KuCoin Will Start the Aion (AION) MainNet Token Swap

KuCoin will start the Aion (AION) MainNet swap and complete the MainNet token swap automatically for AION holders.

To ensure the smooth release of the AION MainNet and the proceeding of the swap, KuCoin will close the AION deposit and withdrawal services temporarily at 16:00:00, Nov 7, 2018 (UTC+8).

 

Note:

During and after the swap, the original ERC20 deposit address of AION will become invalid and you will lose your tokens if you deposit tokens to this address.
After the MainNet swap, your AION asset will be securely swapped to the MainNet and the system will generate a new MainNet coin deposit address for you. Please use this new address for deposit after we reopen the deposit and withdrawal services. Do not use the original ERC20 address, or you will lose your assets.

Complexity is what occurs when there are a bunch of different nodes connecting to each other. The number of connections goes up exponentially, as does the way they can interact with each other. And just as there are nodes on networks, each network forms its own node in the total ecosystem.

The blockchain ecosystem has grown a massive amount over the last 3 years, and it is continuing to grow. This has created growing pains in terms of compatibility and interoperability, which in turn are creating opportunities for companies like AION to step in with their solution.

Progress is Being Made
Since AION was funded by a token sale in October 2017, they have made significant progress. The company was started by Nuco, the same company that created Deloitte’s blockchain arm.  This year they have both launched their mainnet and their pool software, and their roadmap shows many more new goals being reached in the near future. AION is definitely a “big picture” type of company, and the industry needs a solution like this right now.

Facebook’s power isn’t in its technology, but in the network effects it has. There are so many people currently using Facebook that it naturally draws more people to its network on a daily basis. AION’s goal is to do the same thing for the entire blockchain network, which in their eyes, would make it “business-ready”.

The Problems AION Needs to Solve
The three key problems that need to be solved are regarding scalability, interoperability, and privacy. Businesses are naturally hesitant to move any aspect of their operations onto the blockchain while major issues still exist.

Scalability issues are a constantly brought up problem with blockchain technology in general, as efficiency tends to erode as the companies hit critical scale. AION is essentially proposing an ecosystem-like solution that will solve this problem in a roundabout way.

Interoperability is another critical issue that leaves many companies skeptical about the risks of blockchain. They don’t want to have all their data tied to one network, with an inability to move it around. Think of it in the same way that users of Facebook have all their data and friends tied to that one social network, and are locked in. Businesses don’t want this to happen to them.

Finally, there is the privacy issue. Having transparent transactions isn’t something all companies are going to find acceptable, which is why AION is working to create private solutions that will ease the worries of companies.

AION’s Investment Case
Like everything else in the crypto industry, AION went through a massive downtrend starting at the beginning of the year, experiencing a bounce in May. AION is currently trading at $0.402 USD, and has been trading relatively flat over the last few months.

This creates a solid buying opportunity for those interested in the use case, as this feels like a floor for the coin. There are several other projects with a similar goal to AION, however for those who find the current pricing appealing, AION may be purchased on Binance.

About the Brand-new Maker-Taker Mechanism
The users can act as both the Maker and the Taker. The transaction fee is stipulated as follows:
1.Maker: When the transaction is executed, BCEX will reward 0.1% to the Maker.
2.Taker: Transaction fees is 0.2% for each transaction, including purchase orders and sales orders.
Note:
If the user makes a deal with himself or herself, the user is both Maker and Taker. BCEX will charge the transaction fee of 0.2% and reward 0.1% to the user, that is, the user shall pay 0.1% transaction fee in the process of making a deal.

Aion has started their process of swapping the Ethereum tokens into coins of the main Aion network. Tokens are swapped on a 1:1 ratio. You will get the exact same amount of Aion coins as you have tokens. An overview of the process can be condensed into two steps:
Open https://bridge.aion.network/ and enter the token amount and your mainnet Aion address, so the website generates some data required for the swap.
From the Ethereum wallet in Coinomi, send a 0 ETH transaction to Aion's contract address, pasting the data generated by the bridge website.

If you're not familiar with the process, below are super-detailed step-by-step instructions you should follow:
If you haven't already, create an Aion coin wallet in Coinomi. Open the left side menu, select "+coins" and add Aion from the list.
Open your Aion coin wallet, navigate to your "receive" page and copy your address.
Open https://bridge.aion.network/ and close the small popup message using the "x" or clicking outside of it.
On the "amount" field, select the amount of tokens you want to swap. You may wish to test with a small amount first.
On the "address" field, paste your mainnet Aion address you copied on step 2. Verify that the address is correct.
Check the box saying you verified the address and that you accept their terms after reading them.
Click the "generate transfer" button.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, there will be four values: (1) to address, (2) value, (3) gas limit and (4) data. You will only need (1) and (4).
Open Coinomi and select the Ethereum wallet (do not open the Aion token wallet).
On the send screen, paste the (1) "to address" of the website as the destination address. Select "Ethereum" from the popup list.
Set the value to send as 0 ETH (do not leave it blank, you must explicitly set it to zero)
Select the "advanced settings" button, and on the "input data" field paste the (4) "data" from the website.
Leave the other settings unchanged (Coinomi automatically calculates the gas limit)
Send and confirm the transaction. Make sure you have at least 0.002 ETH to cover the transaction fees.
You can track the progress of the swap by pasting the ID of the transaction on the top search bar of https://bridge.aion.network/
Once the swap is complete, you should not see an incoming transaction, since that is done internally via Aion's smart contracts. You will see your Aion balance reflect the swap directly.
