1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KRB] Karbo (Ҝ) Кapбoвaнeць - Ukrainian Electronic Karbovanets CryptoNote on: May 16, 2022, 03:03:15 PM
Hello,

in general, if a new user wants to test Karbo or an old user wants to update his wallet file and download the newest QT Wallet Classic client via:

https://github.com/seredat/karbowanecwallet/releases/tag/v.1.7.10

this site should include an information to download separately the 5 GB blockchain via:

https://bootstrap.karbo.io/

so the blockchain must not be downloaded in a very, very slow pace via the QT Wallet Classic client but directly very fast

and could contain some hints for at least windows user like me:

1. install latest Karbo Wallet release
2. download latest blockchain data via "https://bootstrap.karbo.io/"
3. delete all files in "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\karbowanec\"        (by the way: the folder "karbowanec" should be renamed into "karbo", issnt it?)
4. unpack all files of file "blockchain-year-month-date.tar.gz" into folder "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\karbowanec\"
5. start KARBO wallet and done

goal accomplished: being instantly up to date with your blockchain synchronisation of your  QT Wallet Classic client and you dont have to download the blockchain via QT Wallet Classic client for hours or even days.

Furthermore mining via wallet GUI is quite oldschool and its unlikely to find a block (of very low value) ... so why not change PoW into PoS like Etherum
is intending to do this year?

Regards

PS: On "https://github.com/seredat/karbowanecwallet/releases/tag/v.1.7.10" there is written:

"Handle deep reorg that involves blobs from alt. chain. The wallets that are stuck on an alt. chain will actually be able to rejoin the "correct" one when restarted with the flag --allow-reorg (using corresponding .bat file for convenience)."

blobs or blocks?

The developer did not issue any coins nor did he guarantee anything (e.g. see 'About' menu option in the wallet software). I don't know where you obtained yours, I suppose by mining but it was your decision, so deal with it.

So, anyone else who wants to buy my precious 2,400 KRB for BTC in an OTC deal?

I would be glad to get rid of it.

Thank you.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KRB] Karbo (Ҝ) Кapбoвaнeць - Ukrainian Electronic Karbovanets CryptoNote on: May 13, 2022, 12:41:21 PM
This only shows the level of you or those who hired you for FUD with the opposite outcome, - if someone unleashes trolls doesn't this means something?

This shows that the developer himself and you are the developer? Yes or no? Has lost confidence in his how product he made IF he is not willing to accept the mean of payment he himself has created. [Or the tool / machine he created to produce this product]l

Thats more than sad.

An analogy (example 1) would be if I went to the central bank to exchange an old currency such as German marks for euros and they told me: "No, Don't shift the responsibility for your decisions to someone else."

Can you imagine how ridiculous and unacceptable this sounds?

Or another example (2): I buy a product and it has a defect (here, I can't use the Karbo. With a questionable exchange like TradeOgre, BTC Trade UA or Crex24 [which is not at all acceptable for German Karbo holders because this error message pops up: "The website is unavailable in your country (Germany)."], just to name the 3 exchanges listed on coinmarketcap.com (the rest are likely to be even more dubious)

I have no guarantee at all if I am allowed to withdraw even the BTC I still get for KRB. Because of the KYC procedure.

Only for this reason I have (I admit, it's a bit borderline to ask the developer of this wonderful product named "KARBO" directly, but at the same time also a good test whether he himself still believes in his own project or not.)

If yes, he would accept KRB against BTC and if not, he reacts like you and says: "No. Don't shift the responsibility for your decisions to someone else.".

So now I'm sitting on KRB that I can't even exchange for BTC.

A total bust.

So, to continue the example ... I buy a product and find that it is not at all what I want because it has a defect. Since it even has the defect here that the purpose for which it was created, to perform a peer to peer transaction, that is between you and me, is rejected by quasi the manufacturer of the "money print machine", the KARBO project itself and the wallet or the way to mine with pools via an ASIC (which differs a little bit from the way of mining directly with the obviously from you programmed wallet), that is you yourself.

And because it (KRB) has a defect I want to change it into a realiable product (BTC).

And the producer of the machine and the whole project which is then is leading to create a product which has a defect then tells me: "No. Don't shift the responsibility for your decisions to someone else." Then I am surprised.

Example (3a)

If a producer of a 3D printing machine which is producing a product like a wing for an airplane developes a 3D printing machine which leads to the fact that the user of the 3D printing machine only gets wings for airplanes which lead to the crash of the airplane what do you think? Who has to take responsibility here?

Only the user, Only the producer of the 3D printing machine or both? Or nobody? The passengers of the airplane?

Example (3b) wich relys to Example 2:

If a seller of apples sells me an apple and I find out that this is out of plastic so I cannot eat it but the seller promised me that I could eat that apple.

Then I would like to give this apple back and tell him: "Eat this plastic apple for yourself if you are able to do that but not me. And give me a proper apple (here: BTC, which I can use to buy other cryptocurrencies)."

And if the seller (you) tells me: "Don't shift the responsibility for your decisions to someone else."

In this case, I would request a neutral independent institution such as a court and pray for evaluation of this case.

And I think that I would have a good chance of success here, because if a company sells a bad product or sells a product whose purpose is to be taken back because it is a means of payment, then it is a more than dubious company.

A product should give use and not harm to the user.

And "No!" - Neither I am spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) nor I am hired for FUD.

I personally have trusted the product because I have assumed a real goal behind this project. And further developement to reach this goal. For example to list this coin on major exchanges so that there is enough liquidity. And you need liquidity if you want to exchange an asset. The more the better. And this is not happening. Also after I was asking in this forum here. And so I came to the conclusion that there is no real goal behind this project.

So, tell me, why I should spread FUD if I am interested in higher prices and more liquidity?

You can exclude that I want to buy this KARBO coin yet (cheaper than noww) after such a weak performance which is in my opinion the consequence of the weak backup by the developer / developer team.

And "hired" would assume that I would get paid for writing here? Are you really sure about what you are writing? Its an bold claim and stands for the qualilty of answer you are giving for a real problem here. (your product, the KRB, this cryptocurrency was invented to do exactly this: peer to peer transactions and you refuse to accept it? Ouch! On the one hand its legitimate to say "No. I dont want to deal with you", with no doubt, but on the other side you are signaling everyone here excactly what you are blaming me for, namely to spread FUD. Its a little more than FUD. Its a clear "No." to this coin and project. I dont know if you are aware of this fact of not.)

And I am also NOT hired you for FUD with the opposite outcome.

Question: What do you mean with "outcome"?

a)

Is a the cryptocurrency KARBO a vehicle of speculation then the wished outcome should be a rising price.

The FUD outcome should be a falling price.

And I dont see an opposite outcome of a falling price because the price IS falling all the way!

or

b)

Is the cryptocurrency KARBO a mean of payment?

The FUD outcome then should be that you cannot use it as a mean of payment.

And if you refuse to accept KRB, the developer himself (lol, sorry, but I have to laugh but its a nagging laughter), then its not only FUD.

Then it is a fact.

You are disproving at least outcome b) = KRB can be used as a mean of payment (respectively as a mean to make an OTC trade with the developer).

(Not to mention much more severe problems like fluctuating prices for salespeople. If salespeople would deny KRB then I would understand this but you?)

I want to quote your own project homepage karbo.io:

"Features: Confidential payments without intermediaries and regulators. With Karbo you are your own bank."

So .. I think a payment between you and me would be exactly this category (except that I dont want to pay but only to swap KRB vs. BTC).

But its quite similar.

I am further quoting: "Liberty is your full control [...] You can send them to anyone, anywhere in the world anytime."

I think by "anyone" you are not meant.

(besides: do you really say "anyone" or is "everyone" more suitable?)

Of course ONLY to send is only half of the story. I dont want to make a gift but an exchange.

But your claim is also superficial because I cannot send my cryptocurrency like KARBO so someone who has no wallet. e.g.

But you have both - a KRB wallet AND a BTC wallet.

But you dont have the will to accept KRB. Ouch !!! So your trust in BTC is higher than in your own project, the KARBO project. So at least I read your answer.

I could also criticise: "No intermediaries and regulators"

Thats now a handicap for me and not an advantage.

You are saying and I am quoting you: "if someone unleashes trolls doesn't this means something?"

First i want to ask you: "What does this say to you?"

An "No". I am not a troll. I just would like to convert KRB into BTC and because I dont trust exchanges I would like a peer to peer trade, an OTC trade.

And yes, in a borderline and provoking manner that I offer the developer himself this deal. (But do not assume that I chosed you because you are so realiable but you are the only  public source (at least responsive) related to this KRB project which I know. So I am already quite desperated.)

But if not even the developer himself is willing to accept his own product which is what?

A mean of payment? A store of value? Whatever.

If the developer himself is not even willing to accept his own issued currency (if he has issued the coin directly or only developed the tool to create this coin does not play such a big role in my eyes - thas why I think also Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared because of this responsibility problem) then everybody should be informed who is the troll of us both.

Thanks for reading. I edited my post.

would you like to buy my 2,400 Karbos against BTC for the current KRB/BTC ratio?

You, as the developer of this cryptocurrency, should actually agree to this deal, unless you yourself no longer believe in the Karbo.

Deal or no deal?
Don't shift the responsibility for your decisions to someone else.

So you do NOT want to buy back your own coins?

Wow.

Thats in my opinion a more than clear signal that this coin is a shitcoin and fraud.

Every founder of a coin or business would be pleased to buy back shares of his own project and if not then this is a strong ALARM signal !!!

Be aware of this coin and its developer.

NOT TRUSTWORTHY !!!

STRONG SELL !!!

This coin would have been ideal to help the people of Ukraine in this very difficult situation simply across national borders. To make a donation to them. But for this you need at least 2 exchanges. One exchange, where you can buy this coin with Euro or USD, to send it to someone, who can exchange it at another exchange in local currency and get paid.

But why is it that for almost 6 years there is still no exchange that allows you to buy Karbo with USD or with Euro?

Nothing has been thought through here. Absolutely nothing. And that in these times!

It is a shame.

A lot of KARBO cryptocurrency holders are willing to support the brave cossacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with KRB coins.
This opportunity (liquidity) is provided by one of the users of RICHAMSTER Exchange.
The goal is to send the converted funds to "RETURN ALIVE" fund (https://savelife.in.ua/donate/).

What and how?

1. In the KRB/BTC trading pair (https://richamster.com/en/trade/KRB_BTC/), buy order was created to buy KRB at a price of 500 sat (x2 from the market).

2. The total volume of this order is 20000 KRB (equivalent to 0.1 BTC).

3. Attention! This order is only for those KRB sellers who are ready to donate: sold and forgotten.
Any sale of KRB in this order is considered a donation, so claims will not be accepted.

4. Until the full execution of this order, BTC withdrawal will be suspended. Also under control will be trading in all other pairs with BTC.

5. Final result: admin of RICHAMSTER Exchange sends 0.1 BTC to the public bitcoin-address of "RETURN ALIVE" fund.
Hash will be made public.

Thank you in advance.

SLAVA UKRAYINI!

Really,

that is not a solution.

Much too individual and complicated, not general enough.

There is still, after 6 years of KARBO, no way to be able to buy KARBO against USD directly through a trusted exchange like Coinbase or Binance.

When, if not now, in time of war, in defense of Ukraine and freedom of all, would be more willing to buy the KARBO to send the funds to appropriate places of Ukraine on their own? (not only via richamster.com)

When, if not now?

Wasn't the very idea of Bitcoin and co. that payments could be made directly peer to peer?

- Be your own bank! Use your own coin! - was the motto.

Apart from the fact that this slogan was also not thought through to the end, since exchanges including access to the traditional currency market are indispensable to even give a cryptocurrency any value, KARBO itself is not even suitable as a supplementary financial vehicle.

Now you have to trust an intermediary institution again? And then such a small exchange like richamster? This is no longer up to date.

Here a great opportunity is missed to provide liquidity in KARBO by creating the possibility through KARBO developers to create an access to KARBO against USD.

The USD market is the largest market in the world. This is the only way to improve liquidity in KARBO trading. And liquidity is an important feature when investing in a coin.

If action cannot now be manufactured to create access against USD, then the KARBO exposes itself as an ineffectual means of transferring funds. Never again will there be such an opportunity.

What is the purpose of the KARBO if it cannot serve as a convenient and safe means of value transfer even in times like these?

Today Ukraine has the global attention and KARBO is still as inconspicuous as ever.

Today I read a news report: Ukraine sets up website for crypto donations:

https://donate.thedigital.gov.ua/#:~:text=Aid%20For%20Ukraine%20shows%20how,SWIFT%20to%20the%20Ukranian%20government

Listed are:

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Polkadot, Solana, Dogecoin, Monero, ICON, and NEO N3.

But KARBO is missing.

The pseudo-national cryptocurrency in Ukrainian national colors itself, the KARBO, is missing here.

I am irritated.

Almost 50 million USD have already been donated.

Is there even a fund to ensure that funds will be available for further development of the KARBO in the future, or has this not been thought of?

It seems to me that Ukraine's resistance will have to be funded without the KARBO. By conventional means or through more liquid and secure transfer vehicles than the KARBO.

I think that already says everything about the quality of the KARBO coin.

In my opinion, unfortunately, the KARBO no longer has a future.

I would have expected more from a cryptocurrency designed in the Silicon Valley of the East, in Kiev.

Nevertheless, may the Russian army be successfully pushed back.

Calm down man, people just joking, no need to be so serious Smiley, but I think it is waste time + electricity to mine this coin, I only mine this coin within 2 weeks, then I give up. If got exchange, I will sell all immediate Smiley)

He's just offering, nobody says you to buy, why so serious  Grin

No, that's the truth.
To me, Sikka is just one of the very very many coin I have mined
There are now many Cryptonight coins that have been launched for 3-4 months but are not listed on the exchange, not just Sikka.
I look it like did not exist

Can you or anyone else name some of these cryptonote coins that have been launched for 3-4 month but are not listed on the exchange?

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sikka - Cryptonote POW- POS-Proof of Activity- New Coin! on: January 07, 2018, 03:06:03 PM
Frankly, i think Sikka is dead coin now.

Dev don t do nothing, except say time to time "Sikka means money";
development progress is zero; nothing happens 4 month already.

So, guys, all who mined this coin - i think we choose a wrong horse and spent our hashrate
to nothing Cry

Wish, i mistaken, but reality show us i m not.

I wasted 1 month with 5 1080tis instead of mining a real coin...  That could have paid some bills.... serious or not...

LOL - He wasted 1 month with 5 1080tis instead of mining a "real" coin. LOL

Do you realize still anything? One coin is like the other coin. And with no link to a REAL legal tender every singly so called coin is just WORTHLESS.

How stupid AND greedy somebody has to be NOT to realize that fact ?

But if there is no exchange in this coin then do simply with the coin what is was mined for - for its purpose - to pay! LOL

You cannot? LOL - Yes - THATS the problem with every single "coin". They are NO legal tender and if you consider it a commodity or "asset" its totally WORTHLESS because the only reason people are trading ALL this shidcoins is the intention to find another buyer who buys for a higher priced than one paid for himself for the shitcoin.

Just pay with the sikka-coins. LOL

Or try stones or cigarettes or tulips.

How greedy humans can be that they are willing to trade any shit?

Forget Bitcoin and Co. - they are ALL worthless. Because they do not have any purpose except to purpose of speculation. Sikka is a perfect example that without any exchange quotes a coin will not be used as is should be used. To pay with it. q.e.d.

Happy MINING !!! LOL

And of course - happy TRADING !!!

Har har har - LMAO

He wasted 1 month with 5 1080tis instead of mining a "real" coin. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

you are all wasting your time with mining ANY coin unless you find a greater fool who pays you for the shit more than you did.

this is a bubble. do your homework in history and google "tulip mania". people behave today as they did at least almost 400 years ago. its simple greed. but it has at least nothing to do with genius or stupidity because also Isaac Newton - someone may have heard or read from him - the great thinker of physics - also did speculate in south sea company stock bubble in 1720/21 and lost his wealth.

Same will be true with Bitcoins and any other coins. Only 1 Coin can survive. They also is no other Facebook. Only ONE can do it in the long run.
