2011 S2 Casascius

Lowest-mintage brass year+series combo. Nice.

Amazed these always sold for so much less than the 2011 S1 "error".
323  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Regret? on: November 27, 2017, 04:07:09 PM
Casascius coins also make you hold your coins if you have weaker hands. Everything about them is amazing when you think about it.

1) Rare
2) Pretty to look at
3) Makes you not impulse spend coins
4) They are offline storage
5) They collect endless shit coins

325  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling 1 x 5BTC and 1 x 1BTC 2012 loaded Casascius coins on: November 27, 2017, 02:59:00 PM
I have been offered 7btc from a USA buyer.  However, I am nervous about something going wrong along the way.  Therefore, I will consider a little less for a face-to-trace transaction.

So, what is the amount you are looking for these coins??

sniff sniff.

I know you want to jump in and bid  Tongue
326  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling 1 x 5BTC and 1 x 1BTC 2012 loaded Casascius coins on: November 27, 2017, 02:28:26 PM
7.1BTC
327  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Regret? on: November 27, 2017, 02:18:23 PM
When Bitcoin goes more mainstream the hope was that these draw collectors who do not care about premiums and want these coins. Look at regular rare coins these days...some go for ridiculous amounts. Casascius coins are only 6 years old.

free bump for a nice coin.

silver dealers dont wear gloves btw, hold them by the rim and you should be fine.

Yup

In the 'normal' coin collecting world dealers/collectors never wear gloves because:

1.  They only handle the rim of the coin.

2.  Gloves make it far more likely to damage the coin by dropping it.

Here are some good guidelines for handling your coins:

Edit to add:  nice coin OP

I have been telling people this for years and they ignore me. Bare hands are safer than gloves for multiple reasons.

Another reason is cotton gloves leave little fuzzies all over the place.

I remember the old noobie jail. When I first joined here I had to get vouched to skip it. Not sure how much it will help, but the spam is worse today then back then for sure.

They went for approx $200 in 2014..they do not make them anymore..hence me posting this want to buy post.

That sounds about right. I thought it was amazing so bought it ASAP. Once I used it I suddenly did not trust it since I didn’t generate they keys. After making 4 wallets it got tossed in a box and ignored until this thread.

You guys are nuts about the gloves. I know a few precious coin guys and they are the ones who said gloves are dumb. To each his own I suppose, but I have handled 100s of Cas coins this way.

kinda crappy laser ring on the holo, and scratched up as well.....what about pics with the coin OUTSIDE the plastic airtite? Yeah, 2.2BTC is laughable....

I'm open to offers on it, if you're interested please message me.

I don't have gloves at my house so would rather keep it in the airtite, I can assure you it's not scratched though, it's only been taken out once to move it to a better case. I cant comment on the position on the holo, that's wasn't in my control

You do not need gloves (I never use them anyways). You can hold the coins by the rim just make sure you wash your hands first.

It does look like a very useful device.

Didn't know there was such a thing.

Surely should fetch some interest.

Only downside is it's on thermal paper

The rolls that it came with were supposedly a higher quality thermal paper that would last 20 yrs minimum.  I've had a few sitting around my office in occasional sunlight for 2+ years and there's no fading.

Good to know, if there is anyone that wants to print me one i will pay for shipping! It would be cool to own

I will send you one. Send me over your address via PM.

Special thermal paper custom for long term printing. I forget the stats, but good for 20+ years. I have the paperwork and will read it and edit this post if interested.

There is also a public addy on the back of the unit...not sure why.

Got the piper out from storage and tested it. The best part is that it keeps track of how many prints and my test was #5... I guess I averaged 1 print per year  Cool

339  Economy / Securities / Re: Show me the way you guys do it. on: November 25, 2017, 03:58:18 PM
It is simple really...

Step 1: Buy Bitcoin

Step 2: Hold the Bitcoin

Step 3: Watch them grow in value

Step 4: Sell some whenever you feel they have gained enough profits
340  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] PIPER WALLET on: November 25, 2017, 03:45:01 PM
I have one I will sell you. What is the offer?
