1  Economy / Gambling / Re: If i had enough money i would sue Bitcointalk.org on: September 19, 2015, 04:40:29 AM
You should not gamble with money you don't have. Plenty of people are able to responsibly gamble.

This story is suspicious but there is plausible deniability for BTC-e to claim your account got hacked another way. I do find it odd that your account got hacked when you use a mac however, there are very few viruses targeting Macs.

Why haven't you filed a police report? Do it

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrap It Up, bitcoin Is Done on: May 09, 2015, 08:59:30 AM
Bitcoin has always had scams, hacks, etc. This is not something new, and it is not a fault of the currency. The reason why there are so many scams in bitcoin is that people do not do their due diligence when using a service, especially people who use dark net sites.

Bitcoin is certainly not dead.
6  Other / New forum software / Re: Screenshots from epochtalk on: March 17, 2015, 11:06:29 AM
How is this worth $1.5 million? It looks worse than SMF by a wide margin.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: March 17, 2015, 11:04:08 AM
I have not read through the full tread but is there a summary of the core developer's positions on this matter?
8  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Mixing.space: Bitcoin mixing for 0.5%. No logs, built in wallet, time delays. on: March 09, 2015, 02:20:51 AM
How about some more information?

Feedback would also be appreciated.

We've had a few people use our service so far, obviously we don't know who they are but if you have please post some feedback! Smiley
9  Other / Meta / Re: REMOVE NUBBINS FROM THE DEFAULT TRUST LIST FOR REPEATED TRUST ABUSE on: March 05, 2015, 12:47:23 AM
I don't think people should be allowed to leave negative trust ratings unless they can prove that the person is a scammer, or they can prove the person is leaving false trust ratings.
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Mixing.space - a new bitcoin mixer. Zero logs. on: March 05, 2015, 12:41:26 AM
Mixing.space is a new bitcoin mixer with a low 0.5% fee, and zero logs kept.

Mixing.space also includes a built in bitcoin wallet. The low fee allows you to use mixing.space in combination with other mixers if you wish, however we already keep no logs and guarantee 0% taint.

Mixing.space is a new custom built bitcoin mixer with a only 0.5% fee.

You can mix your bitcoins with 0% taint, with a variable time delay and the transaction amount randomized by +-1%.

Mixing.space also includes secureWALLET, an anonymous, no-registration-required wallet that is automatically mixed. Same 0.5% fee.

12  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cointelegraph's First Anniversary Auction - great chance to advertise on: February 15, 2015, 02:21:38 PM
Does CoinTelegraph really mean bet, or do they mean bid? I don't know if any reputable company would be interested in 'betting' for advertising slots.
13  Other / Meta / Re: Is referral chain allowed here? on: February 08, 2015, 05:13:38 AM
Ref links aren't allowed to be posted.
No, that's wrong. Referral links are allowed to be posted if they are not spammy and are on-topic. For instance, if you make a bot for Bitfinex you may include a referral link to BFX in your thread.
14  Other / Meta / Re: REMOVE NUBBINS FROM THE DEFAULT TRUST LIST FOR REPEATED TRUST ABUSE on: January 26, 2015, 03:12:59 PM
"Personal gain" is where the logic fails. I have nothing to personally gain by leaving TECSHARE a negative rating (he has purchased goods from me in the past!), nor do I have anything to personally gain by leaving negative ratings for socks and scammers. In fact, leaving negative ratings leaves one open to rating retaliation -- as has happened to me. I don't do it for kicks, and I don't do it to further my own dealings; this is why I take offence to the statement.

I think BadBear's point is that you can't defend your original feedback on the basis of a feedback he left you afterwards. There's no forward causality.
15  Other / Meta / Re: REMOVE NUBBINS FROM THE DEFAULT TRUST LIST FOR REPEATED TRUST ABUSE on: January 26, 2015, 02:10:38 PM
I left TECSHARE negative feedback because I felt he was acting in a manner that called the accuracy of his judgment into question. Given the several witch hunt threads TECSHARE seems to be running, I don't think this is unfair of me, and would be interested to hear disagreement on this point.

IMO a neutral feedback is more appropriate. Poor judgement doesn't mean untrustworthy. Someone who has 'poor judgement', throws tantrums can be trustworthy if they honors all their deals and keeps their word.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested on: January 25, 2015, 08:39:26 AM
This is very sad. I think we need to all practice civil disobedience and start trading on LocalBitcoins. They cannot arrest us all.
17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are BTC Devs Doing Enough To Encourage Adoption of BTC? on: January 25, 2015, 07:38:45 AM
I still see security and user experience as the major road blocks to BTC and any crypto.  Right now, it's a complicated mess of expensive devices, memorization of various info and just general difficulty and confusion for managing bitcoin financially.

$100 gadgets and complicated security won't work in the long run.  Have I missed something glaringly obvious here?  Where is the Apple-like user experience for BTC?  Because if it doesn't come... well BTC will never really arrive.

Also, "talk nerdy to me" doesn't really apply here.  This needs to be something discussed in plain language.  Right?   I mean people get that.. I hope.

$100 gadgets like the trezor aren't fantastic, but the cost can be reduced with mass production. I predict we will see $20 hardware wallets with Apple-like user interfaces. there is already the bwallet which is $30 and implements Trezor 100%
18  Other / Meta / Re: Why You Make Me Pay A Fee To Post? on: January 13, 2015, 01:25:07 AM
What were your previous usernames and we might be able to help you with the reasons? You obviously did something wrong and creating a new account to bypass the ban will just get you more.

A forum is for discussion but you keep blocking me! I almost had a senior member account and they just banned me. I had an active loan on this forum so I made another account to keep in contact with my lender but then you banned that account and my main account for "ban evasion" so I made another and another and I will keep making accounts so I can keep in contact with my people.

I could just give up and let all my contacts try to find me but I am not like that and I want to repay my loan.

PLEASE DO NOT BAN ME AGAIN!

I am not a scammer, I am not a dumbass. I offer great free services and I am willing to help people when they ask for it.

You guys will be losing a great member if I cant post here.

Then you will end up paying a lot of the money to remove proxybans.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a currency and this is why. on: December 25, 2014, 10:10:19 PM
The key word in the OP's argument is yet. I agree that bitcoin is not at the point now that someone can receive it for some good and then go buy a totally unrelated good at the market price. We are however getting closer to that point. What is stopping the "loop" from being possible is the lack of merchant adoption and the lack of b2b transactions possible with bitcoin.

We have however seen increases in merchant adoption with many major businesses starting to accept bitcoin, and some with a policy of retaining some of it to spend later and some with a policy to have all their expenses denominated in bitcoin
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are doomsday preppers using BTC in their plans? on: December 25, 2014, 10:04:50 PM
I'm somewhat a prepper too, though I don't have much BTC. I don't think BTC would survive long against a major catastrophe.
I'd rather own valuables and bank accounts in several different countries. If something bad happens where I'm currently staying, I can just move elsewhere and keep on living the way I'm used to.

This is true. Things like electricity and internet access will likely become more scarce in the event of most doomsday scenarios which will push up the cost of both. The higher cost of electricity (and to some extent internet) will make mining less profitable, in addition to the fact that the lack of internet access would make bitcoin very difficult to spend (which is what ultimately gives it it's value)
