1341  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty curve on: September 11, 2013, 04:09:03 PM

Cointerra is set to deliver December/January and they look serious so I would say it will take longer than that to leave the exponential (on average).

Yes, but say, for example (and I do not know how much they have sold) KnC deliver 2 PH in October, to keep the exponential BFL/HF/Cointerra etc would need to deliver what, 8PH before Jan to keep up the rate? I can't see that happening can you?
1342  Local / Mining (Italiano) / Re: byteminr.com hosted hashing on: September 11, 2013, 08:33:12 AM

If I understand the google translation correctly ;-). I would say that although our contracts naturally expire after 12 months, we recognise this and will offer preferential rates to existing customers for new contracts when theirs cease. Loyalty is important to us.

We also believe that it is better to buy a virtual rig where you can increase the power steadily over 12 months if you want and need to - much like adding additional capacity to a web server as traffic increases.

Ultimately we imagine a truly elastic mining cloud, like Amazon hosting, where you can buy mining capacity in different sizes and use it for different coins as the crypto-currency market develops.

This is just the beginning!

1343  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Group buy alternative - byteminr.com on: September 10, 2013, 08:43:42 PM
Thats a gorgeous website, let us know when you get your first machine - I will buy a part of it.

Where in the UK are you ?

Thanks for the compliments. Smiley

Our registered office is in London, but our hosting location is not public knowledge, it's staying that way for security reasons.

Most of our launch capacity is already pre-sold, still a few TH left but not much. We do have a number of people waiting for us to confirm delivery before they buy. I understand that completely, but we do have limited capacity at launch.

1344  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Thoughts on the future of mining? on: September 10, 2013, 10:11:58 AM

Byteminr looks like a cloudhashing clone.  You even use KNC miner as well.

It's not really the same. We provide virtual rigs, that our customers can control. It's much more analogous to owning a rig at home, where you can increase or decrease the power, change pools and (in the future) change which coins you mine for, even change the mining software you use will be possible on our platform as it develops.

1345  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Virtual Mining on KnCMiner Hardware on: September 10, 2013, 10:07:27 AM
Any chance of cheap scrypt rig colocation?

For the moment no unfortunately, we are only hosting our own boxes, something we may well consider in the future.

Have you started hashing?

Not yet, expected within 3 weeks, the clock is ticking!

1347  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Difficulty curve on: September 10, 2013, 09:51:34 AM

It's an exponential right now, but in a few months this curve will look much more like an 'S' curve.

The question is when will it start to tail off?

My guess is December, what does everyone else think?
1348  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining returns description - trying to keep it simple on: September 10, 2013, 09:41:55 AM

Only three words for the mining.

Safe cracking game.

Description:
Each 10 minutes,  There is a "treasure safe" appeared, You have to find a way to crack the combination to grab the prize as quick as possible. This is the game.

Thanks, this will help I'm sure. We're working on some new explainer videos and trying to work out the balance between making it sound too simple and therefore inaccurate, and too complex and worrying for newbies.
1349  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: When KnCMiner pool switches on 240+ TH/sec will these other pools fold up? on: September 09, 2013, 02:29:48 PM
I'm a noob, so humor me as I wrap my head around what might happen when the KnCMiner pool switches on.  Only Jupiter machines will be involved.  Each ASIC box capable of .4+ TH/sec.  So figure 600 boxes (my guess is 10% of units sold) all hosted by KnC = 240+ TH/sec round the clock, right?

Metaphorically speaking, that's like 600 Bucyrus RH400 hydraulic shovels vs a few hundred guys with teaspoons.

Thoughts?  Are my numbers way off?  Corrections appreciated.

There is likely to be some massive swings in the relative sizes of the pools in the coming months. From the end of September to  the mid of Jan there is a heck-of-a-lot of power being added to the network, like never before. KnC do seem like they will be first to add a large amount of hashing power in September and October so expect some large spikes all over the place while it settles down.

After we get through this massive increase in difficulty and hashing rates, the first quarter of next year will be much more sedate. There is just not the demand to keep doubling the network hash rate for the same returns. In my view the coin price needs to rise a lot now to pay back all the investment that's been poured into mining in the past 4 (and next 2) months.

Hi Everyone

I wanted to just make a short statement about our motives.

We want many people to be able to mine. If I do not sell mining contracts I cannot buy equipment, so I am not faced with a choice of whether to mine for myself or not. I can only operate for other people. Since without customers my business does not exist, I pass on the large portion of the rewards to them.

That's our motive, plain and simple!

Adrian

Apologies if the translation is poor Sad

Ciao a tutti

Hi,

I am doing a deep research on all the available mining contracts

Opened or in process of open accounts at :

1) http://cloudhashing.com/
2) http://www.bitcoinfrenzy.com
3) http://www.minerlease.com/
4) http://www.bitcoinhashing.com

If you know another operating or close to be operating contractors please let me know.

Also I am starting  a website to publish related info and the experiences I get with each one.

Just to let everyone know, we are open for orders now, with mining still expected to begin at the end of September. (pending hardware delivery)

We have 3 configurations of virtual rig on offer for a fixed 12 month term and also the ability to configure you own contract with varying power if you so wish.

Check us out if you are interested in a hosted mining offer. I hope you'll find that our approach to business is a lot more honest than some of our competitors. I have seen some mining contracts making some incredible claims. Mining services like ours may well become a regulated activity in the future, we are starting as we mean to go on. Honest, clear and no false claims.

We'll be adding more newbie friendly information to our site in the coming weeks, mining should not be the preserve of the rich or the highly knowledgable, everyone should be able to take part and be given the right information to understand the risks anad enjoy mining.

We have a lot of exciting plans for the future of our platform with support for other coins in the future.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or drop us a line on support@byteminr.com

Happy Hashing

But sometimes  buying coins is more complicated than buying miner  Wink

This is still sadly true for many !
1354  Economy / Securities / Re: Is cloudhashing.com for real? on: September 08, 2013, 07:15:37 AM
http://www.byteminr.com/

Try them out for hashing contracts.  This is the the guy that runs KNC's brother.   So if KNC does deliver, Byteminr will have hashing up and running.   They are not taking money at this time but you can subscribe.

I don't know of any cloud hashing company running yet as many of them are waiting on large ASIC orders.

Brilliant. I signed up.

Thanks - glad to have you on board Smiley

Our aim is to bring the benefits of group buying - e.g. access to the latest equipment - but with the professional support that a registered company can provide.

We are offering fixed term and flexible contracts based on portions of KnC Jupiters. We don't keep any of the mined coins, we just take a service margin. Our service is daemon based - your 'virtual miner' is your own. So if you want a 10GH or 50GH share of a Jupiter - that's what you'll get for the period you choose - and all our boxes are professionally hosted in a data centre.

Well be adding other coins in the future and supporting multiple mining pools, so come take a look.

Bitpay payments coming very soon.

I'm getting asked this a lot right now by customers and those interested in mining for the first time.

I wanted to put this as simply as I can for people on my site so thought I'd check for opinion here on the easiest way to express it.

Here goes:

The simplest way to decide if a miner (physical hardware or virtual) is worth buying is to decide, for yourself, if it will mine more coins than it will cost to buy and run. If it does, buy it. If not, don't buy it.

That's mining returns in a nutshell. With hosted offers like ours it's easy to see the whole life cost so it makes the comparison even easier.

Make sense ?

I'm really keen to get some community feedback on this, it's pretty critical to mass adoption in mining and making dubious promises about returns ( as is often done sadly)  is pretty much illegal in most countries.

If anyone has missed the boat on the early orders for KnCMiner hardware, check out the hosted offerings on www.byteminr.com

We have a small number of day 1 Jupiters available, split up into various sized contracts, our largest 12 month offer is just over $36 USD/GH fully hosted inc all taxes.

Check us out.
