722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 15, 2013, 03:52:53 AM
So it's almost 6am Oct. 15 in Sweden......UPS shows up to pickup units at 2:30pm to KNC warehouse, then you get an email.

BITCOINORAMA, any chance you might reply to my posting.....it is alot less abrasive than the ones you seem to reply to.

I propose for each order to be sent after 15/10/2013 KnC Miner giving one unit of 100GH / s for free.

What happens if you have 3 day one orders that are in the #300 range and have yet to receive a tracking number for them?

Smiley

You shed a tear and hope for some real compensation? Sorry to hear mate...

Nah no worries. Got some mates together and we made personal orders totaling 10 Jupiter units before they started taking payments.

Once they started taking payments. Any large orders had to be split up into individual pieces if you wished to take advantage of paypal.

I paid BTC. The other gents had to split up their orders. By that time within 24 hours the order queue was in the #1500+.

However they did have orders in the #300 range. Sam in an email had stated within that 7 day window that it would be combined.

I can only guess at the cause for the delay. Perhaps the notes used by the queue coordinator was not updated for those orders. And because of that it was pushed back in the queue.

It became apparent to one of my colleagues the reality that ROI in BTC would not be achieved,

You can guess what happens next, and you know KnCs new policy with respects refunds.

As you may have guessed rather then investing in hardware. You may have better success investing in companies that handle BTC transactions along with payment processes in btc.

I am a optimist by nature. The fact that I like to help out when I can does not help the matter.

Needless to say I am now the owner of that order. Smiley

In fairness to KnCs team efforts in attempting to deliver all orders on time, and the fact that unlike others who I have ordered from in the past. Who shall remain nameless.

I may yet get close to the amount of btc I had paid for back from the units.

Edit: In case your wondering, When those orders were placed the KnC reseller/distributor incentive program was not in place. So I do not expect that the program would extend back to day 1 pre-orders.

Edit2: Disclosure: I also felt it necessary to state that I have not signed up and have not taken part in the KnC reseller/distributor program.

I wanted to inform you all that it seems they are indeed emailing tracking numbers.
Got the 3 Jupiter individual tracking numbers via email. However they still need to be picked up.

Note: If you had day 1 order shipped to you and got it up and running october 4th you would have made over 13 BTC as of this moment.
Just an FYI.

thanks for this painfully stabbing reminder for the 3/4 of KNC's customers who are currently only waiting for their device with no consideration it seems so far...other than extra hashing power from when ordered.

Shocking to me.

whether the avenger is a client or not, and i think he is because he is UPSET about stuff LIKE ABOVE....so BITCOINORAMA, regardless of whether you work for KNC or not, you have now become the UNOFFICIAL voice for both KNC as well as US.

With joeventura's post above, he hit the nail on the head, and its seems KNC has no one, and WE Customers don't really have any one but ourselves and YOU.....

KNC has pulled off an amazing fete, especially for the early orders....but those must acct for 1/4 of the customers.....HELP is the avengers request in between the lines.
thanks.

Indeed it blows. One of their hosting package lists:

Quote
24/7 Monitoring by KnCMiner staff

I doubt that is the case at all Roll Eyes

And yes, their pool/portal page is still throwing PHP errors.

Just had a very positive conversation with Customer Support.  The guy I spoke with actually took notes of my symptoms and seemed to be taking the issue seriously.

Here's to hoping I wake up in the morning to a fully functional hosted Jupiter!

praise be geeezuz, they're alive, they're alive!!

Well that sucks.  The web interface I have has the option to apply/restart on the pool config and another restart miner on security page.  But I just ssh in and do it.  My pool info was all screwed up in the conf and it was starting 2 sessions when I hit apply/restart.  But the security tab restart worked - once.

2 sessions makes sense with what I'm seeing.  Unfortunately I have no way to resolve it and again, THEY WON'T RESPOND TO MY EMAIL'S.

sorry...

2 sessions = 2 instances of cgminer??

Yeah they have a script to launch cgminer in a screen session, you will see 2 sometimes when you ssh in.  IDK why, the script tries to kill any running instances and restart a fresh one, but it doesn't always work when cgminer isn't functioning correctly, which is when you really need it to work.

so it is then possible for dhenson to be hashing 400GH/s while the other 100+GH/s are mining on the other instance wasting away???

Anyone know what 'other' errors are in the btcguild dashboard? I'm down to 400GH/s and about 1/4th of the total shares are ending up in the OTHER error column.

dhenson, not sure if related but BTCGUILD was under DDOS attack last week for a good while....Eleuthria made server and other changes to help with the attack. Not sure but that has caused some miners problems...you could also ask him for private server info. if need be, to prevent connection problems to btcguild. Ask Eleuthria.

dhenson, so eleuthria says its the jupiter, and it could be software/hardware or both. I did remember phoenix1969 mentioning that he saw 2 instances of cgminer running on his rig....one with the info. that was pre-configured, and another with his "new" settings....maybe I read that wrong, might want to ask him...although he has saturns.

Yeah, this was the response from Eleuthria:

What miner are you using, it's SEVERELY broken.  You're submitting 500k+ shares that didn't come from BTC Guild.  Your 500k+ "Other" shares are Unknown Work, meaning you're returning results to work that was never given to you, either because your miner is spitting out corrupted data/unpadded results, or submitting work from a different pool.

It would seem that my miner is having software issues.  The problem is that I have no ability to reset the unit, nor troubleshoot or even look at logs, view the console... nothing.  To make matters worse, THEY WON'T RESPOND TO MY EMAIL'S.  Sorry, that just came out.  My frustration is about ready to pop a vein in my neck.
dhenson, I don't know if you have communicated with phoenix1969, but he did have some good info. in regards to save pool info. and the cgminer config. file.....he had also mentioned something 2 instances of cgminer causing him some problems. Good luck, and keep us posted.

couldn't be these guys could it?Huh? ip addie  85.230.50.37

Hardly. This address found only two blocks. That means it performs approximately at 18TH: (2/231×2100=18.181818182)

first, have you read any real good posts from HOSTED MINERS, AND

secondly, did you do an ip trace on that ip address....then let me know what you think???

Meanwhile, back at the farm:

Dat's 2117 TH/s.

it will hit 3PH soon

That's scary because KNC hasn't delivered anything new in a week.  Who put up all that hashing power today?

If KnC does do a relatively large shipment on a single day we should see it reflected in network hashrate as an unusual blip.  Might be usable to distinguish the effect of KnC additions from others.

Where's the datacenter for hosting

https://www.kncminer.com/categories/hosting

eternity, if its the ip address i found and posted earlier, it is a long long way from stockholm. I could be wrong.

KnC originally promised Jupiter at 250Gh/s for $7k.

sure, 7k without VAT and delivery during end of summer.)

Actually Xialla it was 250Gh/s delivered in 'early Autumn';

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=187428.0

Google states the following;

Quote
The astronomical fall (Northern Hemisphere) 2013 began on;

Sunday, September 22

and ends on;

Friday, December 20

Cypherdoc my stance always has been that I would like to work for them if they can really live upto their claims. They have and they asked me to come to Stockholm the weekend prior to the ASICs being received by hand courier to watch a very tense and stressful engineering feat and document it to the community, placing their necks firmly on the chopping board for all to see, warts and all, and let me document it. I haven't signed any contract yet, I haven't been paid yet, I haven't even received my own order yet.

They have never lied about performance specs or their intention to deliver on time.

People who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones...

no orama...see the very first post of knc.... Summer 2013 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg1771040#msg1771040

One of the deciding factors, after having done my due diligence and approximate calculations, was the part of the statement that said they (mining rigs) will be ready "by the summer of 2013".

This statement clearly avoids mentioning END of summer, and definitely does not say AFTER summer. Although I did not factor in an increase in hashing power, which clearly KNC SEEMS to be providing (as I have yet to receive my June 18th order), I did factor in an END OF SUMMER delivery in my calculations as part of my due diligence, as was quite happy with my figures and reasoning for purchasing a KNC Saturn.

Then of course we had KNC state a few promises of miner/network protection and their every famous "under promise, over deliver" statement, and the decision to purchase the Saturn was solidified. So, if KNC can figure out where it fell short for some/most of its customers, and if it can figure out how to stay true to their company motto, then ALL (KNC and customers) will come out of this endeavor satisfied.

Bitcoinorama, do you know why hosting customers orders are still showing "Paid" and not being moved into "In Progress?" I've been monitoring shipping and order changes and have seen anyone orders with later pay dates are moving ahead of hosted customers. Thanks in advance.

now don't quote me on this...but if knc is in stockholm, it appears their hosting center might be a whole days drive away. That could be part of the problem...but it does appear they are mining.

just out of curiosity, is anyone SOLO mining out of RENO NEVADA??

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I lived in Reno for a while just out of high school. While everyone knows it as Nevada's other gambling mecca, it's not as well known just how much industry is there. In 1990 when I left, they were busily rebuilding their entire telephony net to handle the load. As of about 98, they had gone fully fibre optic. Power is relatively cheap there as well. It would be a good place to set up. Also doesn't hurt that Nevada and the city of Reno both have a huge amount of tax incentives for new businesses, no personal income tax and really low corporate taxes. It's a good place to do business.

Besides that, it's the kind of place where if you can't have fun, you simply don't know how Smiley

i guess the better question is who is solo mining out of reno nv?

and secondly, IS THIS KNC MINING POOL STARTING TO FIND BLOCKS...OH MY...Huh?  IP ADDRESS 85.230.50.37
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 13, 2013, 01:10:46 PM
Well, we will see if they adress the compensation issue with their next update or not. I for one am pretty curious if they will honour UN trade law.

Mota, I imagine you would be happy with something that would help remedy/rectify the current situation? Maybe btc, maybe extra hashing power (from what is currently provided), maybe missed hashing days/btc credit towards more hashing power??
