So there's a pool at launch, which pretty much guarantees little to no solo mining for the little guys. Great.
Your definition of little guy and mine must not be the same. At launch I get nothing with my combined 107kH/s without a pool. So by little guy, you must be referring to your meager 8xR9 290x space heater. No, I'm talking about the piece of shit nvidia card in my gaming computer built in 2010. I've mined several altcoins at the very beginning. I'm talking first 10-20 minutes, and if I'm fast enough, I tend to make decent profit. That has been far more profitable than the pitiful amount I've gotten from the excessive launch pools of recent coin releases. I'd rather take my chances and hope I get lucky, instead of pretty much guaranteeing myself a truly meager output at best. |

I can't believe this will be premined, and the launch pushed back at the last minute, said no one ever.
This is why I hate pre-announced launches. I don't care if they're "unfair" for people not paying attention. Let the hawks benefit from the quiet (and smooth) launches. If you miss one, there will always be another.

You're telling people to stop doing what you've no doubt supported in the past. Just think about that for a moment.
If you don't want a new coin to get anywhere then don't support it. Don't download the wallet, don't mine it, etc. No one likes pure clones but there's nothing wrong with making new interesting coins that offer something of value, of which SOME of these new coins do.
But yeah, keep dreaming.

Ill file this one under recycled bin like the the last few coin launches.
Someone tried to delete the folder this coin is in yet? I always get a "This folder is in use by a program" message, even though the folder is empty and mediacoin is not running... This and the fact of no sourcecode makes me very a bit suspicious... I was able to delete it without a problem. |

Enough with the ridiculous overhyped preannouncements. All it does is oversaturate with pools and kill coin launches, overloading this forum and making whales richer.

DTC needs more promotion, bounties and services. The front page is filled with DOGE and other stuff so I wouldn't be surprised if over half of the people on the forum didn't even know what DTC is.
This coin absolutely feels like it's on the backburner, not due to its creator or anyone trying to help promote it, but just because it hasn't been picked up by many exchanges. We're seeing coins like MOON getting extreme hype and being listed on exchanges in 12 hours, while we sit here 6 weeks later with very little movement. It feels dead. I'll probably dump most of what I still have and leave a tiny bit for insurance. It's your choice. But if Cryptsy\vircurex\btc38 pick it in week or two... let's see  BTW as you remember, Datacoin is not only coin. It is under active development of additional features on its platform, and now we really don't care much about the price. I've seen you speak about the price before, especially at launch, so please don't tell me you don't care about the price. You do, and so does everyone else. I tried depositing some DTC on bter and they're not even accepting it right now anyway. Splendid. Looks like i'm still in it for the long haul, whether it's by choice or not. |

Linux binary does not compile. I would not trust this coin until his sourcecode compiles.
you actually just have to switch out the leveldb folder of particle with the one of quark or similar coin... then it should compile... worked for me ... cheers This worked for me as well, but i was getting permission errors and had to chmod a file in there to get it to work. |

Splitting it for example may not be a bad idea. I get alerted for every topic and the vast majority of them are: * Join my new 1% pool, the 30th pool of its kind for a coin you're not interested in mining. * Scamcoin is a scam * Hey owner of an exchange! I'm treating this as your support forum! You've wronged me! * X-COIN IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE! BUY NOW BUY NOW, i'm full of regret  * I've tried to withdraw from this exchange and I've waited 5 whole minutes with no results! Anyone else? I really only care about new coin announcements. |
