post content with BPIP so I won't point it out again.

About searching on the forum with the forum search tool, it's not too good but if you know some search tips, you can do your searching better a little bit. Otherwise you can use third party search tools like Google or Ninjastic.space, now is Bitlist.co or talksearch.io or loyce.club

Improve your searching skills with this guide.

Some have also explored privacy focused alternatives.
As KYC and AML regulations have tightened, many privacy-conscious users have not stopped using Bitcoin. Instead, they have taken additional steps to maintain financial privacy while continuing to use the BTC network.
You can use the Bitcoin blockchain without any further thing to do so your opinion is quite inaccurate. It is not like if you are not deep dive into technical things, you will no longer be able to use Bitcoin blockchain. Surely with more demand on privacy, you must learn more for your better knowledge and practice but it's your choice for your personal interest.

If you can learn, you can use Bitcoin well enough.

During this time, many casual, non-technical, or new users  Embarrassed were discouraged from using Bitcoin entirely.
Are you really sure about this?

Tech guys use Bitcoin in their technical ways, while non-technical people and newbies will use Bitcoin in their own ways that are more simple than tech guys. Everyone can use Bitcoin blockchain that is easy but depends on their need and concern on privacy, they will have to learn using different features on Bitcoin blockchain, with Bitcoin non custodial wallets, Coinjoin transactions and even commercial mixers.
10  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: February 03, 2026, 07:48:35 AM
I debating. I was merely making a point that with an airdrop, it could be profitable to play the right game with the right strategy, and actually be profitable.
Knowing the right thing to do, doing it at the right time and with a right strategy, while there is contribution from luckiness, it's very challenging while doing right things will increase chance of success and reduce risk of failure/ loss. That's classic but not everyone can do this rightly.

Most players prefer not to leave their money in their casino account balance. If they do leave money in their casino account, it is only a small amount. The other streamer referred to is a professional with a larger viewership, but I see bossmanjack as more unique with his straightforward style.
They can but they should only store their fund that is planned to use for gambling in their casino accounts. It's similar to only store money that is used for active trading in your exchange account. Otherwise, store your other funds, should be bigger, in your non custodial wallets because generally storing funds on online websites is dangerous.

If you want to gamble with big fund, it's surely that you have to store it in your gambling account. Anyway, it's kind of very personal customized fund storage and nobody will have same funds as well as fund storage strategy, then how much money is stored in an account.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.
Events made you scare about custodial wallets, centralized exchanges.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies! why some of our posts never get read. on: February 02, 2026, 02:37:12 AM
Proper orientation before reaching the forum is what makes the difference.

And of course the mindset in which you started with the forum although some persons after even securing all these can still decide to act ignorant to over look some things and try to skip to the good part which they have all their brain cells fixiated on. But mistakes are there to guide but some mistakes are hard to correct when done.
People can know about the forum by introductions from someone or searching by themselves. This forum is a biggest cryptocurrency forum especially for Bitcoin community so if anyone search with key words like "Bitcoin forum", they will find Bitcointalk.org forum definitely.

Introductions or invitations from somone to join this forum possibly come with 'orientation' that can be good with details or not too good with very short introduction without details, but it's not big matter with people who are ready to learn. After joining the forum, they can easily learn many things from available sticky threads in each forum board or by searching.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all talk? on: February 02, 2026, 02:24:28 AM
You are right, those who are currently in the market and have some money invested in it will definitely be scared to buy more even if Bitcoin drops to $10k or lower, because they had their money invested in it that they believe is now lost if they were holding and now the market has totally crashed. However, there will be another force that will be ready to invest in Bitcoin if something like that happens, it's the force that have never yet invested in Bitcoin but are ready to invest as soon as they get an opportunity, but still, even they could get scared if they see that Bitcoin crashed from $126k to $10k.
True investors prepare well from their knowledge on the maket, differences between investment and trading, available good investment strategies to use, and the psychology of market cycles so that they are able to do the right things while at the same time to avoid risky trading or short term speculations in this volatile and unpredictable market.

By being knowledgeable, well-prepared for their investment in this market, they truly prepare their mentality and investment capital for DCA Bitcoin and if possible dip purchases. They are people who are never panic with market crashes, dips as they patiently wait for such times which in their mindset are great investment opportunities.

DCA vs Smart DCA, what do you choose?
Which DCA strategy, it's personal choice and this one is only my introduction.

Every time Bitcoin is discussed, one thing is heard -
Bitcoin mining destroys the environment.

This claim has been repeated so many times that people have stopped asking questions.
People only need to use their brains and time for searching, I am sure they will find many resources to debunk this energy consumption and environmental fuds. With many available resources to debunk this fud type, all people need is ready for searching, finding and learning.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason why Bitcoin is not currently forking? on: January 08, 2026, 01:56:25 AM
Greetings to all.I have seen the word fork many times while reading about Bitcoin.I am sharing it here after studying the subject and understanding it in my own way. What I had read is that fork is a change in the rules. And if everyone in the network does not agree on one rule, a fork is created. There are two types of Fork,, Soft Fork, Hard Fork.

Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin SV are probably Hard Fork.

Now my question is, what happened that there is no possibility of a fork being created at present?
In the future, Bitcoin might have its technical fork like it did in 2017 for Segwit upgrade but altcoin projects that use Bitcoin as a tool for their scam forks won't succeed.

There are hundreds of Bitcoin forks and most of them either already died or abandoned. Some "Bitcoin forks" still survived but they're not interesting with cryptocurrency users and investors.

How Many Bitcoin Forks Are There? You will be surprised!!!
In short, these "Bitcoin forks" are created to steal your bitcoins.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Is Thread Quality Falling? on: January 08, 2026, 01:50:31 AM
Yeah I know understand how we say quality is subjective but there's some level of objectivity
I realized since last month or some weeks
The threads relative quality has fallen
Especially in the Bitcoin Discussion board (don't frequent beginners and help that much anymore)
When shitposters become future of the forum, it's what it is.

It's not only me complained about it, and with my experience as a member who had to fight hard to rank up with merit system since January 2018, I realized that ranking up in the forum in two or three latest years has become much more easily. I believe that many people saw the reasons and even comlained about that, it's simply a failure of merit system recent years.

Shitposters ranked up speedily, that's amazing for them but a severe failure of merit system and the forum.
After they ranked up, worn signature, earned money, their shitpost productivity increases more signifcantly, and make the forum worse.

The cycle continues, you know.
18  Other / Meta / Re: In post meriting, do subjectivity play a role for your decision? on: January 08, 2026, 01:44:25 AM
Right when I registered to open an account in the forum I have found that much emphasis is laid on merits in the forum relating to post quality for merited and unmerited posts.

Example is-- when a post receives merit it is considered to be of quality, why it got merited. And when a post does not receive merit, does it mean it has no quality, sends no valuable message?
This question should be from a newbie member, not from you who have enough time here and already received merit like charm.

Good posters don't mind about merit especially when they already ranked up to high ranks and after they reach to a rank they want, merit is no longer important with them, but it is like funny things, gifts to make them happier a little bit.

Only members who need to rank up would feel stressful with merit.
Shit posters feel most stressful with earning merit because it is created as barrier against shitposter to rank up.

Quote
Cause I have seen good and quality posts and comments in threads with no merits. And I will be questioning my self, if merit reward is one metric to identify a good quality post why are there many visible quality posts yet unmerited?
People can see good posts but don't have smerit for sending merit. Another bigger reason is good posts are covered by shitposts, so let's stop posting shitposts and report shitposts more. Don't spam, and contribute with reports to reduce the spam.
19  Other / Meta / Re: To: signature campaign managers on: January 06, 2026, 02:26:40 PM
Whoever pays users of this forum to promote them is not doing it out of charity but to make a profit. Specifically, when it comes to casinos, I think that most sig campaigns bring good results, otherwise they would stop advertising on this forum.

Maybe it will sound strange to someone, but considering the pay rates we have today, an average campaign can pay for advertising for a whole year on this forum from just one good player who has deep pockets and leaves large sums in the casino. I think it's clear to everyone that this is a very profitable industry whose spending here is almost insignificant.
It's true with big casinos as they already have big customer population and they have passed a challenge of marketing financial budget which does not come from their own pockets but it is from a sustainable source that is part of their business revenue. It makes difference for them, as they only use business benefit, more exactly part of benefit, and reuse it for marketing. It's no longer challenge for them, while with young and newly launched casinos, they don't have considerable users, their business income is small, and they don't have sustainable money source for marketing.

In the forum, we see big casinos run their campaigns a long time while new casinos might stop their campaigns after 1, 2 weeks or 2 months as they can not afford to run their campaigns longer.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake MetaMask 2FA security checks lure users into sharing recovery phrases on: January 06, 2026, 02:20:55 PM
I think this scheme Only target beginners or those who don't have knowledge how a non custodial wallet work.
With newbies, it's good for them to start with centralized exchanges and custodial wallets, but don't read me wrong. I meant they should never feel safely with centralized exchanges and custodial wallets there. It's just during their very first days, if they don't master non custodial wallets yet but want to start with money in this market, they can choose CEX and custodial wallets.

By knowing about risk and benefit of custodial and non-custodial wallets, they will have reasons to learn about non-custodial wallets, and when they are ready, they should store their fund in non-custodial wallets.

When you teach them, tell them like this, rather than saying "as newbies, CEX and custodial wallets are safe for you". Skipping the second part that is important will make your advice kind of stupid. Like a half of truth is no longer the truth.
