Any help understanding of this would be great, Nano S still says unconfirmed.
Thx!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 14, 2018, 07:06:36 AM
Getting ready for a little ride here maybe?
Oh yeah!
Here comes the whales and retail investors.
Now we just need the hedge funds and institutional investors to start investing and seeing the value of Litecoin and what the dev team is doing.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: February 13, 2018, 03:40:19 PM
How is this coin extracted?
PoS or PoW?
Neither..it is SCP

What is that?
A new production method?

nope, it's a consensus protocol developed by some mathematician and adopted by Stellar. PoW and PoS are also consensus protocols. PoW  was proposed by Satoshi. PoS ..... there are many of them. First PoS was implemented by NXT.

Look here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2867986.msg29448107#msg29448107 where  there are relevant Q&A . BTW, do you know that every holder of XLM can receive  the inflation covering coins on a weekly ground?
Well that's great.
It'll be nice when I can put stellar on my ledger nano s, it doesn't sync up w/ nano s like Litecoin does...not sure why that would be.
Yes I bought it from France not second hand.
Anyone else have this problem?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - U.CASH [UCASH] Initial Bounty Offering (IBO) Now Complete! on: February 11, 2018, 09:02:07 PM
I hope you guys didn't send in your ID's and passports.  They are all being collected by this project for scam purposes.  Please do not send in your ID's.  Payment is not working correctly due to them not being a real project.  They are mining for your data.  For those that sent in your ID's hopefully they will not be used in crimes so you will hopefully not get into legal trouble, however I would watch my credit score and make sure Credit cards are not being taken out in your name.

Never send in your ID over the internet to anyone.  Basic stuff guys.

Sheeets I was stupid and did, usually I check things out like this first, not sure why I did that so soon before verifying.
DumbAss me!
So where can I go to make sure no credit cards are taken out?
Thanks for your help on this!

So many warnings in the claiming instructions...
How it is more risky to use the private key from Ledger Nano S in Agama, than using some other private key in Agama ??

"[Note: You can also use only with 1 Ledger Nano S for this purpose. But, you have to leave your funds exposed(!) for longer. Not recommended.]" ... Exposed to whom, where, how ??
I get the impression that there is some added danger there contrary to using only Agama without any hardwarewallet in the first place.

I'm reasoning that it must be a wrong impression because: Generating private key from the Nano S seed is done offline, logging in to Agama is done offline too (local signing) and resetting the Nano S is also done offline, so the seed/private key is not going anywhere from my PC. That means the only risk is stepping down from hardware-level security to software-level security only momentarily. If you don't have keyloggers, compromised wallet etc. it is not that big of a risk at all.
Is my reasoning reasonable ?
seems pretty reasonable.
Most people maybe are not as astute and have a blackbox "hardware wallet" which they trust is the most secure. By downshifting to where the seed is input into live systems it is less secure than leaving it in the hardware.

that being said by quickly transferring to a new hardware protected address, then it is indeed a short temporary degradation of security level.

another aspect is that by spending from that address, the pubkey will be published on the blockchain, so it loses its cold address security against Quantum Computers from the future

Why all of a sudden does the AgamaApp-0.2.0.25c-beta-windows-installer.exe that I had installed show 0 balance when it did show my 6 Komodo coins 3 weeks ago.
Also when I now try to re-install on my Window 7 computer this exe it says it can't find the file...which is what I'm double clicking on to install it.... It worked initially np.

So now after uninstalling the previous Agama AgamaApp-0.2.0.25c-beta-windows-installer.exe.
It showed the 6 coins a few weeks ago but now nothing.
The latest Agama wallet 2.0.26c says me previous wallet address key has incorrect WIF format.

The latest Agama wallet 2.0.26d won't even install because it says it can't find the file that I just clicked on....wth

Any help would be appreciated.
Thx!

1. Were you running the initial installation of Agama in Native or Lite mode?
2. I would look in the komodo blockchain explorer and check your address, if it shows your balance correctly then the coins are still there. If there is no balance then the coins might be on another address (which could be the case if you ran Agama in Native and made transactions)
3. If you ran Native, did you backup/save your wallet.dat file somewhere else?
Thanks for the reply.
No I initially ran Agama in the Lite mode and it showed 0.
Then I downloaded the latest and tried in the Native mode, still shows 0.
No I didn't backup my wallet.dat, I read that it doesn't keep your wallet.dat where the install is so I shouldn't of have to back it up...

But now when I go back to install any of the Agama wallets it says it can't find the .exe file that I'm clicking on.
Not sure then how to install the Agama if my download says it can't even find the file I'm clicking on...

I would first verify you have your KMD in your address. Go here and enter your address and see what your balance is. If you're KMD are there, and you have your original passphrase you are in business.

As for the installation, I would delete your old installation files, redownload the latest and run it from a console to see what other clues you can get.

I meant go here .. https://kmd.explorer.supernet.org/
Ok thanks I do see it in there...thank you!! :-)
So not sure if by trying to run in Native mode that I messed something up...I usually ran in Lite mode and it initially showed the 6 KMD using the 2.0.25c.exe.

Then when uninstalled and setup the 2.0.26c.exe I ran in Native mode, showing 0.  I then uninstalled that and tried to reinstall the 2.0.25c.exe that's when I noticed it doesn't see the .exe file I'm clicking on....oh well.

Maybe there's another way to get your KMD's back into a wallet...from this - https://kmd.explorer.supernet.org/  ?
Not sure if there is.

Keep in mind that in native mode you have to wait for the block chain to down which could take a while before you see your balance. I would keep trying to install Agama and only use it in lite mode if you get it running. In lite mode you should see your balance right away.
Ok will do.
I usually did run it in Lite mode and it did show my 6 KMD coins right away, but this last time it didn't.
Not sure why I can't even install the .exe since it says it can't find the file I just clicked on...

I have some questions. I guess this is the right place to ask and receive answers.

1. How much do I need for staking Komodo? Is there any minimum amount?
2. Does my PC and Agama wallet have to be open in order to get stake?
3. Is that simple as Neo? What should I do for claiming stake reward?
4. Is the problem with Ledger wallet solved? Can I get stake using Ledger wallet?
5. I installed Agama wallet. Which one should I choose? Lite mode or Native mode?
6. Any other special thing I should know?

I want to invest Komodo for long term and I need to know above. Thank you
1. 10 KMD
2. no
3. nothing other than spend funds to collect the accrued interest. there is a claim interest button in the GUI
4. there is a workaround, not the best but seems workable
5. lite mode is faster to get working
6. no

6. yes, it is not called staking.

hi, i must send my KMD to agama wallet to claim interest ??
so my KMD will be locked ?

right.
the KMD coins must be in your agama wallet.
and the coins are not locked. You can always send them back to an exchange

Ok that sounds good but I have a problem not seeing my balance that I had in there.
Ok why is it that now I have 0 balance when a few weeks ago I had my 6 Komodos?
Any idea why this would be?
I'm in the process of downloading the latest Agama desktop, maybe that's all it is.

Please ensure your KMD payout requests are placed if you have not done yet on the ICO website - the final payout is about to take place. Afterwards the system will be shut down and no more requests will be accepted. Thank you for your patience!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: December 20, 2017, 04:34:33 PM
The only "improvement" bcash has on bitcoin is that it has an 8mb block size. Well bitbean has 20mb blocks so is bitbean then the REAL bitcoin @rogerkver ? $

8mb it's not the only "improvement", it's BCH's major advantage because it makes it cheap, reliable and usable.
Other coins with big blocks have not the same user base as BTC - basically, BCH is copy of BTC without BTC's limitations.

Can you explain what are these advantages and improvement and what is problem with major institutional investments why they are not understanding the point of BCH. Upcoming year is full of forks than what will happen into this ecosystem?
When Mt Gox 2.0 erupts you can expect a major long term crash, and erosion of any Investor trust. Coin base looking scammy as hell with this latest "glitch"..and they are the most trusted exchange..lmao might be time to cash out, idk.

I think you may have a good point, maybe take some off table JIC.  I do like binance so far I can login and am able to trade, but if I can't get back to coinbase then how do I actually cash out?
What other exchange(s) are there that I can link my bank acct or credit card to too actually get the cash value, anyone know?

Does the old KomodoGui swing wallet still work?
It seems like it just goes out and takes days to verify the blockchain.
I was initially able to get the wallet to show up in Nov '17, showing that it was synced up till March 10, 2016.
Of course my 6 coins I sent don't show because the block hasn't shown up.

Do I need to just get the Agama wallet and then how do I get at my block where I sent those 6 coins to my KomodoGui wallet?
Any help on getting my KomodoGui wallet to show my coins would be great.

Thx!

Yeah you should probably get Agama and run it in lite mode... that would be the quickest way to get access to your coins.

Thanks for your help, the Agama lite wallet installed and worked really nice and shows my 6 coins, wow!! :-)
