6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I buy cryptocurrency? on: July 21, 2020, 09:15:55 PM
Hi.

I have been trying to find a good service/bitcoin wallet to buy cryptocurrencies but haven't been able to find any. They either don't have the coins that I want to buy or the app doesn't work in my region (United States, New York) or their fees are too high or the app just isn't any good.

Can anyone recommend some good options for how I can buy cryptocurrencies? What are people here at this forum using?

It's been taking too long trying to find one that works well enough to use. I just want to start buying coins already.

The fact that you resides in the US really makes your option a little because a lot of exchanges dosen't support users from US due to US strict rules. However, i think there are quite a number of exchanges that work in US, a good example is the BINANCE US which seems to be designed for only people over there and couoled with the fact that binance is the most trusted exchange in this space, i think you should go for it
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Allegedly Coinbase prevented 1,000 customers From Sending Funds to the Hackers on: July 21, 2020, 09:11:10 PM

Excellent operational work. If all exchanges had taken such measures in time, the hackers would probably have received significantly less.
What do you think?

I can't agree more, the amount the hackers parted with would have been much lesser if at all mega exchanges like binance, bittrex, okex and kucoin blacklisted the hackers bitcoim wallet and prevented users from sending funds to such wallet just like coinbase did. Coinbase deserves appreciation for such a wonderful move and people need to stop being greedy and naive to avoid futher scam schemes such as this henceforth

The bull run will surely expose all of them, trust me, some of them are smart enough to understand this and that is why they are trying every means to fool making unrealistic promises in order to dump on you.

I agree with you, every one needs to be extra careful when making investment in this volatile space especially in a bear market condition such as this. I always believe it's not only about taking huge risk but taking well calculated risk is the key to success, we are indeed in trying times and most projects even the guenuine ones seems to be doing less than expected but the bitter truth is not all of them will see the end of the tunnel, we've seens many of them gone already using the excuse of the bear and so will many when the bull set in so the advice is everyone should invest wisely
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to Sell LEDU on Dcoin!! Fake Volume? on: July 20, 2020, 08:34:09 PM
I have 15000 LEDU token to sell. I deposited those on the DCOIN exchanger and placed sell orders. My order was the bottom of all the orders. After a few hours, I noticed some orders in the history that have been sold for lower rate than mine.
After that, I keep watching the exchanger and noticed that buy orders are coming in order history I mean in history it's showing that someone is buying tokens lower than in my rate. But at that moment there were no orders lower than mine. How is it possible? are they using bots for showing fake volume??

Can anyone explain?

This is the action of bots, low volume and low liquidity. I've had similar experience with dcoin exchange, idex, bilaxy, and even probit. These exchanges are known for fake volumes and wash trading, often atimes trade dosen't happen on certain market but their trading bots often record it in history and that's the reason why people don't use those exchange for mega trading as only low end projects seems to list on them
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if the project is fake? on: July 20, 2020, 08:28:39 PM
Fake project is really frustrating if you're one of the victim especially for investors and bounty hunters.
I had read an interesting way to make sure the project is real. You can identify the project is fake by it's address of the company who is running IEO/ICO. Fake project would be indentify with this way because they put fake location. You can check it with google maps to verify if it's real.

So how do you indentify if the project is fake?

This is indeed a good way to verify the guenuity of a project, however I've seen many scam projects that did have a real office, teams do show up at blockchain conferences and also show videos recorded from the office but still exited scam and that's why i believe we can only try so far to verify the guenuity of a project, after that we just have to take a few leaps of faiths.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO might soon become an history in crypto world soon on: July 20, 2020, 08:25:30 PM
IEOs are not public offerings, which entirely misses the principle of crowdfunding, am I right or wrong? ICO is the only fundraising strategy that works wonders publicly but since we have no better crowdfunding than the not so transparent crowdfunding (IEO) we just have to accept things as they are presently?

Left to me i believe IEO's are public offerings and it has been more secured than ICO,  The entire market had enough of every project coming up just to scam investors but since the beginning of IEO, i can assure you that projects that Launch IEO on top exchanges such as Binance and Gate hardly exit scam. Infact I'm not sure if any has exited scam so far but the rate of scams has reduced if you invest in IEO's on major exchange...the button line is, i believe IEO is here to stay
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I found out from Twitter. on: July 20, 2020, 08:20:10 PM
Recently, i know Binance CEO, Changpend Zhao has recently criticised the security of Twitter after the recent coordinated attack on prominent accounts. He has said this on the World Blockchain Summit Asia which took place on Thursday 16 July. This attack on Twitter has targeted several prominent crypto exchanges including Coinbase, Binance and many others. Along with this, it has attacked some of the most famous personalities of the U.S. Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and many others. The hackers were posting tweets from these accounts and have been offering a fake crypto giveaway.

What's your opinion?

Well it is always easier to blame and judge people, binance was once hacked too so security breach of any platform on the internet is possible. The hack seems to target more of crypto personalities more than others but i must say it's a gppd thing that the hack didn't move the market, it means people are well aware that certain things are just out of control. And for those that fell victim, this will serve as a lesson for them to always do away with greed and invest wisely henceforth
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is Best Trading or Freelancing? on: July 14, 2020, 11:59:47 PM
Which is Best Trading or Freelancing?

The truth is that that you cannot make good money with freelancing, the only thing where you can make money is trading but for trading you would need a good revenue and expertise in trading otherwise you will just loose because the good exchanges has high trading fee and it is difficult that you could generate profit.

I found there that many youtube channels are promoting freelancing but they are just misleading you. Freelancing has no more scope. Do not waste your time by learning anything related to freelancing. Instead learn something about trading.

I think you are mistaken or misinform about freelancing, i know freelancers that are making it big even more than most traders, it all depends on the skill you posesses as a freelancer that will determine your earning potentials and the risk involve in freelancing isn't as much as the one involve with trading as even a single wrong trade can REKT you down and blow up your account.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading using someone else's funds on: July 14, 2020, 11:54:56 PM
Edit: Just so everyone knows, a close friend of mine has asked me to trade with some of their money. They have witnessed my trading and know that I am profitable. It is NOT a random person as others have suggested on this thread. Either way this does not matter and I would like to keep the discussion on topic.

Trading with either loan or someone's fund is not adviced especially in this volatile crypto market as the trade could go wrong on any possible level, if you are really a great trader, i believe by now you should have enough capital you can use for your own trade instead of trading for others even if they're are the one that approach you with the offer
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It's ok if your profits are less on: July 14, 2020, 11:49:45 PM

But this is what I want to highlight. Though I could have got more profit I am not sad since I got at least a little profit.
I know I would have been more happier if the price would have decreased after I sold but I am not sad that it instead increased.
So guys, it's ok if your profits are less. You are at least making profits while things could have gone the other way around.

The perfect way to survive in this volatile market is to cut off greed and being ready to accept the you can't always win it big as you have to accept some low profit if the hefty project haven't show up yet. I believe so far a person is not running on loss, it is not a bad call trading your holdings for a much lesser price than envisioned
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth going for me? on: July 13, 2020, 09:04:24 PM
I am following PayAccept project - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5258011.msg54681210#msg54681210 for some time now much like others here. So I like to know few things and advice from people who already have idea of this project.

They recently made a Turbo sale, which was below 1-2 cents from actual exchange price and it was sold out within 1 hour. So unfortunately, there was no opportunity for me to think or do anything.

Now I just read on their https://twitter.com/payaccept/status/1282630910005972992 that they are doing 2nd Turbo Sale in few hours.

Please tell me is it worth going for??

Well, any project launching different form of tokensales are kind of dangerous as they can pack up any moment they're done raising enough, why can't they conduct a straight forward tokensale and be done with it instead of organizing different tokemsales. So if turbo 2 got sold out, should there community expect turbo 3? Will it keep going like that?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The return of ICOs on: July 13, 2020, 08:59:53 PM
Guys, do you think that ICOs could make a come back? I do and here is why. Every year dozens of companies raise money in Silicon Valley for startups, many pre revenue. Also, with the economy injured from nCov19, it would make sense to allow for new economies. This would include letting new startups in Blockchain raise money, and imo if they are well vetted, and trusted by the community, they should be allowed to raise money. What do you think?

The bitter truth is the days of ICOs are over, the entire industry had enough of projects abusing it as a means of fundraising and with the current rate at which well vetted IEOs By reputable exchanges are doing good, i don't think people will jump ship ever again. Any project with good products should atleast launch tokensale on reputable exchanges!
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me or there are others who have same thoughts? on: July 13, 2020, 08:55:09 PM
Is it just me or others think same way? I mean are listed bounties intentionally using bounty campaigns to create hype and before the bounty is over they dump part the tokens making it lose value and make bounty hunters share what's left??? I'm kinda confused with bounty projects that are trading

Well, due to volatility of the entire market, dump is common to every coin/token, it might be from the devs or from other market factors. I know it oftens feel like token dumps before bounty distribution but we've actually seen some that kept a good price till bounty tokens were distributed and that's why we cant generalize. As a hunter, expecting either dump or profitable price should be at the back of your mind
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for the DFINITY airdrop on: July 13, 2020, 08:46:06 PM
Comrades, I need your opinion. I signed up for an airdrop from the DFINITY project, which promises to send coins for an amount equivalent to 100 CHF. At the same time, they ask to participants to pay $ 9 for the passage of KYC. It seems to me that this is a fraud, but what do you think?
Can the project require money for the passage of KYC and should I do it?

I don't know if it's late already but no any airdrop is worth paying for! DFINITY seems to be a reputable coin and it has quite a hype in the industry although i don't know anything about them but it might be some set of scammers impersonating them. Either way, be it from the original DFINITY or impersonators, no one should pay a fee for airdrop, airdrop are way of rewarding the community not an investment opportunity for the devs to raise funds
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects and their unreal excuses on: July 13, 2020, 08:42:47 PM
It's 90% untrue story when new projects failed to launch their project because of COV19 pandemic because every thing about crypto is digital, you can continue development digitally even if the team are in their separate homes, I can still cut some slacks with projects from Italy and France, they are the hot zones of Cov-19 pandemic but what about others??? We have Zoom app thats very good for team to come together and make a plan because of social distancing,. What am I missing guys Huh Am I right or wrong?

The truth is most of these devs weren't here to do anything tangible and that's why a lot of them use the perfect excuse of COVID19 as a bail out, this is common to project that raise quite some funds prior to the pandemic. There's actually one that i invested in, they last social media update was in 23rd of april, i hope they come back
