crypto_zoidberg and all

I have downloaded the new wallet.
however it is not able to synch... is there something that I am missing.
I am trying to swap.

1. I have coins to swap.
2. I have zano address placed -- and notifies me it is a swap address

no ability to move forward as the wallet maintains that it is still synching.

I am looking for advise or information. Thank you.

Just make a GUI wallet pleaseeeeeeee.....  Smiley

This seriously. Mac version too.

What's the status from dev?

I run the daemon and wallet from Mac for my personal account. It's a straight forward build, just follow the instructions on GitHub and make sure you have the correct dependencies. You can do it!  Smiley

Perhaps you could point me to how to do this? Didn't find any instructions on GitHub and find the site generally confusing. Note: I'm not a dev, zero clue how to build a GUI wallet.

Quite astonishing there isn't a GUI wallet after 3.5yrs when Aeon devs would have no trouble building them from code which is already written on GitHub. What's stopping them from doing this apparently simple task?

I'm not sure I follow.  Roll Eyes

Here's the command line daemon & wallet for OS X. The instructions worked for me; https://github.com/aeonix/aeon
*************************************************************************************************
On OS X:

The project can be built from scratch by following instructions for Unix and Linux above.

Alternatively, it can be built in an easier and more automated fashion using Homebrew:

Ensure Homebrew is installed, it can be found at http://brew.sh

Add the repository: brew tap sammy007/cryptonight

Build wallet: brew install --HEAD aeon
*************************************************************************************************

Again, not a dev. This makes no sense, no clue how to compile anything from GitHub. Homebrew...yeah again this makes no sense, I see terminal commands going on but have zero clue what it's doing. Is malware being installed? I have no idea. Doesn't seem like a good way to make people jump through confusing hoops just to safely hold AEON in a desktop wallet.

I need a .dmg file to be able to install the wallet on Mac. Sure I'm not the only one wondering wtf we're doing trying to install wallets using confusing command lines in Terminal when this coin is 3.5yrs old and Monero has all the installer apps for every operating system. Stumped.

AEON devs, why just make GUI wallets already?? This is the only coin I'm holding on an exchange because there is no wallet installer.

Edit- I believe I installed Homebrew and Aeon wallet according to Terminal. But here is no Aeon QT in applications folder. Have no idea how to run the wallet or where it even is on my hard drive. Come on devs you need to make this easier ffs!

you can also, do an cholecystectomy.
its pretty easy.
you need a surgical table
general anethesia
get some trochanters and go to work.
really should take about 30 minutes from start to finish.
I really cant see why more people dont do it more.

who else here still has bbr locked in polo

how can we as a community put pressure on them to release our coins to us?

sucks.

I sent bytecoin to them 4 years ago.
I did not include a payment ID but I had time stamp and transaction ID and gave them my public address
but they have not credited me any of it.

I kind of consider it lost.

cryptopia delisted BCN and BBR because of this numerous inattantive users like you. If I headed an exchange, I would make my careless customers pay for the additional work.
Amen to that.

CZ and B4H4mu7
please assist.

I found an old comment from CZ. It appears to be an issue that was supposed to be fixed before.
I was finally able to open my wallet by removing the .bin file and using the .bin.keys file. (thank you 1blockologist)
however, doing this  gave the error below. it is the same error that CZ addressed a while back. I am wondering if one of you can address this problem. thanks.

2017-Dec-21 20:09:43.719866 [RPC1]ERROR C:\home\projects\boolberry\src\currency_core\blockchain_storage.cpp:1445[currency::blockchain_storage::find_blockchain_supplement]Client sent wrong NOTIFY_REQUEST_CHAIN: genesis block missmatch:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reporting problem, will fix it asap.

I've discovered the problem.
Since today we've made some major fixes genesis id had changed(and thats why we've restarted the net again). The wallet keeps (in wallet_name.bin file) his own block chain(not full blocks, just block ids) to be able to handle some splits in daemon.
So you probably have been generated your wallet with sources before todays fixes. It's not a big problem - just remove your wallet_name.bin file (DO NOT KILL wallet_name.bin.keys file) and reopen wallet. This case is not a typical problem - genesis block is not subject to change in normal life. But, it is now possible to open the wallet from different network (such as bytecon or bitmonero) that will cause the same errors, so we will add extra info to wallet to avoid this.
Let me know if problem is not gone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This old comment was made before official network launch, at that time I was restarting net every few days to test things, and because of this people got faced with situations where wallet was unable to sync(genesis mismatch). I'm wondering how you got this problem, because as I can see
id 830ec1d9917286cd95ac0128022900dc452c33d9d29974ae304bff430fc10353 was genesis of one of the first test net. Probably you got some wrong wallet file?

thanks. It has been so long I cant remember.
but you are right. this is testing

boolberrians.

thank you for patience and helping.

I am trying this step. I am hoping someone can help.

So I have my ...bin.keys file. I no longer have my 24 word seed.
I want to restore my wallet.

I am looking at this commands, and I cant quite make sense of them
--restore-wallet
--restore-seed

the restore wallet asks for the 24 word seed, which I no longer have
the restore seed asks me for the 24 worrd seed also.

are they the exact same commans or is there a way I can use it recreat my wallet using my ...bin.keys file.

thanks.

Did you try to create a new boolberry account? And then check if you get 25 words code.

the wallet is from so long ago. I dont knw, but I might have participated in the testnet maybe. I think the official launch was in may and the wallets appear to be from april.

so it might be a different coin after all.

thanks.

however, it looks like that old solution does not work now.
I am hoping someone else has some ideas.

I think in theory you can decrypt the .keys file and get access to your private keys.

https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1629/what-encryption-algorithm-is-used-for-the-wallet-keys-file
Doesn't the wallet have a command to get the keys? Monero-wallet-cli has the export_key_images command.  I know doggod's wallet is older, but I would hope it has a command that provides access to the keys.

hmm. I will try to see what results from this.
thanks.

no boolberry does not have this command. it does have the commands
restore-wallet  but this seems to need the 24 word seed
restore-seed also seems to require the 24 word seed.

I am not sure if anyone else has some experience or understands these commands and can help advance

Long time ago that I have been checking this thread. Is there still active development going on for BBR?

yes.

first there was going to be a fork. then there was not going to be a fork, then the fork was considered again to popular demand, and now the fork is cancelled.
the good news, the original developer is back and has support of another user whom has interest in the project continuing. The original developer has new plans and has been active in the last week or so.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 23, 2017, 02:53:02 AM
ok. I hope someone here can help.
I hope some of the first group of people that adopted monero at its inception were there for boolberry as well.

I have a honeypenny wallet that opens using the old simple wallet of 2014 (password works). it will not recognize the modern daemon so although it opens, I can not access the coins in the wallet.

the new simple wallet now gives me an error of invalid password. so I cant open the old wallet with the new simple wallet.

I am hoping those that mined both coins can help me recover my old wallet. I am hoping as monero and honey penny were born from the same essential code, maybe I can get help here.

I have not gotten much help at boolberry. They are busy reviving the project and I am probably a distraction for them.

Can you be more specific about what error you're incurring? Perhaps a screenshot?

Honeypenny wallet that holds some coins. The wallet is from may 2014 (software version).
I can open the wallet with the simplewallet from the same date. Both are prior to name change to boolberry.
This wallet however will not recognize the current daemon (2017 version. )

when I try to open the wallet with the 2017 version of simplewallet it gives me invalid password error.

I am using the keys file to open it as I am getting genesis block missmatch. The reason for this was that Cryptozoiberg had to restart the network and the genesis block changed. In a post shortly after he (or she) had mentioned that this genesis missmatch can be corrected by using the keys file.

however, it looks like that old solution does not work now.
I am hoping someone else has some ideas.

hi guys,

I am wondering if it is at all worth it to try and crack my honneypenny wallet.
I have aprox 40k honeypennies according to wallet log at last entry.
I am wondering if when the change occured to boolberry, did the number coins change. in otherwords, should I get access to these pennies, do I expec aprox 40k boolberries.
thanks.

just one thing.
I forgot my honneypenny password AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

any suggestions out there on how I can recover my sweet sweet honey penny thanks.

I think I know what I might have used as password/s.
but I really cant hack my own wallet.

I think I have 49k honney pennies.

You can use hashcat services to brute force password, or if you have gpu farm, compile yourself the hashcat software to bruteforce the password, using 6 amd 7970 gpu can crack 8 letter password in 5 hours.

I will look into hashcat.
and my password is around 16 characters.
hope they dont charge much.

you sure? I get "failed to read wallet" on some compiles, try moving your wallet file and instead opening your wallet's .key file

this is the original honneypenny wallets.
i have bin file and key file.
the error is, wrong password. so I think there is no problem with the file itself.
