As a heads up: the chain is currently stuck at block 28000. We're looking at the best way to get things moving again. By the looks of it it is a minor issue. Will post an update here when we've decided on the fix.

richyjames has updated the Slack with regards to Cryptopia. They've reviewed the code and have found no issues. They'll continue with building the wallets and finalise the listing. There are no indications of protracted waiting and discussions with regards to time frames are in an immediate sense. richy has requested that Cryptopia stake the airdrop wallet and distribute the proceeds but whether that is a possibility in the first place is not in our hands of course. He has done everything possible.
richyjames has also asked me to thank everyone involved on his behalf. He hopes that we'll continue to work together as a community and treat eachother well. He's looking forward to see what Helium will achieve next.

so I did the math.... and according to this calculatorin 2 days when block reward hits 5 coins per block (25 times what it is currently... ie .2 coins/block) at current difficulty, 1000 staked coins generates (.3688*25) or just over 9 coins a day. hmmm, I'd venture to say the folks who held spreadcoins in local wallet at snapshot rather than Cryptopia must be getting a warm fuzzy right about now.... https://www.heliumchain.info/#/pos/1000and I guess that the rest of us with coins in Cryptopia feel left behind by the team and feel that the team could have handled this better and not just put the blame on Cryptopia. So, some (a minority it seems) with a warm fuzzy feeling and the majority feel cheated. Not good I believe for the future. The team should have had all this dealt with before launching. It's too easy to just point the finger at Cryptopia. Just to provide some perspective: the length of the reduced reward period was a result of an open discussion and the result was voted upon by the community, all in full knowledge that it was a mere guess and that the listing date would be up to Cryptopia's discretion. So there isn't really any room for finger pointing in that regard as well. I have my coins on Cryptopia as well and I appreciate that the community decided to start with reduced rewards in the first place. |

Do you have more or less HLM than you expected?
This happened to me. The address shown in my Spreadwallet wasn't the one where my SPR where during the snapshot due to change addresses being used by the wallet. Check the Spread explorer to find the correct address.
No. I have 6K spreadcoin during the snapshot. Held until around January 5, 2018, when I sold it. Now the balance that shows up on my account is still the one after January 5. (11 HLM). It's the reason why I'm asking if the snapshot date has been moved. The balance on your account, do you mean the HLM Wallet or Cryptopia? Make sure to enable coin control in the SPR wallet and check whether you exported the correct keys. The 6k might be in a change address. |

We all waited patiently for close to a year (well maybe not that patiently, but whatever...) for this launch...
Now let's not all get our panties in a twirl over a few more days wait for the Cryptopia market to open.
days^^ its more like weeks  ITS cryptopia. the problem is the guys what have the coins in wallet have already set up the masternodes and we lose money..  Well, you are not loosing money but rather not earning it  but I feel ya. I don't have coins locked, because I wasn't participating in snapshot, but I would also like to start masternode before the rewards will increase. what is the difference between not earning and losing money  ? if i can generate coins but not doing it i lose money or not  ? ~6 days until the normal rewards kick in. so cryptopia have 5 more days. there is a little bit hope but not much. What I don't get though, is that the team can't provide a one line update. Confirm that it's Cryptopia that's holding back and not some other problem. I know everyone is busy but it only takes 5 min for a quick update and the latest response they had from Cryptopia. I'm the project manager for a coin listed on Cryptopia and when I contact them about wallet issues etc. they normally get back to me in a day or so with a response. We've been in contact with Cryptopia ever since main net went live and indeed they're always very fast to respond. There is no ETA yet but there will be more news on that later this week. |

An update: the guys in #dev got the DNS seeder working. New wallets will no longer need to add nodes manually. The wallet will find connections itself.

This bear market has been very harsh on us and made me question how serious HLM is. Seriously I'm happy to see main net launch and looking forward to running a masternode. It takes a big man to admit that. All good and if you ever run in to problems running that masternode just join the slack and we'll sort you out. |

This is great news. After waiting almost a year from the snapshot, finally we have working blockchain with masternodes and staking. Lots of thing have changed in crypto since then, but I hope the project will continue developing in the right direction. Cheers!
Also I'm still waiting to see HLM trading live on Cryptopia.
We're working with Cryptopia to get trading and withdrawals going asap. No ETA. The first 28k blocks have a reduced reward of 0.2 HLM. This will increase to 5 after block 28000. This is to ensure a fair launch and give us some time to sort everything out. |

This project is quite a long time without updates, I might be a little understanding that the team wanted to do my best without flaw though, but it's been 1 year and more, I think it's too long to put off. I am very impatient to wait for its launch soon.
you can join slack from more info on this project. slack is actually quite busy and devs are always there. I noticed this too in other coins. Many are preferring the instant communication in slack and discord. Sometimes they rarely update their forum threads. Chat services have their advantages but a forum gives you a history that can easily be searched especially for important information. What does holding SPR has to do with HLM?
HLM took a snapshot of the SPR blockchain on October 9th last year. People who had SPR on Cryptopia or on an address to which they control the key will be airdropped an equal amount of HLM once the chain is live. I believe the dev team and keep trying hard to make this project running, although it has been long without an update they appear to still have the support of many parties.
The community has spent last week(s) coming to an agreement on what the coin parameters should look like. As you all know we did migrate code base so there were a couple of blanks that still needed filling. We reached agreement on what the parameters should look like and how we'll launch the chain. This will need some time to be coded up but after that it looks like we're set to go. On top of that the community welcomes stonehedge to the team. An update:
There was a plan for a 20k blocks PoW period with reduced rewards to allow the community to help out with launching the chain. We did a trial run and the PoS switchover works but it is messy.
Sticking with this plan could (and probably will) cause all sorts of problems such as chain splits and delays with the Cryptopia listing. By the looks of it the current plan is to make the PoW phase as short as possible and do the PoS switchover privately in a controlled setting (a few hundred blocks with reduced rewards). So that nothing can go wrong.
This will be followed by a ~2 week period of public PoS with reduced rewards to give the team time to sort everything out with Cryptopia. This way we'll be sure to start off with a stable chain. It will also make sure that everyone will have access to their coins before full rewards kick in.

A quick update: The first main net testrun worked out. PoS conversion happened at the designated block and MN and staking rewards were working as they should. We're going to make another test run to check if gj's patches for the ledger transfer work as intended. Ok so this is the last week or so from #general: https://www.heliumlabs.org/v1.0/blog/august-24th-gearing-up-for-launchOver the last 3 days the community, with assistance from the Phore developers, have been working on getting Helium ready for the final release. A lot is going on in the #launch channel and below is a very short summary: *We are currently conducting a main net trial run of the chain. Pow mining is enabled for 20.000 blocks with a reward of one. *We've found some potential issues with how the snapshot disbursal is currently coded. This is being fixed and will require a restart of the chain. *The above is the only major issue thus far. We're working towards a release candidate, making minor changes on the way. *We've contacted Cryptopia in order to streamline everything. I think they will delay again for the launch, seeing the market conditions are not good.
That's not a good reason to delay. Just pure incompetence at this point. Market conditions have never played, and never will play a role in launching this project. |

A team consisting of enthusiasts can bring an excellent result. Therefore, I am interested in what will happen here. And I see that I'm not alone.
As for the time, it is likely that the quality here comes first, and that's good.
This is the right kind of mind set. Everyone is right now working very hard towards launching and getting everyone their airdrop coins. And more importantly they're working very hard to make sure everything is done properly so that these coins will actually represent value as a sustainable blockchain. This will lunch, and when it does it will be a lunch of champions. |
