1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]⚡⚡🔐[PRiVCY]🔐⚡⚡[19th Airdrop - Starts 13th October]✅[PoW/POS]✅ on: October 11, 2018, 09:48:12 PM
I really hope for the price of PRIV to come back to what it was, looking at the 500- 2000 sat challenge giveaway, It seems like a difficult feat for the community of traders to attain.

that price is nothing, It will be much higher in the future if you hold.  The market cap is stupidly low it has nowhere to go but up at this point.

This is true. A market cap of little more that 100K is a true joke, especially if you consider how efficient the team has proved to be until now. To make a 100X within a year is almost a joke. If the coin will achieve some notable success we can even make a rise in the range of 1000X.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Hotfix for CVE-2018-17144 Online! on: October 10, 2018, 08:52:29 AM
You could choose any reason you like or all of them:
1. Bearish market in crypto
2. Lack of enough liquidity market
3. Lack of buyers
4. Not obvious progress of BTX development
5. Despair period in BTX price cycle
All these are effects, not causes.
The real cause:
This shitcoin was distributed for free to Bitcoin holders, and further airdropped to registered Bitcore holders. Increasing selling pressure in the absence of a use-driven demand.
Byteball and Bitcore are siblings - bottomless shitcoins with interesting technology ideas and absolutely no reason for holding.

PoW mining does not make Bitcore any more valuable - the share of mining reward to existing supply is very low, rational miners don't hold coins below their average cost of mining - they dump them.

Yeah, I am salty about the price...

i think the perception of the "absence of a use-driven demand" is the issue. Many people are not aware of the places where bitcore can be spent :

1. Living Room of Satoshi ( https://livingroomofsatoshi.com/ ) . for paying bills in australia.
2. KAMoney ( https://www.kamoney.com.br/ ) . for paying bills in brazil.
3. LuckyGames ( https://luckygames.io/ ) . for gambling online in a form other than investing in crypto Wink
4. Games4Coins ( https://www.games4coins.com/ ) . for playing Steam video games

most importantly, in my opinion, is this bitcointalk post from earlier today which reveals a javascript API that merchants can use to have people pay for items in BTX : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1883902.msg46427355#msg46427355 . the API to use is here : https://insight.bitcore.cc/api

getting merchants to adopt this API, which would result in increasing the list above of the sites which accept BTX as payment, is the key to changing the perception of the absence of a use-driven demand. This gives people a reason for "spending" BTX, which may or may not give you enough reason for "holding" BTX, depending on how large the above list grows over time.

quoting from https://bitcore.cc/the-simplest-bitcore-wallet/ :
Commerce would grind to a half if people had to wait an hour after initiating a payment for confirmation before they could receive goods or services. After all, people often complain about having to wait a few seconds for chip – based credit cards to process in the line at the grocery store. Because of technical features of Bitcore, it is worth adding Bitcore as a payment option if you run an e-commerce store, bill payment center,
online game center and more. Because BTX provides users with a low cost and rapid solution for digital payments. As well as this rapid solution, TSBW provides simple and rapid access to your wallet. Several reputable companies already include Bitcore payment options, and the number is growing.

Well, forget the use for gambling - every coin at some point is boasting about it being available for gambling - and also the other uses you are listing are quite risible. There is still way to go before rightfully claiming that there is an actual use in owning BTX.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - Free Airdrop on: October 10, 2018, 08:25:17 AM
I hold 666 coins  Grin
Haha, will that number bring you luck? Tongue Anyway, I'm glad that the signature campaign will end! As some have said here, there will be no more dump and Q4 already starts next week! Who sold the 3300 sat should be a little regret? Roll Eyes

I am amazed to see how short-sighted everybody here is, reading the comments. Everybody happy for the signature campaign to stop just because they think THIS is the reason of the price to drop. So everybody is happy that less people will learn about Semux, as if THIS would benefit the value of the coin. Since nobody is seemingly understanding what crypto is - or should - be about, I'm amazed this castle of cards is still standing.

the only best thing will be the vm and new exchange.. and yes the signature now it's only a way for dump every week.. for example also if the signature end, i don't leave it from my profile

Why are real Semux entusiasts afraid of Bounty Hunters dumping? Is this project so weak that it must be afraid of a few coins getting on the market? Are people here so desperate about the price instead of developement?
I first thought this project is cool, but after observing these behaviors in the community - starting from the team, which is ending the campaign now for obvious fears about those mini-dumpers - I am not so sure any more.
Because of the market uncertainty, that led some people to rush to sell when they got the bounty, therefore, the price of sem has been falling rapidly in the past, which is quite irrational.

My impression instead is that nowadays most of the people here on Bitcointalk are from poor countries - something you can deduce also from their poor English - and they just need the little money as soon as they get it so that they cannot wait until it grows in value.

307 pages and counting...this is an indication of an active community. This project is living up to expectations despite all the attacks from various quarters. PRiVCY is going places in the future. The price has been fairly stable exhibiting the pattern of a Simple Harmonic motion despite the level of uncertainty in the market in general. If you are not on this train, you have yourself to blame.
Thats true, active and quality community, but not for price, because some people keep trying to raise prices, and some try to drop prices for personal gain. this is a matter of debate by our fellow members

It looks like we may have a lot of members in the airdrop who are here for the pennies that they get by selling immediatley and which the supposedly use to feed their families in some poor country. I cannot see other reasons for giving away the airdropped PRIVs for such a little money.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Hotfix for CVE-2018-17144 Online! on: October 01, 2018, 10:18:43 AM
Yes, people have said that a hundred times about Bitcoin and he is still alive. So it certainly will be too with Bitcore. The Bitcore team does its best to keep the project going. As long as the team is active, the coin will certainly not die. I wouldn't always just pay attention to the price, it doesn't always tell you everything. I've experienced that several times in the crypto world.   Smiley
How can you even compare Bitcoin with Bitcore? How can you compare Bitcoin with ANY coin? That story can be found on any coin Discord, Slack, forum... Everyone comparing with BTC, which is nonsense.

Here's list of dead coins. Most of them are ICOs and scams, but in last few years there was some POW coins which died.
https://deadcoins.com/
So, yes, coins die! Lot of them!

I still hold same quantity of BTX that I bought and mined last year, but now without any hope that ever gonna be worth anything. I am ready for 0 satoshis. Honestly, IMO Everything started with airdrop announcement. Reason for airdrop was "distribution, blah blah blah" and now I think that real reason was for early miners and developers to get rid of their BTX coins at high price. I was tricked, scammed, fooled by group of people, but it won't happen again with some other coin. Lesson learned.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I would lie if I would told that I believe in anything else than this.

im afraid BTX will have the same faith with BSD another Devs project. i guess the problem is they are very bad marketers
Completely agree with you, the whole crypto market at the moment is a complete manipulation. And all do not care about the technology project, the main thing is marketing and HYIP. But it is possible that the team will think it over and engage in marketing.

This is something which I have started to suspect myself. Who has still an advantage to sell so many coins every day at the current prices?  Possibly only someone who has really plenty of them and did not have to pay for them, so that he has still plenty to sell and by selling he is still profiting, while everyone else would just be losing money and-or would have just finished the coins.
Of course there may  be other explanations. but U think this one is startng to be taken in consideration.

......Possibly only someone who has really plenty of them and did not have to pay for them, so that he has still plenty to sell and by selling he is still profiting.......

filthy thieves ....

Yeah, there are not many ways to profit from selling at such low prices unless you didn 't have to pay for your tons of BTX originally.... So unless well explained and understood, this phenomenon may be casting some shadows on this project. I first thought we were in an accumulation phase, but I'm starting to think we may still be in a distribution phase, which would surely have some quite ominous implications.

Great job we reached page 300!!! Thanks for your effort guys, we're stronger than ever!
Keep it going guys
And now Privcy to the moon Grin

Well, to rise from the dip of 170 sats to 300 sats in just a few days is quite promising. We just need some more buyers from outside the community joining in and the price could start to skyrocket.

is xp more obligated in discord, someone comply will all rules but unfortunately his/her xp not up to 100 not eligible for the airdrop? i can see bouncy of rules line up , bear it in mind we are human and we are made to mistake
vote
xp
discord
registration
vote on exchange
active on forums
retweet
too shot of comment on forums
not wearing signature, thank this is solve not obligated for newbies
e.t.c

There is not a fix xp that you have to reach in Discord. You just have to be active a few times a week there. If you are afraid to waste too much time with the Privcy community perhaps you should not try to get this airdrop.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - Free Airdrop on: September 16, 2018, 09:35:45 PM
Yes we don`t need more exchanges what we need is promotional and marketing and good review from popular crypto website if were going to aim to get listed we might want it to be listed in the top 5 exchange.
Massive promotional campaign via signatures in the forum has been implemented over months, and will last till December this year.
Personally, more promotions on more channels might be helpful.

I can see it is a very successful campaign, the forum is infested by people wearing the Semux signature. That is what has lead me to this coin.

Not able to understand  BTX  value, its not trending positive when BTC is High, but it crashes when BTC crashes, never imaged it will come below $1, argued with may people here it will never reach below $1, may suggestion is wrong not sure what future left to do

I am not able to understand who the hell has still got so many BTX to sell and more than that why they would keep selling them at such prices. I am just missing the logic of such a price action.

DDD

Desperate, Dumb or Diversifying.

DDD - Nice acronym, will remember that - Lol. Especially as I cannot find any other reasons myself.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WEBD] 🌍 WebDollar - Currency of the Internet | Mining directly in browser on: September 11, 2018, 09:25:51 AM
Listing this coin on a reputed exchange would be better than on your own exchange.
You have ZERO experience to build an exchange.
How do you plan to become an exchange if you are not a registered company?

The liquidity will be so small on your own exchange and the coin will be dumped even harder.

There is not a single company which back up your project and you talk about adoption.

Be real! Nobody knows about WEBD besides a few guys from bitcointalk. Twitter account is dead, Reddit is dead, Facebook the same. You are only on telegram but there nothing can be disputed because you can't create threads.

And stop comparing WEBD with BTC.

Then why are you here? If you don't like how the project is evolving just leave and get involved with the 1500+ other crypto projects which exist. By the way, most of the 1500+ other projects are just known by a few guys from bitcointalk. And so has been Bitcoin for several years as well, by the way.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices predicted to hit $96000 in the next 5 years on: September 11, 2018, 08:49:19 AM
We are just playing to guess and the truth is that any prediction is not a prediction but a mere guess. According to "predictions" the value of Bitcoin in the future ranges from 0$ to 1 Million $, which equals to say that we have no clues.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the reason for Bitcoin's price increase in the end of the year? on: September 06, 2018, 10:54:43 PM
Bitcoin is the most popular precious currency in the online exchange market. If you look at the statistics of the past year, end of the year it is seen that almost every year the price of Bitcoin increases and the market volume is also very high.

But it is not seen in the middle of the year. But why does this happen, have any reason?
Will the same statistics be seen in the end of 2018?

This is a question I have always had in my mind as well, but I have never understood that. And I see that most people in this thread have no clues either. Let's hope it will be true this year too.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: September 06, 2018, 10:28:03 PM
until the levels of support fall one after another as if the walls of a fortress which. besiege the barbarians. only changes in the mood of the holders of the tokens can change something. because we all understand that there are almost no buyers in this market now.

Why do you say there are almost no buyer? BTX has a great future.

Well in mid december total market cap was almost 1 trillion $ and now 200b, so I agree that there are no buyers. I have feeling that exchanges bots are doing most of the trade now.

...and all those who have bought something high now they have finished their money and cannot buy low too - the can just hodl. Other People are waiting for a sign of reversal to start buying again.

I completely agree. Many non-financially oriented people (as me) were drawn to crypto just for it's technical side (mining).
Spent their money on mining equipment and now have a bitter taste in their mouth.

I had gone through the experience of losing money buying mining equipment in 2014. Now I won't repeat that mistake. Now I do other mistakes Smiley
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin prices are controlled. Accidentally or intentionally? on: August 29, 2018, 08:26:35 AM
There are clear boom and boost cycles in Bitcoin, they are useful to shed out all the noobs and leave only the strongest holders that know what they are dealing with. There's a lot of people holding Bitcoin that don't deserve to hold Bitcoin because they don't understand it, so these will be forced to panic sell. Governments and whales will keep stacking up on coins, then they will declare it world reserve currency and then the noobs that sold will complain that Bitcoin is controlled by a small elite.

That is a beautiful way to put it, even though it may not be totally accurate in the endgame prediction. Governments would probably create their own coins, something they can control.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - Free Airdrop on: August 29, 2018, 08:11:31 AM
This coin not mine, algorithm dPOS. If you have coins, you can vote for any of the 100 validators and get %, on this site http://pool.7u.org/ approximate awards for 1000 votes. Or yourself become a validator, you will have to burn 1000 coins, collect about 55,000 votes(coins), place the validator on a good server and receive your coins, now block rewards 3 sem for block.
Lol, it is too strange, honestly.
I have never invest into any project which has strange block reward mechanism like SEMUX.
Validators can earn coins through their votes. Sounds strange.

Yes, but you must be in the top 100 validators to generate coins, the competition is very large. Already now 6 delegates with 50k votes can not get to the list of validators. You validators should be interested (% of reward), that they would vote for you.
You probably do not understand how the POS algorithm works.
Nobody forces you to invest)

Quite a mysterious mechanics. Trying to understand if that's only a game or if the Whole mechanism has a sustainable sense. Is there any one pager to explain the exact logich of all this?

Its marvelous mechanics. U dont need thousands of validators to move the chain in a decentralized fashion. U only need a select few of them. Two validators could take the burden of servicing the network in an unrivalled way, and now think about a paradise where all the guiding force is concentrated in the hands of one single validator. This can take u to the next level.

Are you talking about the Rothschield family? In which case we are already at the next level Smiley
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I wish I dump all the BTC in late DEC 2017 on: August 23, 2018, 11:18:34 PM
what a year, wish I dump all the coin in late DEC lol

and today, spend the 100% from that capital and bought it again, so u still holding the same amount as late DEC while steady with the 900% profits..

Lol, welcome into the club which already contains 99% of people holding Bitcoins. However, if ALL of those people now regretting of NOT having ssold their BTCs at all time high in December 2017, WOULD have sold their BTCs at that time, the price of BTC would have dropped to 1$, and not it would have probably already rallied a 100X up to 100$. And 99% of the people would be even more unhappy.
20  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Ledger Wallet - Smartcard security for your bitcoins on: August 21, 2018, 01:50:22 PM
For some reason after the release of the Ledger Live program I can install a less quantity of wallets on the Ledger at the same time. Not clear why.
Well, Ledger Live is just a new desktop interface. None of the Ledger coin apps have changed, so everything is the same as before.

If this were true, how comes that now there is less space on my ledger? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall everything in different orders - result doesn't change. There is pace for one app less now. A mystery.
