1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deepbit.net mining account from 2011, any way to contact the owner of the site? on: December 01, 2017, 09:50:41 PM
What the hell.. why are you worried about this? This site has closed their doors more than five years ago.

It only lasted ten months if i am not wrong, because it went offline by march of 2012.

How many bitcoins did you have in there? i can imagine that you had a lot, since the price was less than one hundred dollars per bitcoin, that is insane.

But no, there is no way to recover those funds, and we dont even know who was the owner.

So the only thing that you can do is just start from the beggining again..

I believe there is a significant amount of bitcoins related to the account, that's why I am doing anything I can to see if I can recover it.

I know I ran the mining for a few weeks so I would imagine there's dozens of bitcoins at least.

It seems the owner's name is Tycho on this forum, but he is since inactive.

Hey guys, I realized I opened a deepbit mining account in 2011 and have the email confirmation.  I was mining bitcoin around this time.

I was wondering if anyone knows how in the world I could go about finding the creator / site owner and if I could somehow recover my old account? I was mining in 2011 so the coins were extremely cheap.
