1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network node experience on: July 17, 2022, 09:07:58 PM
I've been meaning to do a larger write up of my experience once I hit 1M sats in fees.

I run the node Prince, https://1ml.com/node/02644f80b5d32ed9a9888690571159692a17d7ead7db2df5124a8e2a72a8447d30

I am currently ranked 8th on the BOS rankings (https://fulmo.org/bos-score.html) and 12th on lightning terminal rankings. I have 8-9 BTC on my node with about 110 channels (I have more incoming that outcoming liquidity, so that 8BTC is not my investment).

Top line numbers: Over the past 5 months have routed over 6700 payments worth over 1.7 billion sats earning me about 900k sats in routing fees; I've spent about 100k sats in on-chain fees and rebalancing fees. For those doing the math, that comes out to about 0.5% APR on my locked-up capital. Although my volume is steadily increasing and I may be able to get closer to 1% in the next year.

I have everything automated including fees and re-balancing.
-- I use lnd-charge for fees: https://github.com/accumulator/charge-lnd
-- I use c-otto's script for automatic re-balancing: https://c-otto.de/

Happy to answer more questions -- oh, and feel free to open a channel to me. The best way to get started is to open liquidity triangles with people (ie A->B; B->C; C->A). Happy to be a part of a couple here if there is interest. I do require a minimum of 5M sats for any incoming channels.

hello , sorry for quote ,
i tryed umbrel in december ,
and actually im on citadel , got 5"000"000 sat on it ,
i opened a small chan with a dev ( from citadel ) ,

but total newbie , and i see too , to do automatisation for balancing ,tower ?

and thank's for information about triangle (ie A->B; B->C; C->A) it's writed.

any way for a small resume what to do for start ?

i opened chanel like nub ,with lighting terminal ,and pay around 2300 sat for open it
when the guy say me no ,use thunderhub and u can set 230 sat
Huh just here ,you want to help comunity and ur stolen ....

just my question can you resume tool do you use and setting ?
and what the key for open good chanel ?

key is shop because btc go to here ( comercial traffic)
to geografical user ? im in eu ,
may be one node on russia ( for the east ? , one in usa for the west world map ? )

i have made search , youtube got some video '(JonathanLeviBitcoinfortheMasses)'
but im not english ,speak too fast ,and subtible main are not correct ...

or any good site ,
with what to do step by step ?

because on umbrel or citadel ,
yes you can open chanel manually ,but you pay fee for balance or rebalance
and like chanel opened , you pay 10 time the price
than a normal/good user ...
and im here for help btc/network and not to be the pigeon ...
to pay 10x the price for chan .. because i use the defaut tool ....

actually im using LNDg ,in automatic
but i dont understand ,know the value to use ....
like balancing chanel , i dont know about autopilot or tower ,
or setting ...

pm welcome ,sure blur / delete all private info ..

( yes im on telegram from citadel & umbrel ,
but i dont get any help ....
all look are good in code / linux ....)

i think answers will be no ,
This is not something a miner can predict. It can't distinguish between software fault (bad overclock, buggy drivers) and hardware issue (bad riser, cat unplugged the riser cable, housefire, apocalypse).
The only thing you can do is to set -rmode 2 and make reboot.bat with "shutdown /s /f" on in it.

i understand miner cant predict ,
just count retry start 3 or 5 times in a delays or without any minning ,
only desactive card , but stoping powering the card look be impossible

i dont think motherboard can stop powered a pcie slot....
and GC was powered directly from psu ...

im sorry ,just new in game
first time GC died .....

i think answers will be no ,

i have a 1060 card died/burned.

i see miner restart & working ,
but died card tryed to restart ( fan dont start ,try to turn but not )

when miner try to restart it , cuda error writed  at start on miner  ....
and smell burn in appartement...

about this ,when card crash / no restart ,
can you stop : unpower it ?

or try to restart 3 or 5 times the card
if fail : turn off computer ?

better to lose 1 day of minning ,
to get hardware burning & may be more damaged mb / psu .... ( flame / house burning )  ...

tested OC by phoenix too ,

i dont have the same minning speed .... ,i think dont have constant voltage
i have it in afterburner ,but not in phoenix ....

back to afterburner

OC with AB = 1880w
OC with phoenix = 1840w

minning speed same ,a bit slower with phoenix

Hi,

I use the PhoenixMiner.exe ver 2.7b,
Link - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.0

which of the scripts versions will fit, if any? if not, I would LOVE if you'll support those in the very near future Smiley

Thanks again for the great work!

New beta version with added hardware control features: PhoenixMiner 2.7b. It can be downloaded from here:
  https://mega.nz/#F!HI9lnDAS!gIFL-f82FK1MK16amCv_iQ

Here are the checksums to verify the download:
Code:
    File: PhoenixMiner_2.7b.zip
   SHA-1: e7eae3645429cb06178aa69728235e842c2548a8
 SHA-256: b872fed471b72911e6980d08496c3da03867dd82e3175241a9d67b2686921c9f
 SHA-512: c787e1383048af9c67ab2f26f1f5eadf061c8fb32a9ae4592c876acd881cdb6ffca2baa2f669204671fd27d4add4d10dd20762f9d35324e89f86f8c49eef68f4

Note that this is not an official release and the solo mining features are not included in it (they will be included in the final 2.7 release). The changes are:
  • Added support for controlling fans, clocks and voltages on AMD cards (use the command-line options -tt, -fanmin, -fanmax, -tmax, -powlim, -cclock, -cvddc, -mclock, -mvddc)
  • Improved GPU matching code to fix a problem with mismatched temperatures/fan speeds on Nvidia GPUs

Here are some important notes about the hardware control options:
  • If you specify a single value (e.g. -cvddc 1150), it will be used on all cards. Specify different values for each card like this (separate with comma): -cvddc 1100,1100,1150,1120,1090 If the specified values are less than the number of GPUs, the rest of GPUs will use the default values.
  • We have tested only on relatively recent AMD GPUs (RX460/470/480/560/570/580 and Vega). Your results may vary with older GPUs.
  • The blockchain beta drivers from AMD show quite unstable results - often the voltages don't stick at all or revert back to the default after some time. For best results use the newest drivers from AMD: 18.1.1 or 18.2.1, where most of the bugs are fixed.
  • -tmax specifies the temperature at which the GPU should start to throttle (because the fans can't keep up).
  • If you use other programs for hardware control, conflicts are possible and quite likely. Use something like GPU-Z to monitor the voltages, etc. MSI Afterburner also seems to behave OK (so you can use it to control the Nvidia cards while AMD cards are controller by PhoenixMiner).
  • This should be obvious but still: if given clocks/voltages are causing crahses/freezes/incorrect shares when set with third-party program, they will be just as much unstable when set via PhoenixMiner hardware control options.

big thank's for update ,

-tmax

When undervolt with claymore 6 rx and 900 900 consume 860W ... to trick and make undervolt in phoenix as above says, you start claymore, overdriventool, close claymore, start phoenix.

But phoenix will consume 875W  ... so 15 more. Yet, is more stable for me (22H and no crash), while lately claymore crashed rig when using low voltage... after an hour, 17 or more.

Conclusion : in my case, undervolt works better with phoenix. Waiting for 2.7  Cool

it's not only for you ,
i do the same here,
i have better minning with phoenix
i think guy have poor , dont know how to UC / setting CG or miner. ...

phoenix about minning is better than claymore ....

im asking few options but
ur minning @t home ,phoenix is perfect

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.6: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: February 25, 2018, 06:47:48 AM

have you try to set :
-eres <n> Allocate DAG buffers big enough for n epochs ahead (default: 2) to
avoid allocating new buffers on each DAG epoch switch, which should improve DAG switch stability

or with luck :

-lidag <n> Slow down DAG generation to avoid crashes when swiching DAG epochs
(0-3, default: 0 - fastest, 3 - slowest). This option works only on AMD cards

here i have remove " -minspeed "

because Nanopool made me minning sometime slowly ( 60 mhs )
but the miner ( black line on nanopool ) work @ 150 mhs ....

and rig have free reboot for nothing ....

cpu wasnt OC ,system is stable ....
im connected on rig over teamviewer ,but rig stop minning ....

dont have see any error message ,but PhoenixMiner.exe was frozen ..... and stop minning Sad

first time i got a crash/froz , and not overheat
im in france and T° is cold here -6°c /+6°c ... ( GC was 55-59°c )

chinese watchdog usb key cant spy PhoenixMiner.exe ....
(dont want take my .bat or PhoenixMiner.exe )
only reboot if windows frozen

any solution ?

how to check if phoenix is alive ?
and kill process & restart bat if no answers after few minutes ?
(easy .bat file is welcome here )

with my "crash"
i try to log it , but log save all ... ( i have small hd... and no space ... )

any way to save only critical message / error ?

Developers please make option like Claymores -altnum, but in oposite. I want my GPUs be numbered from ZERO as all other miners and gpu settings software do. First GPU should be GPU0. Thanks. Your numbering starting from 1 makes me more diffucult to identify while tuning cards.

I think starting from 1 is better as that is the same as MSI afterburner.

You think. I think the oposite. Let the user to choose..

+1 ,let user choose ,

all pepole dont think the same..
your free to chose , dont having choose is a jail ..

The new PhoenixMiner version to come will have option to undervolt clock and memory ? That's the only thing that miss for me to be the best for single mining ETH algo.

why u need it on miner ?
you dont have OC tool from Nvidia or radeon ? .....
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.6: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: February 18, 2018, 06:38:13 PM
monitor on rig is just for install win ,few driver & go ,

after i use teamviewers ( free ) ....
or pool for see if all was good ,u dont need monitor after....
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.6: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: February 18, 2018, 10:29:02 AM

yup , watchdog work fine ,phoenix 2.7a working fine , ( i desactivated a gpu in windows/hardware )
phoenix found a probleme and restart , good.

but i dont have see security about T°c  limit ,when a card reach 90°C
stop made it minnning for 5 minutes for cold down & restart it ?

im a bit crazy but i will leave rig 3 weeks .....

got usb watchdog key working fine , phoenix have watchdog for GPU ....
sonoff for restart rig when probleme

just "need" GPU T° check for security / dont burn/kill it ....
You mean like -tstop and -tstart options of Claymore? We will try to include these in 2.7.

yes i talk about -tstop -tstart . very welcome here Wink

i leave home in 2 weeks Wink
thank's you

Where can I download 2.6 without WIN10 Defender Trojan alerts, please advise.

disable AV ,download + install miner , exclude folder of miner ,start AV ...

or exclude signature ...
