1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Proportional Payout Pools with 5% Finder Reward on: July 31, 2013, 05:51:12 PM
I am currently using the Alphacoin pool, but something is not working right.  For hours and hours, two blocks show no more confirmations.  Block 122,811 shows as 76 more confirmations required and Block 122,806 shows as 71 confirmations left.  They have been at those numbers since mid morning.

What's wrong?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Proportional Payout Pools with 5% Finder Reward on: July 26, 2013, 03:19:36 AM
We'll have to review these pools, Fastcoin, Megacoin, AnonCoin, FrankoCoin.  They were running great for over a month , until a week ago when we got a LOT of traffic.  The coins are getting paid out because we are getting less and less from the fees.  It will take some time to look at how the payouts have distributed amongst the miners.  I suggest you move to other pools as we will most likely reinvent the core code to use the stratum server to do more along the lines of alerting block discovery immediately without cron job polling of the coin client.  Other things need to be optimized for when we get large hashing power.  Once we got over 300mhs on a pool.. it stopped behaving normally.  We are not scamming!  We are not short coins on any pool, and we are not even holding any more than the fees should have produced.  Somehow even we are getting screwed here and we are working on finding out why.

Thanks for taking the time to address the issue.  When you get it fixed, let me know and I will be back at the pool for another swim.

I believe it's scam.  Huh

Why are they a "scam"? Do you have any other input aside from the question mark frowning face? Clearly, lots of people here are getting paid for viewing websites via Bitvisitor.  You can look at the transactions I quoted above where they paid out over 6 BTC in one day to dozens of people.  Perhaps back up your accusations...

They never pay me for the hours of work I do. do not trust these people they will not send the payment!
I have received 17 payments from them since the 13th of July.  Perhaps you did not enter a correct address.
Do they payout with the same address?
If so, can you copy it on here? I want to check if they've been paying me, thanks.

Are you asking if they payout from the same address?  It does not seem so. Here is the transaction ID from the last payment.  They sent out a lot of dough to a lot of people (3.27 BTC), I being only one of them: a53d8189216756765955b187a2c4ac06d82fa2c8fbb9da8ac391421c94887c9b

The previous payment was transaction ID: 7812363c11e2b3ebabe60c518a124c91f8d81d7e5f519f81b060d32195a5b2ef in which they sent out another 3.33 BTC to various people, myself included.

Once again, I suspect that those people that are not getting the higher paying links are simply not in the "targeted" demographics.  Perhaps it is your geographic location, language settings, browser, etc.  And those that blithely state that Bitvisitor is scam are just downright annoying.  Clearly, tons of people here are getting paid - very regularly.  If you are not, most likely the problem is on your end.  Who knows, perhaps these people are total asshats, but for the time being they are doing exactly what they say they will do - they are giving you bitcoins for free!

I am diffenately having a problem with FST.  Mining at about 500k and not getting squat.  Hours and hours and only 14 FST?  Also, I am showing about 550k most of the time on my end, but my stats never show me above 400k.  Going to have to find another pool I guess, or switch coins.

The top of the page is not showing the accumulated total for me either, but I am still getting payments and the amounts seem about right.  Also, I am still getting high amounts per ad.  Generally they start out in the 80-90's and then drop down into the 20-50s but pick back up again later in the day when I go through them once more.  Today, I even got a 104 ad.  That was a first.  Maybe the ads are targeted to your area/language/etc.

Hi BadBitcoin,

Thanks for your comments.  We are still adding more items daily.  It is somewhat of a pain, but do check back as we have a good sized inventory.

Thanks again,

Mark
10  Economy / Goods / Men's Clothing Site - Bitcoins Only and Free Shipping Coupon on: July 19, 2013, 02:00:33 PM
Hi all,

I have a clothing site that sells new and used items for men.  I decided to make the site bitcoin only - no fiat.  I have been selling on eBay and accept BTC and LTC for auctions there, but thought a BTC-centric website would be a great way to jump head-first into bitcoin.

In any case, I have some inventory up and ready and am adding lots of stuff each day.  Just added a bunch of new and used Hollister and Brooks Brothers.

As an incentive, BitcoinTalk members can get free shipping on orders of BTC0.8 or more, using the coupon code "talkfree" (without the quotes). Also, if you signup as a member on the site (free), you get Reward Points for each purchase that can be used for future purchases.

Thanks in advance,

Ok.  fast.minepool.net seems to be back up.  At least, I am able to get there again and my account seems to be intact.

Thanks,

Mark

NO... that pool is not up.  It has not been up for a number of days and I am out my entire fastcoin balance as a result.  (Not much, mind you - around 200 coins) Angry

Here is a screen shot from today.  And I have been paid out twice today.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What happened to the minepool.net Fastcoin pool? on: July 14, 2013, 05:18:46 AM
I am getting a default webpage now and the miners cannot connect.  If you go to the minepool.net page, Fastcoin is not listed there.  What is going on?
17  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: bitvisitor scam? on: July 14, 2013, 04:34:27 AM
Routinely, I get 88 or 96 uBTC from them.  Not every day mind you, but frequently.  It is certainly not a scam and getting 96 uBTC is not a lie either.  The site can be quite slow, but they do pay out.

Like I said... why not try it for a few minutes.  Did that - moving on...
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GiGaCoin The Coin of the Future! on: July 13, 2013, 06:39:22 PM
Well,

That was a colossal waste of time.  Mined for a while and was making some coin.  Then, the dashboard on the pool's site changes.  It no longer shows your shares, your balances, etc.  Instead it shows an estimate of what you will mine in 24h, 7d, 14d.  All of my coins dissipated as well as most of my shares and the site seems to be stuck on block 34804.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GiGaCoin The Coin of the Future! on: July 13, 2013, 06:13:34 PM
Now I am really confused.  The "Top Share Contributers" (that should be "Top Share Contributors" I believe) grid shows me with 96 shares but my stats on the left show only 38.  If that is just for this round, then why is my balance at zero GGC?
