It seems like you did a lot of research. Otherwise i can not explain how you could make such a high quality statement. (Irony off)

Hi, I am trying to find a pool to mine linda. I have looked back 5 pages, and the only pool I found was a dead one. I also looked at the OP, and all of the pools are dead. Looking for highest hashrate pool. Can someone please link me?

The ASIC Miners Are on the market since decembre last year. And you Want to Tell me that today up and down is because of the ASIC‘s? Sorry guy, But you have no idea what you are talking about...

The new batches arrived last month, since then the difficulty skyrocketed and killed the coin. DYOR instead of saying I don't know what I'm talking about.

The only things ASICs are doing are; A, securing the network and B, reducing the power required to mine a particular algorithm.  Right now, they are really helping to secure the DigiByte network as well as making some of the cheapest available DGB for people just joining the DigiByte party.
DigiByte is attracting a lion share of these new ASIC miners and needs to consider carefully disrupting this emerging market and possibly making DGB far less secure than it currently is at the same time.
There is really next to nothing that will remain only minable by GPUs, or this algo change at DGB would have already happened.
The centralizing effect of ASICs are being partly addressed by the current consideration of adding a 6th POS algorithm……maybe it will happen?
But if ASICs were the problem….give us your solution, what exactly would you be changing at DigiByte and why?....but remember Security is at the heart of DGB, so suggesting anything that will make it less secure than it currently is.....well isn't going to sound that great!

Your line of thought is flawed because security is not a problem for digibyte and never was, ASICs just centralize mining too much and that's the problem with every major coin. It's sad to see DGB became a whale/ASIC coin.

When will the algo change happen? Any date announced allready?

No algo change is gonna happen any time soon, if ever. The devs and their friends have been making big bucks since the previously ASIC-resistant algos became mineable by ASICs, something they certainly knew was gonna happen way before it did and I'm 100% sure they already had their ASICs ready to go.

EXACTLY. Finally someone who understands.

The first charge came on market end of decembre. And it always is the first charge of ASIC‘s that make the difficulty skyrocket at most. The more charges are there, the less it will influence the difficulty and the price.

Again, The drop in price in the last weeks is because the whole market is dropping.

As already mentioned, you don’t know what you are talking about. I said it and I meant it after I did my own research. I am very successfully mining and trading for several years now and I know when someone is just spreading bullshit and don’t know what he is talking about.

And even when I am sure that mining is going to die, As long as it will be there there will be no ASIC resistant algos. Only algos that are a few months ASIC „resistant“.

ASIC itself never was and never will be the problem of mining. The problem is the centralized structure behind the ASIC manufacturing. It is only the FUD of GPU miners Spreading sround that all ASIC buyers are greedy or whatever. But why does someone setup GPU-Rigs? The only reason is, he want to earn money. So please go away with that bullshit, ASIC buyers are greedy. GPU Miners Are at least as greedy as ASIC Miners, but ASIC Miners are smarter...

DGB the coin that is falling the most today. It's a shame that this coin is turning into a cash ATM for Asic miners. Soon there will be no hope and DGB will die before other projects.

but why is it dropping like a rock???
i have quite some of them and the value vanishes like ice to the sun...
dgb dissapoints me soo much right now.... Huh

It's falling like this because of Asic miners who are selling non-stop to cashout. DGB devs are not addressing the mining issue fast enough and this will kill this coin.

It is falling because of the whole crypto market going down. Thats all. This has nothing to do with asics... Completely nonsense!

Non sense is ignoring the problem with this coin. DGB barely recovered today, BTC is up 10% and DGB went down 20% yesteday and today it's up only 10%. In summary DGB is 10% down despite BTC going up.

Why? I'll tell you why, ASIC miners!!!!

The ASIC Miners Are on the market since decembre last year. And you Want to Tell me that today up and down is because of the ASIC‘s? Sorry guy, But you have no idea what you are talking about...

DGB is so dead at the moment. It's hard to keep the hopes up when no new updates are announced in such a long time. The mining situation is horrible and the bear market doesn't help either.
DGB appeared at the same time with Bitcoin and was mining all this time with a profit exceeding or equal to Bitcoin. I expect that DGB will remain even when most of today's top coins disappear forever! To promote DGB, it is necessary to conduct several social PR campaigns of companies or airdrops and then take off upwards!

As all PoW-Coins DGB will dissapear within the next 12-24 months, if they dont switch to PoS. PoW has no future. It is an ecological disaster and it is completely in chinese hands. Noone will trust a currency that is in the end controlled by china.

Ether recognized that fact. Thats why i am sure, that Ether will be number one crypto in 12 months at latest.

The algo switching they plan right now, seems to me, as they are not thinking about changing form PoW to PoS. This is what makes me quite afraid. They should have taken this effort they put into this algo switching thing to do the PoW to PoS - switch.

The fact, that they exclude a complete groupd of miners (Baikal), is the next thing, DGB will regret, as this group will left the DGB project. The reasons they tell for it are ridiculous.
First, there are no ASIC-resistant algortihms. In best case there are some "few months" ASIC-resistant algorithms.
Second, they do it for decentralization reasons, but they keep the two most centralized algorithms...

But ok, i tried to tell them. The only thing i got back from them was insults for me... They can do whatever they want to. My Baikals are paid and made me some huge profits. So i am fine.

I made a lot of money with dgb, but i sold everything to get into a much better, promising PoS-Project... The future of crypto is PoS not PoW.

All currencies that miss this part and do not switch in time will be lost in my opinion...

Nobody cares about the power used. The power generators love the extra profits. POW, IMO, is far superior to POS. POS rewards rich fat cats. POW anybody can do if the algo is ASIC resistant.

right lol no body cares about power

did you see what happen to all the pos coins out there from years?  they no where
why suddenly it will change lol Huh

people goes where the profit is

and actually it could have bad effect on eth price after they go to pos  it could drop

but if dgb ad pos and keep 5 pow algo could only be good
but last time we speak about it here (2-3 month ago? they say no way they will stick to pos)

we also suggested replace 1 pow algo by poc (hard drive mining) but they said no

3 months are like eternity in crypto. It is obviously that PoW will die in the next years. The ecological disaster is only one thing about it. The much more important reason is that any PoW-Coin will be controlled in long term from chinese hardware manufacturers. We can talk about that in 2 years again. PoW-Coins has to change to PoS (or maybe PoC or something else) or they will die... That is my suggestion... And again, this includes Bitcoin. The problem with bitcoin is, that there community is caught in that Satoshi Nakamoto idea and they do decline nearly all progress. The idea is great, but i am sure, whoe ever Satoshi Nakamoto was/is, he never would have wanted, that there should be no progress or improvement of his idea. This is even worse with bitcoin cash, but anyway bitcoin cash is the best example for the chinese control thing. BCH is nothing else than Bitmain's centralized, private Coin. I never understood how anyone could buy this shitcoin...

So it would be good news to hear, that the DGB-Team seems to understand, that mining is going to die. They could have done that three months ago, when i told them, but it seems they were not ready to do so at this time. But better late than never...

As long as Bitcoin stays PoW that is enough of an argument for any other coin to use PoW.

Although I must say, if at all possible, a combination between PoS and PoW sounds unique, I wonder if there are any other similar projects that use this? Not meaning different phases of first PoW and then PoS but actual simultaneous Pow + PoS.

As Long as Bitcoin stays POW it is losing Time against other Cryptos that have recognized the signs of time.

Bitcoin is the number one and it will stay there for a while because of the First mover advantage. But this wont last forever...

From a technical Point of view there Are already very much better Coins out there, like for example DigiByte...

To make it short, I talked to the DGB Guys and asked them about the fork.

They told me there is none!!! Fu* you fudders.

They talk about to maybe turning some algos off in the future. It‘s not set yet! Neither a date.

Cheers, stay safe!
.. fake news everywhere

In this case, the FUD came from Digibyte itself:

https://medium.com/@josiah_digibyte/digibyte-through-2018-wallets-algo-swap-and-why-you-dont-need-to-worry-about-a-fork-a22c407319d6

But it seems, in the end they thought about it and became wise. A few months ago, they insulted me out of their telegram, when i tried to tell them... An algo switch wont change anything. In the middle term, there are no ASIC-resistant algos existing, and in the long term PoW will die...

That's why they obviously are thinking about PoS:

As already said, there are NO ASIC-resistant algos. It is only a question of time, when all algos get their ASIC's. And PoW - Coins only make richt the chinese hardware manufacturers. Noone else. And their are a lot of people with children in the world. And they do care about power consumption, as they want to leave their children a world where they can live in. Especially if the chinese miners for example only use the dirtiest kind onf energy at all.... Coal... I am sure, there wont be any PoW-Coins left in two years. Btw, this includes Bitcoin, if they dont wake up.

Maybe forever. Yobit is a scam exchange... They took the listing charge from Linda Core Team and now they decline to update wallet.... Linda is not the only coin where they do that.... There have been lots of attacks to the reputation of Digibyte coming from people who praise Litecoin and Charlie Lee.

The DGB marketing team should make a good summary of Digi shield and the 5-algorithm protection Digibyte has.

Who takes Charlie Lee for serious? A guy that believes so much in his own project, that he sold all of his Litecoin. Who takes Litecoin-praisers for serious? DGB is in about 1000 ways better than Litecoin...

Able to see the true where it is ... i'm pretty sure , many of whiner are holder of x10 , and cry because they know if people continu to buy more baikal x10 , profit will continu to go down, you are ungrateful.

The wrong way for baikal was just when they ask for 7000$ with big moq ,ignoring that, and this deserve you , to make you win some time because not lot of people can be in for a duration :
what you do to their place ? they try , they sell. of course it wasnt a good deal at this moment for buyer.

But do you see bitmain add new algo to the dumb D3 ? interesting update ? Tweak ? NO ! the worst->  their miner are not optimised , the proof Blissz have some wonderful mod for d3 and l3+ , and this king would continu before jalous ask to stop or share his work , by hoping to remove the fee , with excuse cgminer iinside is an open source, but let's back to subject ....

->  ignoring baikal try to sell high price , they are not forced to add new algos , they make their money , trust me. the price added for sell depend of value of profit at the moment , so yes they had price lower recently
... cause there is miner to sell in stock yet, and no they dont massively mine new algo before release them ... imagine how many miner they have in stock , do you think it would be invisible on difficulty  ? remember they just speak about last 2 new algos at origin... now they speak about futur ones again ... sure its will not make amazing profit , but we have to took it , that proove again this miner is amazing ! can you write under which miner have so much algo and Mhs/w ? i doubt

so please stop whine and have some productive comment instead of rage to see your profit down by trying to transform that to advice for guys thinkning to buy it !
everyone pay deserve to have roi and be a part of this technologie and community , its a nice adventure even if you cant have 100% ROI ! 1 mistake = 1 learn

wish you all the best friends

kiss

Who is whining? Fact is, that the miner is, considering the market situation right now, not worth to buy. Of course, that can be different in future, i said that above. But considering the changes (Digibyte) coming, it is highly likely, that you wont get ROI if you buy now. That is all i said. I bought mine second batch, and i love them. Best miners i ever had. Thats not the point. The point is, that they are not worth to buy NOW! Wait for new miners with higher hashrate, etc.

Ok, beside the fact, that you did not answer even one of my questions, i could read in this post now, that you are senior software engineer, right? 99.99% of the cryptoinvestors have the opinion XVG is not broken software, but it is a reliable project worth to invest in it. You have another opinion... And again, maybe you should think again about that (most likely wrong) opinion. It is easy to say, my opinion is the only right opinion, and the whole market is immature, i am the only one who knows what's going on, without any proof of that.

"that some entity seems to have" = FUD

If you look at these facts (and these are real facts), there is only one possible conclusion: Bitcoin is shitcoin...

What do you think about that?

Bitcoin is so old and so shitcoin that Verge's dev team will use it as a codebase to update Verge's one.
Yeah, tell me more.

Yeah, the next highly inteligent boy comes around... You did not even understand one point of what i am trying to show... I give it up, guys. Keep on spreading your bullshit in this thread... Thanks god, noone takes you for serious... Make fools of yourself... i dont care anymore... tilting at windmills... Nothing is stronger than stupidness...

Profit today dropped to $7.50 / day

Who bought X10 (BK-X) from baikal?

You are so stupid =)  You was warned many times.

Soon you will see 3 USD a day and less!

You lose your money!

This is a very stupid post. Of course it would be stupid to buy it now. But first and second batch buyers did make a lot of money with these miners. I got ten devices from second batch delivered by end of decembre and they paid for themselves middle of january...

Buying them now, or if anyone bought them when they was at 7000$ per piece definitely is/was not the best decision. But on the other side, crypto market crashed down about 60-70% since decembre. If it will come back to the decembre prices, the X10 will make higher profits again. At this time, there are nearly no asics that makes good profit. This is why all asic manufacturers cant sell their miners. Half a year ago, it was nearly impossible to get an Antminer, as they were sold out 30 minutes after they were available. Today, noone buys it. The problem is, that there are only a few, most chinese manufacturers. They dont give a shit about there customers. And there is nothing they have to fear about, as noone outside of china will be able to get money back or something like that.

Anyway, i think you should not buy these miners anymore. They are "old" and the risk is very high...

They actually make more money than 90% of the ASICs out there and use far less electricity. Baikal are also going to be adding new algos soon. If the market picks back up these could be hot property again. I have 7 and not selling any of them. S9 1400w $7 per day X10 400w $10 per day

Do you know their soon? Last time it was about 6 months. And before they release it they fill their bags. Anyway, new algos wont increase the profitability very much. Unfortunately there are still people that think, if there is a new algo, they will earn hundreds of dollar per day per device. Well they will for about two hours. After that all the already sold miners have the new algos installed and profit goes down. We saw that last time. Of course it will increase the profit a little bit, but not much.
If i see the profitability right now and the fact, that Baikal is still selling these miners, they will be useless very soon (at least in a lot of countries) if there is not a big raise in price... You also need to consider that one of the most profitable coins for that miner, Digibyte, is going to change all three algos you can use with that miner to mine DGB (Qubit, Myriad-Groestl, Skein). If this happens, profitability will go down near zero... Even with new algos added, the miners will not increase profitability very much. So i would never buy this miners right now, even if they would sell it for batch 1 price. It is no more worth that price.

@l8orre: So if i understand you right, you are the one that decides which coin belongs to the Top30 and which does not? I always thought the market will decide that, and the market seems to think XVG belongs there. But sorry if i was wrong with that. I just did not know, that you decide that...
You should realize, that your opinion is obviously not the opinion of the major part of cryptoinvestors... This should be reason enough for you to think about that opinion again, dont you think? What makes you believe, that your opinion is right and the one of the major part of cryptoinvestors is wrong? Most time, if the majority's opinion is different from the one of a few guys, the majority is right. Not always, but most time...
If you think XVG does not belong to the Top30, what do you think about bitcoin? What is bitcoin? Well, it is not even kind of decentralized, it is slow, it is an ecological disaster, and it is technological antiquated... Thats our number one! It's sink or swim! And if you dont like the way the cryptomarket is working, feel free to leave it... Noone will miss you...

hahaha .. exactly my point!

you have misunderstood my argument, so let me explain: of course it is not me to decide about the value of XVG, it is the market - which goes to show how immature this market is, because XVG is broken software, and only reckless and immature fools will cling to that illusion that (after missing BTC and so many other successful boats that have sailed already in the cryptosphere) - they will be able to catch a ride with $XVG.

which they won't, because $XVG is broken software.

but you are right about one thing: it is indeed opinions we are talking about here, so if you don't care about mine, please don't bother

on the other hand, saying that $XVG does not belong into the top30 is backed by the argument that having a shitty assed, broken piece of software does tarnish the reputation of crypto as a whole, because it will come down sooner or later, which I think is a pretty damn good argument.

or what do you think about the fact that some entity seems to have arbitrary access counterfeit $XVG?
and what does that mean for the value of $XVG?

mind you, I do not have much skin in this game, $XVG is one of the last $hitcoins with much visibility -DogeCoin RaceCars, yay, those were the days in early 2014  Cool and it won't seriously affect crypto - wicked outright ripoffs like Bitconnect and Onecoin and such were much worse, and they went away too- I am just here because I appreciate what guys like ocminer and CHIEF56 et al are doing

Please let me repeat the question i would really like to get an answer from you:

Bitcoin:
  • not really decentralized
  • extremely slow
  • ecological disaster
  • technological antiquated

If you look at these facts (and these are real facts), there is only one possible conclusion: Bitcoin is shitcoin...

What do you think about that?
