Fun Fact: Out of the 860,000+ users, only 9,772 members had an avatar.
Thats because there are more newbies, jr members and members compares to other higher ranks.
Btw are you willing to make a poster out of it in future?

That is very true, I almost forgot about that limitation for new members. As for printing a poster, I may consider a poster once I have some designs made.

A poster is an awesome idea! I'd buy it!!

Our website is still active and has a nice amount of traffic  Grin

What else would you like to see on the site? Or do you have any feedback for the site? Can you help with the guides? Get in touch.

I am also looking at getting a faucet setup for Datacoin.

Good shit, man.  Glad you understand that updating the wallet is a priority.  Documentation is key.  It would be nice if we had a place with all the key posts regarding DTC usage in one location.  IIRC they're kind of spread everywhere.

Smiley

Documentation is key! I'll start to look over some links in the coming weeks and see if we can build something to put them into once place, PM me any links you have. Thanks

I Do like this logo, awesome work Isaac!!

I think red is a good idea for the text, a different red to the circle.

930  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would there be a interest in a Solar Powered Node / Wallet computer ? on: July 14, 2016, 11:06:01 AM
Thanks, but i try first to fund it by my self, has a touch of begging for me if I would ask for funding.
First will get prototyp up and running then i will post a donation address.

yes correct think that historycal transaction data is also needed in whole blockchain and should be holded on so many nodes as possible
Could be a feature for cheap builds with low storage.
Will build the Software-Base Image when SBC arrives.
Try to build secure Webinterface generic for most wallets and try to get an automatic installation routine,
where you could specify github-source to fetch and build wallet localy at SBC. Will take a look if it is possible (if the build doesn't take to long)
Also possible to create a github repo for it with prebuild wallets so that only fetch them and configure them into Webinterface.

Software for follow the Sun is finished
(Have build it for a mobile Solarsystem that a friend of me has build for his ownbuild camping Van, works pretty well and get him ~30 %Power then a fixed one)
Will document it in the next days.
With full build instructions for a small Solarmodule 15-25 x 30-50 cm Rotade/Tilt System

Understood.

Looking forward to the prototype  Grin
931  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would there be a interest in a Solar Powered Node / Wallet computer ? on: July 14, 2016, 08:31:24 AM
Hi all,
a discussion brings me to the idea to build a Solar - Powered Multi-Node Computer.
Based on a
7,5 Watt Solar Module
6500 mAh LiPo
SingleBoard Computer based on ARM Processor with 2 GB Ram an Quad 1,2 GHz CPU

This could support all coins that are using a commandline wallet with RPC/IPC Api.
Estimated Hardwarecost are ~ 150 - 200 USD depends on the SD-Card Size and the attached USB Storage (USB Stick or USB SSD)

The Singleboard Computer would take 2,5 Watt so that there are 3 Watt for USB Storage, 2 Watt are used to load the LiPo so that the Node is up 24/7 (Night-Time)
It was possible to make the Solarpanel follow the Sun to that maximum Power could generated (this would based on 2 Servo-Motors that are controlled due the SingleComputer himself)

Would there be a interest in it ?

I would be interested  Grin. Interesting idea, plenty of testing needed. I have a few solar projects myself (nothing BTC / crypto based).

Do you have any writeup on the project.

How do you plan on networking them ? Also you could run the node with prune=N aswell save storing the blockchain.

pruning would be possible but also did not support the blockchain...
At time no i haven't a write up in project.
My 10 Watt Solarpanel is on the way (small one) and also the single Board computer.
All other needed things are in my hobbyroom, the Frame for Solarpanel will be build with Aluminium Profiles and special Parts are 3D Printed.

I have done some project with Solarmodules, specialy the part follow the sun, this is realiezed with 2 Photoresistors and working well.
The single board computer has enough gpios and also analog input (needed for the photoresistors)

Estimate costs :

Solarmodul 10 Watt : 22 USD incl. shipping (cheaper then the 7,5W Module at time)
Single Board Computer: 38 USD incl. shipping
DC-DC converter 5V 12 Watt(high effency): 24 USD incl. shipping
Aluminium Frame: ~10 USD
SanDisk Extreme Flash-32 GB microSDXC UHS-I - UHS Class 3 / Class10: 30 USD
LiPo 3,7V/ 6000mAh: 28 USD (~14hrs possible without sun/nighttime)
Servos, div. Parts and Photoresistors: 10 USD
162 USD

Optional:
USB Stick
USB SSD

What do you mean by not supporting the blockchain (Histroical transactions?)

Keep me posted, I'll PM you my contact details, if you want any help with funding let me know !

933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned on Mr.Robot Season 2 on: July 13, 2016, 09:25:06 AM
Mr Robot new episode came out yesterday and It seems like Bitcoin has been mentioned, I didn't watch the episode yet but according to telegraph.co.uk :

Quote
Several eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the new episode featured a Bitcoin-branded truck. With the global economy in freefall following the finale of season one, perhaps the digital payment system has overtaken the US dollar as a more stable unit of currency.
See more about the episode here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/on-demand/2016/07/11/how-the-internet-reacted-to-the-mr-robot-season-2-leak/

ha ha awesome, Season 1 was awesome can't wait to watch season 2

935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EU seeks tighter control over cryptocurrency on: July 12, 2016, 10:07:07 AM
Guys, there is one thing you don't understand: The governments of this world are NOT here to bring us peace and to help us have a better life at all. They are here to implement their ideas, their plans. Plans that have been written for hundreds of years, and today can finally see their success. The governments are here to spy on us, to have every single move of us. Bitcoin is something that bothers them, because here we finally aren't in their eyes anymore. This is the reason they want to control the Bitcoin now too, NOT terrorism. Terrorism will be out there whatever we try. They NEED to have us under their control. Wake up guys, we are living a globalisation plan. And you can see this on the news happening day after day.

As a matter of fact, terrorism is just a good excuse for them to do what they doing. They are supposed to protect the citizens of their countries, and we expect that from them, because we pay taxes for them to do their job. The other side of the coin is, if your children gets killed in a Mall and you find out that it was funded by Bitcoin, you would turn against Bitcoin on a dime.

So let them do what they need to, to protect you and your family. The fine line between freedom and a police state, is not clearly defined. ^hmmmmm^

You don't turn against cash when a crime occurs funded by cash do you? We don't ask everyone to record serial numbers, locations of cash etc. As many people know Bitcoin is more traceable than cash.

During the 'height' of some of the biggest drugs gangs in the world they were making more than double the current total market cap of Bitcoin a year!

EU seeks tighter control over cryptocurrency
https://www.rt.com/business/350634-ec-stronger-controls-bitcoin/

Good luck !!

Governments / Banks don't like it when the people have control, they may want to ask banks to monitor accounts but this doesn't stop cryptocurrencies it will merely have people devise more ways for people to get cryptocurrencies to ------> cold hard cash!
Some countries are even trying to control cash (limits on how much you can spend in cash, how much you're allowed to carry and so on). I've heard that there were some ideas to totally remove cash and make all transactions online (allowing a total control on each transaction).

I can believe that! I'm sure when I was visiting Italy when I was young that you were only allowed a set amount of cash on you or you got questioned to why you had over a certain amount.

It sounds strange but I'm looking forward to seeing how governments plan to 'control' Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies because it's control like that which brings bright minds out of the woodwork and has them bring amazing new concepts to the table
937  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: CoinFest 2017 on: July 12, 2016, 09:08:56 AM
What can we expect on Coinfest? i mean what things is going to happen in there.
Or it just different,we get something else in every place the coinfest is made?
i was just wondering Tongue

The are some activities that try to cover all CoinFest events but many have their own schedules and activities. Each CoinFest is unquie but try's to keep the core fundamental idea of getting people interested and engaged in crypto/Bitcoin.

939  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Price history for alt coins? on: July 12, 2016, 03:36:13 AM
Sites like http://coinmarketcap.com have multi year price history graphs for Bitcoin and alts. Question: where does this data come from? Exchange APIs offer real time price info, but not the history from which a graph could be made.

It is awesome to have such data like this, very useful! Historical snapshots help a lot with market analysis although cryptos are very volitalie I have shown people before the fluctuations in the market via this tool.

CoinMarketCap has been running since 2013 and one of the only market data sites left standing as I have seen a few come and go!
