1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution. E-SPORTS BETTING TEST WENT LIVE! on: July 08, 2014, 02:34:01 AM
can anyone help me with the wallet ? Yesterday it's fine but when I tried to start it now it says Runtime Error. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. I've tried re-downloading my wallet and deleting all files in AppData/Roaming/Minerals except the wallet.dat, but after the blockchain redownloaded this error appear again. Any help would be appreciated.

if ur on win7, right click the qt client and click properties and select "unlock" button and try again. if that doesnt work then im not sure. do you have the newest version of the wallet?

I just downloaded the wallet but it still shows the error. And what do you mean by select "unlock" ?

"unblock" sorry lol

it should be in the properties window of the minerals-qt.exe

Well it's still not working. Strangely if I use the no betting version of the wallet it starts just fine.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: low hashrate when mining x11 ? on: June 17, 2014, 03:25:55 AM
I seem to be able to figure it out by plugging my monitor to the 7970. If i plug the monitor to R9 270, the GPU 0 (HD 7970) shows 1.5 Mhash while the GPU 1 (R9 270) shows 800 Khash. But if I plug the monitor to the 7970 then unplug it then plug it to the R9 270 I get 1.5 Mhash on GPU 0 (HD 7970) and 2.7 Mhash on GPU 1 (R9 270). Doesn't a HD 7970 supposed to have a higher hashrate than a R9 270 ?

NB : I want to use the R9 270 to play games when I want to while the 7970 is mining and use both to mine when I don't want to play games.

wait a sec, which one is gpu 0 and which one is gpu 1 ? My 7970 is plugged to the PCIe slot above the R9 270, but my monitor is plugged to the R9 270
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: low hashrate when mining x11 ? on: June 17, 2014, 03:02:19 AM
still no luck. my 7970 is still at 700 Khash
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: low hashrate when mining x11 ? on: June 17, 2014, 02:27:06 AM
still didn't fix it. and if I change the driver to 14.6 beta i get my hashrate back but all HW error

I've tried restarting my machine and it didn't work
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / low hashrate when mining x11 ? on: June 17, 2014, 02:14:21 AM
I have a R9 270 and a HD 7970 on my PC and I use it to mine. Yesterday, it mine just fine with around 2 Mhash from the R9 270 and 3.3 Mhash from the 7970. But when i tried to mine now the r9 270 only produce around 1.2 Mhash and the 7970 around 700 Khash. My settings are  --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 256 -g 2 --gpu-engine 1160 --gpu-memclock 1450 --no-submit-stale and I'm using catalyst 14.4. But even with the gpu engine and the gpu memclock the sgminer only report 300 Core and 150 memclock from both the gpu. And I can't seem to change the clock speed reported by sgminer even with amd overdrive or msi afterburner. Any help would be appreciated.

currently i have a hd 6670 and a 7970 in my rig, the 6670 is used to play some light graphic games, and the 7970 is used for mining. in the motherboard the 6670 is the device 0 and 7970 is the device 1. if i game, is there any way to switch which gpu is used to play games ? let's say i play awesomenauts which isn't graphic heavy using 6670, but when i want to play skyrim i need the 7970. Can i switch to hd 7970 without changing it's slot ? btw my monitor is plugged to 6670 with hdmi
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which card is best bang for the buck to mine scrypt based coins? on: December 04, 2013, 06:57:58 AM
Anyone who is using radeon 7950 or R9 280X for mining scrypt based coins please let me know how much hash power you are getting.

I'm using hd 7970 non GHz which is i suppose same as R9 280X and i get about 700-730 khash @ 1038 core 1600 mem

The problem might be that your looking at folding like you do at Hashing.  They are totally separate things.  When hashing, your rate pretty much can stay stable from now til the end of time, because your doing small calculations over and over again.  It never differs.  In folding, sometimes a single fold will take 1-2 days, If your folding a 70k workload and it takes 0.75 of a day to finish it, your days will look like 75K / 150K / 75K / 150K.  If however you get put on a different project.  Say folding for a cancer cure as opposed to folding for a cure for Malaria, the calculations will be way different, and the time it takes to complete will vary dramatically as well.  The work units are set to pretty much equal out overtime.  so in the case of a 75K / 150K flip flop your avg is 112.5K per day

thanks for the explanation. another question, is folding really different from mining, because when I'm mining my GPU fan spins really loud, but when folding it doesn't make any sound. both shows 100% usage, and the temp is also lower when folding. both have the same OC, and I don't set any GPU related thing in my cgminer.

is 115k PPD for a 7970 @ 1039/1600 (is folding core or memory intensive ?) and i5 2500K @ 4.3 GHz a little low ?
