1  Economy / Services / Re: I'll Do Odd Jobs for You on: February 23, 2024, 07:16:24 PM
I do not know what the job offer was but clearly OddJobsForBitcoin is a bizarre account that seems to have no interest in actually doing any jobs whatsoever. He has not done any jobs for any member therefore no member will vouch for him either with a character reference or for completed job. Even if he was not interested in what you offered, the very least he could done was to send a courtesy reply politely declining.

Give me that odd job you want done.
Bro it is still really appreciated to reply to One's DM even if you are not interested in doing the job One asked you.
being responsive shows that how professional you are .

My apologies. Though I made it clear in my service ad that I do not accept anything "unethical."  Anyway, if you have something more "ethical" I wouldn't mind doing an odd job for you at a discount.
that was not unethical by any means.
I asked him to find a buyer for my signature space (isn't this odd enough? lol)
but now I see he's trying to sell his own signature space instead  Undecided. At first I thought he misunderstood my task. but apparently that is not the case. he just replied and told me he can't give me any guarantee so I told him to not proceed then. there is no point in doing something if you doubt that you might not succeed.  Wink

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about Arbitrum future? on: February 13, 2024, 05:31:47 AM
To be honest is worth buying but the ecosystem is using ETH as the main gas fee and the another problem is there is a lot of Layer2 Nowadays that bring their own unique capability.

But the Layer 2 Coin is still worth buying for now because Ethereum Gas fee is f*cking crazy and layer 2 is saving ton of it.

The fee is back to their PoW level I think
You are right about that there are many Layer2 Projects popped up last year. competition became so high for Arbitrum so users will probably be divided among all of those layer2 chain which could reduce Arbitrum value in future.
but that depends on how hard working their team is and what they bring to attract new users and keep their existing users engaged. Their big success was became possible because of their huge airdrop.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A blog about someone planning to retire early with Bitcoin on: February 12, 2024, 12:22:23 PM
The other day I've found this interesting blog about someone in Europe planning to retire early by converting a fixed amount of their monthly salary into Bitcoin.

He started doing this in the bull market of 2017 and keeps doing it every month, no excuses. A specific amount, 500 euros, is always converted into Bitcoin and stored away in cold storage.
Thats called DCA. one of the most famous and effective method of investing and accumulating Bitcoin in the community.
but he's doing that on a larger scale. 500 euros is a great amount of money to invest in bitcoin regularly..

This is how his strategy looks like:

As you can see, the BTC stack in orange always keeps going up, making it a personal ATH for him every time.

In a black dashed line is the actual total invested in fiat, which simply increases by 500 euro every month.

And in green you can see the value in fiat(euro) of his current amount of Bitcoin. This one of course varies a lot depending on the current price of Bitcoin.

You can clearly see that it has been an incredibly great savings strategy so far, obtaining a lot more value than simply saving in fiat.

I'll leave you guys with the url of the blog: https://er-bybitcoin.com

In the end, perseverance seems to be the key here. He's not putting an incredible amount of money down every month, but still he has managed to obtain a lot of Bitcoin, 4.47 BTC from his last update.

Have you tried something similar?, maybe now thinking about doing it?, I think it's a great idea.
that's really an impressive achievement for him. and a lesson for everyone who have little bit of doubt on Bitcoin or DCA method . it proves that, it really works.  see how big the gap is between his investment and current value.
even with smaller amount, great profit can be achieved with this strategy.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 12, 2024, 10:51:06 AM
For now, bitcoin is my biggest source of income. Well, not actually bitcoin but the forum itself, but I also see to it that I never fail on accumulating and storing bitcoin on my portfolio as I believe that bitcoin’s value in the future will become huge and massive that makes it an ideal retirement for everyone. Bitcoin is risky and quite complicated and complex, but if you have the high motivation to engage with bitcoin, you will do everything just to make it happen so you won’t keep regretting in the end.
Bitcoin should not be complicated for those people who regularly use internet. with a little bit of learning and studying bitcoin is pretty easy to understand. the risk factor is true I agree with you on that. but can be minimized with proper techniques.

Sure, I got into crypto later than a lot of people.  And no, I don't have one of them Lambos or anything.  But I'll tell you what - finally being able to pay off some debts and sleep better at night? That's my little taste of freedom.  Bitcoin did that for me.  It gave me hope during some real tough times these past few years.  And Ill always be grateful for that.

You know man. it always feels so good to see how bitcoin is changing people's lives. and so this forum. Bitcoin is not just giving us freedom it is also empowering us and helping us solve our financial problems that we could've never solved with regular Fiat jobs.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im good with shorting binance on: February 11, 2024, 11:33:52 AM
Im good with shorting on binance.
ID like to Open my trading group where followers can donate some rewards afrer few successful signals.
Follow here my short signals to see my work.

Right now i took the short pos MDT/USDT  entry: 0.05380$  my tp would be: 0.053$
I know several trading provider groups who charge small monthly fee for providing trading signals. you can do something like that. but finding people who subscribe to your group would take a lot of efforts and time.
You need to prove that your trading signals are accurate by providing them for free.
Not sure about this forum but social media platforms are best for such activities. specially Twitter.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: February 11, 2024, 11:29:06 AM
So I have been trying to wrap my head around which is a better option, day trading crypto or buying for long term keep.
Day trading is better in my opinion. Day trading have better chances to grow your holding for long term. but there are cons of day trading too that you need to understand. like risk of losing, etc. as you mentioned in your post.
and long term holding is good if you are not experienced trader or too afraid to take risk. then you should go with long term holding only.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: February 08, 2024, 03:55:17 PM
While nothing new for the hardcore users & enthusiasts around Monero, our team has written up a summary of the debate about the pending delisting from large exchanges such as Binance  Smiley

This didn't age well lol. Binance is actually delisting Monero.

but I am pretty optimistic about that. I think Menoro is better without Centralized exchanges. If team behind monero stay strong. they'll recover from this unfortunate time sooner or latter. but they will.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Axie Infinity - A new Ethereum game similar to CryptoKitties [SPECIAL PRE-SALE] on: February 08, 2024, 03:28:22 PM
My friend bought this token above $100 and bear market make him collector)))
By token you must mean their nft characters. because none of their tokens had ever traded above $100.
They have 3 tokens. SLP. AXS, and RONIN
SLP is their In game token which is also used to reward people for playing game.
AXS is their governance token.
and RONIN is the latest addition which is native Coin of their Ronin Blockchain.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zeta Chain - What is Your Opinion ? on: February 07, 2024, 01:15:35 PM
Zetachain recently airdrop to their dedicated testnet users who consistently did the testnet since 2022.
The testnet task where based on doing swap task and claiming points weekly.
I tried to follow up with the test task but I wasn't consistent enough so my allocation was small compare to those who accumulate huge points.

Well zetachain currently running a mainnet xp campaign. I have started accumulating xp and I believe this is another opportunity for earn zeta for the second time.

*What do you guys think about Zetachain as a project?
*Are you participating in the maninet campaign?
*Where you lucky with the first airdrop?
*Are you accumulating zeta for the bull season?
Zetachain you say?
Hmmmm. name sounds familiar. I think I have heard about it couple times in social media or somewhere. but don't really recall. I guess I just didn't pay attention and just thought of it another random project.
So obviously i was not one of those lucky people who got first airdrop. and  I am not sure about participating their mainnet either. I might do that if i get extra time.
15  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: February 07, 2024, 01:06:37 PM
To add to what I said above, I think someone might have asked this question before a very long time ago and if I remember correctly theymos even commented on it if someone wants to do some digging to see what he said.
Yobit and Cryptotalk had their signature campaign to shill Cryptotalk forum in 2019. Because initially it was a spam campaign, Bitcointalk community reacted to it and yahoo took over the campaign to clean spammers from participant list.

theymos even banned the Yobit account here because of abuse and some spammers from that campaign but eventually, he allowed Cryptotalk forum to advertise here via a signature campaign under yahoo62278.

I don't think that was it. I think someone else directly asked whether it was OK or allowed to advertise a competing forum and thyemos gave his opinion.
would love to know what Theymos said. I wish someone could dig that post up.
but I can assume theymose probably said he's ok with that. I don't see why would he not allow posting about other forums when thousands of other websites of any kind being promoted everyday here.
That's the beautify of this forum to give full freedom of it's users. as long as they stay constructive and use related boards to post their topics.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR Zcash and other private coins are getting delisted from binance on: February 06, 2024, 11:53:15 AM
Personally i think this is a good buying opportunity. Fuck the regulatories. We need to show them we are bigger than them.

You are right. but I think that is for very long term. don't know about other projects but I am sure monero will get through this. It'll take time tho. but if someone has money and patience then he might considering filling his monero bag now. NFA

Now I wonder... when will theymos ban discussing privacy coins because the authorities don't like them?

Hahaha. I hope a public discussion forum will not fall victim of govts. if privacy coins get blacklisted by every place then I am afraid the situation might be a lot worse for them than we are thinking.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DO NOT plug random cables and sticks into your device. on: February 06, 2024, 11:47:08 AM
Good information bro.
I have a question. is it risky to connect external hard desk via Usb too? and I have a 2 earbuds that i charge from my laptop by connecting them via USB. are they risky too?

Besides that I also heard that devices can be hacked via bluethooth too. we should be careful about that too.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AI-generated fake IDs claimed to pass crypto exchange KYC are selling for $15 on: February 06, 2024, 11:34:15 AM
Shockingly it is just $15 to get a fake AI generated driver licenses and passports. It has been reportedly succeeded KYC verification on many crypto exchanges.

The site, OnlyFake, generates realistic fake driver’s licenses and passports from 26 countries, including the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia and multiple European Union countries, and takes payment in multiple cryptocurrencies through Coinbase’s commercial payments service.

Exchange users need to be careful. People are many on centralized exchanges and this makes it for scammers to look for people to scam.

In our own tests, OnlyFake created a highly convincing California driver's license, complete with whatever arbitrary name, biographical information, address, expiration date, and signature we wanted. The photo even gives the appearance that the ID card is laying on a fluffy carpet, as if someone has placed it on the floor and snapped a picture, which many sites require for verification purposes. 404 Media then used another fake ID generated by this site to successfully step through the identity verification process on OKX.

We have been hearing about this type of fake verification since many years ago.. It is not new.
this is very concerning.
but it is the fault of OKX's KYC system too. most exchanges have facial recognization features too in their kyc requirements. you have to open your mobile webcam and complete a facial recognization test.
I don't know why a prominent exchange like OKX missing that.
19  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance alternatives on: February 06, 2024, 11:10:42 AM
Binance is an exchange. Why store bitcoin on an exchange. Not your key not your coin.

Store your coins on noncustodial wallet.

Use passport hardware wallet for bitcoin
Electrum for small amount
Trezor hardware for altcoins and bitcoin
Binance is fine for holding small funds. specially when you are not planning to hold them or long term. which is true in OPs case. for regular spenders like us binance is more convenient than any external wallet. where can easily withdraw them using P2p, or trade them if needed. or participate in Binance launchpool campaigns to earn some extra tokens.

You suggestions are good if the person planning to hold his funds for long term or he has a lot of funds. I never keep more than $10k in Binance.

Proven honeypot websites – BEWARE!

Crystalblockchain.com Bitcoin block explorer  |  proof
Walletexplorer.com  |  proof
CipherTrace.com Bitcoin block explorer  |  proof

Contested claims
Very useful information. I must appreciate your work. but these 3 websites are not only honeypot websites. there are so many more. it is a lot of work to collect all of them with proof so I hope you slowly update the thread.

I used to visit Walletexplorer a lot in old days. but thankfully not using them now. and after reading this post. I would never do that in future.. Privacy is important in Crypto world.
