Hi, with latest version 0.19.10 and latest drivers 461.40 I get the following error and system hang with black screen:
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Any idea?

Yes, there are two issues:
1.Lower quality VRM and lower efficiency cooling solution on the Gaming X compared to Suprim (resulting in higher overall AND Vram temp)
2.Lower BIOS limit for throttling, as I have complained initially and it was proven by the users who used the Suprim Bios on the Gaming X.

MSI does not want to give a different tuned BIOS for the Gaming X.
So the conclusion remains, avoid this implementation if possible.

For an RTX 3080 with the latest drivers which CUDA version offers the best performance?

CUDA 11.1 version is the only one that works with 30xx GPUs
Thanks, so by random picking it I got it right. Smiley

I've been playing with my MSI 3080Gaming X Trio for the days.
It can't do more than 86MH/s, no matter the temperature.
Issue is in the BIOS as when power reaches 205W it throttles.

I am using MSI Curve with minimum allowable voltage, 0.725 (in reality 0.731), and 1125MHz.
If I use normal PL level it does not do more than 82MH/s.
Also it must have a minus 120MHz on the memory, if I give it more it throttles instantly to 60-70MH/s.

Stay away from the Gaming X for minig!

PS. Yes, you loose warranty if: you change BIOS with any BIOS not destined for Gaming X (exception the 2 official ones= OC mode and silent mode - tested both, same 205W throttle limit), or if you remove the seal on the 4th GPU screw.

It's very strange, as I saw on some reviews, this card have TDP of 340w right?

Source: Toms Hardware: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/msi-geforce-rtx-3080-gaming-x-trio-review

I have an EVGA 3080 and I'm doing 98 stable, with 230w on software and 250w at the wall - I did fan curve to reach 1200Mhs on core clock with 718mv - 70% TDP
3080s are power hungry, and if I reduce even 1%, the card start to hash a lot less Mhs

I think your 1125Mhz on core clock is low, here I need exactly 1200mhz

But I don't know why your card only have 205w until throttle

Is it possible your card is having this throttle because of memory temperature?
Maybe after hit some temperature, the bios reduce the wattage to cool the board

I also tried 1200MHz, 1225, 1250, 1300, etc
The Gaming X is pure crap.

After seeing the VRM analysis I understood why. It has an underwhelming implementation that does deliver the necessary power but because it cuts corners in quality so it overheats massively in doing it.
And as a cherry on the top, the VRM and memory cooling is not efficient as the cooler does not have a coper base plate but direct contact width the heat pipes (and also a small micro radiator which is covered with a thermal pad so no airflow can flow over it  Shocked).
That is the reason for throttling at exactly 205W.

So I sold it to some one else to use it for mining (he did not care about warranty and wanted to add the Suprim X BIOS).

Now I got instead for the same money a Suprim X which does:
100MH/s @ 0.725V with 1250MHz Core and + 1200MHz VRAM, 60% Fan (1800rpm).

Now I'm happy a camper  Grin

PS. @agente, please remove the Gaming X from your no throttle list as that is a pure lie!

Hi I am new to T-Rex and tried just to run it to see how it goes but it can't connect to any pool with the default setup:

That is a fair question. At this point for staking in browser there is no way to use it encrypted so the security is only in the hands of the computer user (have a good AV solution like BItDefender).
Best practice to avoid this is run a very small VM in which you install Linux terminal miner and use encrypted wallet for staking. But this takes a higher degree of knowledge.

The code has been published and the block number for the fork should be: 1.000.000
Get ready!

Please read the whitepaper or the info available about WEBD.
No where does it state that WEBD is a stable coin or linked/tethered in any way shape or form to any fiat currency.
This is a pure crypto with unique blockchain and tradable on exchanges agains USD/ETH/BTC.
Price is created like for BTC by supply VS demand.

Hi, and welcome.
The available balance is the real WEBD you own.
The potential, as the name says, is only a rough estimation, and is not guarantied to transform in available.
To get constant payments you need to have considerable CPU power and only mine in a pool that does have enough miners to catch POW blocks. Here you can check in the pie graph winch pools catch winch kind of blocks: https://www.webdscan.io/stats

But easiest way to mine is to just buy some WEBD from exchanges and then stake it (POS mining).

HI Thanks For Ur help,
I still have some doubts i am currently mining on (WEB DOLLAR POOL WIN ) and have a potential balance of 608 WEBD so it means i wont ever see this balance ever transferred to my available balance ?

And the link for the kinds of blocks u posted i checked there for pow pools how can i join those pool as they are not listed on the webdollar.io website?

Thanks
Those miners that don't have names are private pools and you can't join (as the owners mine only for themselves privately).
You need to join a public pool that has a listed name in the pie graph. Choose the statistics for the last 1 day and choose POW. You will see WMP is listed there.
For POW to be more efficient mine with Linux terminal, not Windows or browser. Windows is only good for POS mining (the easiest to use in browser).
For POW mining, the terminal in Linux is 10X faster as is has a CPP optimized miner that was introduced by some guys mining with farms.
For all of us to be able to compete with them the devs offered this CPP miner opensource but in Linux (it can't be deployed in Windows for technical reasons).

Also, never ever mine solo, always use pools, for both POW and POS, for both terminal mining or browser mining.
You can only mine solo if you have a data-center of servers for POW or a few hundred million of WEBD for POS.

PS. Join the Telegram channels (Official, Pools channel and technical channel) for more help and more active users.

Before coming to conclusions read a few descriptions of how it actually works, or watch some videos.
First of all, every time you reload the page or restart the browser mining you get randomly sent to a mining pool, and every time you need to go and manually chose the one you were mining from the beginning.
Or just use the direct pool links and not the main web-page with the pool selector (you can find the direct pool links here as a pinned message: https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@webdpools)
Second, as it has been mentioned again and again, teh POW CPU mining is extremely competitive, this means you need a powerful CPU to be able to mine something.
But that is not all, as you need to choose a pool that actually catches POW blocks. This is because most pools only have POS miners, so they never catch POW blocks.
Two pools that now catch blocks are BACM and Europool, the others only have staking POS miners so they only catch POS blocks and only will pay if you stake WEBD.

So, do your research and then draw conclusions.

PS. and to be a POW CPU competitive miner you would need at least 80CPU cores to see some results (or at least two Thereadripper systems). In my experience ideally would be over 1000CPU cores (so you can compete with the data-center mining).
It is just too competitive for simple home systems. It's just like any other crypto where if people see potential they invest a lot of money in resources to mine it.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WEBD][CPU][POW&POS] 🌍 WebDollar - Currency of the Internet | in browser on: June 02, 2019, 12:50:25 PM
POW it's not a priority any more and people mine it with data centers.
With a simple laptop you will not see payments even for a week. Also the terminal miner is 10X more efficient and can't be reproduced in the browser (to get the browser at the same efficiency).
So the direction is only one: POS. Everybody should focus on it and that is where the beauty and ease of WEBD remains.
Most of us have given up completely even terminal POW mining as it is not profitable, not by far. You earn a lot more by investing directly in WEBD and stake it.

The good thing about the data-center miners is that they unload cheap and everybody can buy now while it lasts.
And maybe in the future the percentage of POW will be reduced even lower than 33%.

That is totaly wrong.
Install a clean ubuntu virtual machine and follow the steps in tutorial, let me know the result.
If you come to any errors like I dont know oh in tutorial missing to restart ubuntu first or anything any any error dont fix them! just follow tutorial

That is just throwing words randomly and nod being able to do a copy paste.
For the Linux miner you just need a Ubuntu 18.04  updated and then just paste the steps in the tutorial.
I've installed today 9 terminals all by hand, manually (no scripting no automation besides the one included in the tutorial). So don't tell me it does not work.
I mined from POW 12417 WEBD just today with 800Kh/s.

You are exaggerating badly. As I said ,if there are some glitches that will eventually get fixed. It's not perfect but a work in progress as most blockchain systems.

I have answered in the Telegram channels multiple times that is does not work correctly on mobiles, even if you set it up in desktop mode (and obviously is not recommended as you can easily damage your phone because of the heat). At least not for mining, for sending coins yes, you can do that with high degree of success.
The Androind app was not updated and that is no secret. There is a sort of monitoring app introduced that works OK though.

What would be nice is an updated Android App for staking. (as mining POW from the phone is purely an exercise, it makes no sense taking into account the difficulty on the network) But there are limited dev resources so if there are people from the community who would be interested into helping coding this part they will definitely be rewarded fairly in WEDB.

Anyway, I think the devs should also answer some of your questions in their own words as I am only speaking in my name alone.

You are funny. With the current hashrate on the chain you can't compete without terminal mining. It's simple math.  You could have done this if you were here an year ago at the main-net launch.

Even BTC was designed to be mined initially with CPUs, but that did not last long when people saw the incentive and started finding our more competitive ways of mining it. It is an open source project and anyone can code a better miner. So that is why the Terminal CPP miner is 10X faster that the browser. You can't stop that, you need to adapt.

This is also one of the reasons that staking was introduced (among many other). Staking (POS) is now the easy mining alternative of WEBD.
Just buy coins and stake (or wait for the bounty program and win through tasks), POW became more complicated because of the competition and evolution in time.

No one has a magic wand to limit the number of miners and amount of servers they dedicate so that you can profitably mine yourself with a simple PC in browser.

Yes there might be some bugs that you come across but as the team is rather small it does take time for them to fix everything and also create new features like cold staking which is coming next.
