1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 01, 2017, 04:55:20 PM
hey guys, just ordered my S9. I didn't order a PSU though, since I'm in the US and wouldn't get full power.

I do have other power supplies that can pump out 1500W at 12V, however, I'm not sure how I would wire it up to power the S9. Is there any place I can get this information? Looking for the type of connectors and the pinouts. Would save me a bit of money vs picking up another PSU when I have a source already.

Thanks!

Noob question here...

I don't have an S9, but I'm curious, if one of the boards fails, can you unplug it and let the other continue trucking along?

Will bitmain accept sending in just one board for replacement or would they want the entire unit?

I want to buy one, but I'm hesitant. I can handle poor reliability with good customer service, I can handle poor customer service with good reliability, but both? definitely has me hesitating.
3  Economy / Service Discussion / What's been your experience buying from BitMain? on: November 28, 2017, 01:49:52 AM
I'd like to get into mining and like everyone else and their mama, I want the S9.

Having done a bit of research though, looks like Bitmain doesn't exactly have the best reputation for customer service. What's more, it seems that if you have a problem with your S9, Bitmain will screw you over in trying to get it fixed or replaced.

Before I go down this rabbit hole of mining, I want to hear from people who have dealt with Bitmain and have experience with the S9. Are the failures I've read about a matter of inadequate cooling, truly faulty units, or something else?

Please let me know.
