141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of CPU-ONLY AltCoins on: January 19, 2014, 05:04:52 PM
I mined Quark on a couple of CPUs for a few weeks, and was just about covering electricity costs. But since it's gone down in price, I'm actually losing money by mining. I tried Protoshares too, but rather than the ~$2/day I was making on Quark, I got a few cents each day. I see people talking about Datacoin and Memorycoin as CPU coins, but is anyone actually even breaking even with CPU mining?

Same problem here. I do not have GPU, but I have a few computers that I can use to mine CPU coins. So far I heve been mining quarks for about two weeks, but this does not seem to be profitable anymore.

I have tried to mine memorycoin, but the results were even worse than mining Quark.

To mine MemoryCoin you need to use the new miner which is far more efficient : MemoryCoin.org

The MemoryCoin is now MMC (aka MemoryCoin 2 )

Can you please change this BitJohn.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of CPU-ONLY AltCoins on: January 14, 2014, 03:40:32 PM
Please add Memorycoin MMC again.
There is a new CPU miner that improve 400% and beat/egual the GPU miner.

The watchlist doesn't work well since a few days :
When I click on a "new" of a thread, I got directed to the top of the page where I'm supposed to go, instead of the new post itself.

Do you have the same problem ?

Top 100 richest mmc addresses in real time: http://agran.net/mmc_getbalance.php?top=100

Yet another informational and good site from you. Great job!

Glad to see the charity address in the top 50!

It's an unspendable address witch was filled at the beginning when there was no vote.

How much they where paid for that.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin 2.0 (MMC) - Now With Block Rewards! on: December 17, 2013, 02:36:12 PM
Should we make a bounty for a working mining pool ?

How much are you guys willing to give ?

I would give 5 MMC.

EDIT :
stas would give 50 MMC
foolsh would give all his MMC if he had any
coininaction would give 20 MMC

TOTAL : 75 MMC

I would give 50.
The elected people should be in charge of this and add to the bounty from their grant !
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The MemoryCoin 2.0 BlockChain is Hiring on: December 16, 2013, 02:32:18 AM
Yes they are missing an 'E' but they were generated on my laptop and decided against waiting a couple of days per address.

So they won't work !
This kind of disqualify you, or you would have to prove more on your ability !
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin on: December 10, 2013, 02:53:52 PM
Regarding the future voting system :
Once an address has won a grant, the money should be blocked in the account until another vote unlock it or delete it.
This will be a far more incentive than giving away the funds before anything is done.

How it would work :
- Someone offer to do a task (programming, marketing, design etc... )
- Stakeholder vote for his address to get a grant.
- His address is elected for the grant, and money is created on it, but unspendable.
- The person complete the task and ask for the money.
- Stakeholder vote to make the money spendable.
- Or if the person don't do the task or resign, Stakeholder vote to delete the money.

I like this idea, but think it would require too much input and engagement from owners to make it work. Some users barely understand the voting at all, so I think asking them to do complex oversight like this would blow their minds.

Well I guess this is just a question of user interface.

But for the sake of it I have thought of other mechanism that could prevent to have the user to monitor what is happening in the community.

Here it is :
There should be a board of administrator which would be elected by requiring at least 70% vote.
Those administrator will be there to handle the task of managing candidate and money unlocking, but won't have any other power (ie: they can't create money or chose the winner).
It will go like this :
- Shareholder vote to elect the board of administrators, each admin need to be approved by at least 70% (number to be discussed) of voter to be elected.
- The board of admin check the candidate for the election, the candidate must be real people with real proposition, as opposed to fat wallet voting for themselves .
- For a candidate to be valid he would need 50% of the admin vote. The admin vote only for validity, they don't have a say in if they like the project or not.
- Shareholder vote for the different candidates, the best one win, the money is created, but unspendable.
- The candidate complete the task and ask for the money.
- Admin vote to make the money spendable.
- Or if the person don't do the task or resign, Admin vote to delete the money.

This will remove from the user the burden of checking the community, they just have to elect admin once, and vote for the project they like.

Only beginner think not commenting is hardcore programming.

Sustainable software need comment, and open source one need even more !

Agree. That was just a sarcasm.

Ok, sorry, wasn't sure Smiley

There is not a single comment in the code,
this is very bad for the future ...

I am glad cunicula is looking carefully on this!!!

Me too. We need more guys to peer review security, crypto and other aspects of Nxt though.

How can we review security if we don't have access to code ...

BCNext offered to reveal any part of the code. Part of the source is not enough to clone Nxt.

Where are those part of code ?

159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MCXNow Realsolid Has Screwed Everyone. MCXNOW SHUTTING DOWN!! on: November 26, 2013, 11:00:37 AM
There is this question :

Why was he re-buying mcxFee ?
Before shut-down he had around : 58 466 fee
from around 42 000 (I don’t remember well this one) after the 2nd IPO.

So he bought back around 16 500 fee.
Why would he do that if he knew he was going away ?
