21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon blake256- MERGE MINE 6 COINS- NO PREMINE - POW ONLY 4+ YRS on: January 22, 2018, 02:44:07 PM
What is the traded volume of Photon on C-patex?  What's the miners of Photon going to do with it? I guess selling for profit later. Yet, this is the only thread where investors are not important. Until you guys know what you are doing and change your mind-set, Photon will remain worthless.
That's funny, I've taken a small portion of my worthless mining profits and turned it into 1 LTC...

I've tried to sum up my thoughts here:

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@mindminer/blake-coins-the-possible-future-includes-crypto-gamers-who-don-t-need-jobs-to-live

beyond that i won't clutter up this thread with facts anymore. sorry folks! Tongue

The primary reason for listing a coin/token on the exchange is to increase its value. Why was Photon even listed on Cryptopia if the goal was not to increase the value?
increase in value already happened in early december and again in early january. it's up like 5000% from late november based on current prices on c-patex. this is not now, and in my opinion will never be a $1 coin. not organically at least. i speak only for myself here but based on how the coin's blockchain was set up (short target block time, no decrease in block reward, 90 billion coins), it doesn't seem that a value increase of this magnitude (another ~5000% from where it is now to get to $1) was the intent in listing the coin.

seems to me that the other blake coins all will have a much much higher value per coin in the game-world and could take off as investment vehicles on exchanges in the real-world. They will all be much rarer than PHO and they will all get scarcer over time, whereas people will be finding PHO between their digital couch cushions for years... PHO just seems like an odd choice for a community to rally around for astronomical price increases, based on the way it's coded.

Ripple is a bad comparison because it is not mined and has a completely different use-case. It's not just the number of coins, but the lack of a decrease in the block reward. PHO is already plentiful, as it was meant to be, and it will never become scarcer. In fact when ASIC mining comes online for blake256 it will become much more plentiful. We don't need price to increase to drive adoption. You only need price to increase if you are trying to pump and dump.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon blake256- MERGE MINE 6 COINS- NO PREMINE - POW ONLY 3+YRS on: January 11, 2018, 11:52:26 PM
Good investors invest in crypto because they research the project and believe in its utility. Other investors invest in crypto because they want to get rich quick. To me, this new photon "community" seems like the latter. No goal other than to increase the price of the coin so they can sell it for fiat. C'mon... it's a clear pump and dump strategy. $1 per coin is an arbitrary number and totally ignores the fact that the block reward goes up over time, and there will be 90 billion of these coins mined. It's not a $1 coin, it's just not. There are other Blake256 coins that are coded differently and will likely have much higher value per coin when there is adoption in video games.  But since Photon had a big price bump in early December and a HUGE price bump in late December... It's all "$1 PHOTON! WHEN MOON?!? LAMBO NOW?!?!?!" I see through it. I'm sorry.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PHO Photon blake256- MERGE MINE 6 COINS- NO PREMINE - POW ONLY 3+YRS on: January 11, 2018, 10:42:17 PM
This is directed at the new Photon "community", since it has been ignored on Telegram.

I'm still struggling to put together the goal of $1 per PHO with 1) the nature of the coin--it's inflationary unlike most crypto and has a limit of 90B coins. 2) the intent of the developers to have the coins be used as a crypto economy inside of video game universes, not to be traded on exchanges and make people who had nothing to do with the work that went into creating the coin rich. Volatile / high prices are counter to the intended use-case of the coin.

If we want to support PHO shouldn't we be supporting Blakezone games, since that's where they will first be used and then other game devs will see the value / utility and adopt it as well? This way the coins will find their natural price and it will be healthy for the ecosystem of the coins for use inside of games (not to mention you merge-mine while you game?? how cool is that??)

If the goal is just "$1 coins" what happens when the goal is reached? everyone sells and the price crashes and the original use-case is fucked?? Why is the goal of the community the price of the coin rather than promoting the use-case of the coin? Price should follow adoption, not be an end in and of itself.

I really am trying to give you guys the benefit of the doubt, but it's clear you are running a pump-and-dump scheme... :\

There are a lot of weak hands (or people who have interest in the coin and don't want the price out of control because the purpose of this coin is not for it to moon and make peope rich, it's to use as a crypto economy inside of video games) selling low on C-PATEX now. But even at 100 litoshis, 100,000 PHO is about $22.

I also do not speak for the devs, but I would say this coin and its use-case is very far from dead.

The problem with some of you noob crypto fucks (ie:item-ax,Seasonic & others) is you feel as if your owed someting just because you happen to buy 10 sats worth of crypto on an exchange & now your a "big time invester" calling shots as if your opinion really fucking matters --> It dosen't

You people are really what makes the crypto space a drag to be in. Acting like you helped Bluedragon747, Cinnamon or any other blake dev from day one contributing to code or providing support. Like you were the ones spending countless day's & nights trying to get shit right for us real supports who truly appreciate their efforts.

If your not happy about shit then go create your own cryptocoin somewhere else the way you wan't to see it done.  Cool

I can tell you for a FACT that the dev's do not control the largest wallets in the blake256 ecosystem
nor have they dumped billions & billions of coins, do you even know how to use a block explorer  Roll Eyes

The Management Team Photon, I am still a little leary on but only time will tell whether they are truely interested in the merged mining setup & vision that the Blake dev's have for use case or they are just getting people excited for an epic dump
well said.

it's open source. anyone is free to fork the code and make Photon2 or whatever you want. don't expect the devs who have been working on their vision for years to have the same goal for their creation as you do.

how can you criticize that external peoples dont want to use their ID to list the coin ? you can only criticize bluedragon, others people are here to buy, invest, give their money to follow and support a project, if the owner dont give a f*** about his own project, why do you want peoples to work on it ?
perhaps the "owner's" primary intent is not for the coin to be bought and sold on exchanges but to be used inside of video games?

This coin could be the leader of the Blake coins if anybody thinks of ways to improve it.
I have a suggestion: Make a youtube video where we use Photon to get an SSL cert for blakecoin.com and show how fast and easy it transacts... Wink

But seriously... Blakecoin.com needs an SSL cert. Photon just shot up like what 1600%? If the coin wants to attract miners, support non-merged mining direct to wallet addresses (no login necessary), or get a cert so they don't have to submit login creds in clear-text to join the pool... just move the pool web sites to blakecoin.org, problem solved.

no thoughts on Nonce and if a transaction with a low gas price having the lowest Nonce means no other transactions will ever get processed?
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I can't send ETH from myetherwallet? on: December 08, 2017, 07:54:04 PM
It's because of these stupid cats that are clogging ethereum network. You have to rise gas price and wait even more.
i did submit a second transaction with a higher gas price. but due to Nonce, am I never going to be able to do anything else since the transaction with the lowest nonce is at the lower gas price?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I can't send ETH from myetherwallet? on: December 08, 2017, 07:41:47 PM
i initiated an ETH transaction with the default gas price in my Ledger (21 gwei). It's been pending for over 13 hours. On someone's apparently completely backwards understanding of Nonce, I put in another transaction at 55 gwei (they told me this would supersede the previous one), and now both transactions are bouncing around on ehterscan.io as between not found and pending. The transaction with the lower gas price has a Nonce of 2, and the transaction with the higher gas price has a Nonce of 3. From what I now understand, the transaction with the lower gas price will never be added to the blockchain as no one is going to mine it at that price, and no other transaction can be acted upon until that one is settled. So... essentially I can never again access any of the ETH funds in my Ledger wallet because the transaction with the lowest Nonce will never be mined??

I got it from here:
Latest releases are available here:

files are dated 10/11/2017, but when i install them and load up the GUI, it says Software Version 0.2.0.37

i got the latest from gitHub, but i am still having problems syncing/connecting.

I am getting this error still: "...Remote node have longer checkpoints zone( 773500) that local (550000)That means that current software is outdated"
And every single connection attempt gives this: "2017-Dec-04 11:55:59.216567 [P2P2]Connect failed to 138.201.116.10:10101

Do I just need to let it run for a few days?

edit: also this, which looks bad

Thanks Vann!

Will the blockchain driver increase hashrates across the board or is it just when mining ETH?

40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Releases Driver for DAG Issue !!! on: December 03, 2017, 01:49:52 AM
sorry to be that hobbyist dude who jumps on a forum, reads the first ten posts of a 14 page thread, and then asks noobish questions... but here goes.

I followed the directions in this video that i found (haha fake news russia ha ha)
https://ruclip.com/video/EXLahUxmTOI/how-to-optimize-amd-rx-470480570580-cards-for-mining-full-guide.html

i used the right rom to flash the bios on my card (RX 570 Elpida 1750MHz). i made sure to get the most recent win7 64 bit version of all of the tools and utilities involved. nothing fails during install (i have not scoured log files as i don't know what is normal or what to look for). when i'm done, gpu-z looks happy, windows is happy, but none of my miners will run. all of the benchmark test on nicehash fail. i was on a smartcash pool and that won't work either.

i revert to original card bios and wipe the drivers again and put the factory DVD driver install disk back in... and I'm back up and running. weird thing though, when the factory drivers / bios are installed and everything works, GPU-z says the Bandwidth is Unknown, GPU Clock Memory reads 0 MHz, everything else appears normal.

so it appears to just be that the AMD blockchain driver doesn't work on my machine and/or i need more or fewer windows updates. it's an older machine (2011 intel board that i had to flash the bios on to get it to recognize the PCIe 3.0 card), so maybe i just need an actual properly built modern computer...

anyone have any ideas, instructions, links that i can't find with my own googling skills, snarky and cutting but true replies about my stupid noobish post?

thanks folks!
