1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Develop[crypto] - Revolutionary Freelance Business Model! on: March 04, 2018, 04:35:48 AM
Definitely interested.

When is the demo coming?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bit coin Will' Totally Collapse" on: January 20, 2018, 04:17:53 AM
Hello guys, what the title says what are your opinions about this news?even if it takes one hundred years from now?
This is not the first time that Shiller has given bitcoin a bearish forecast. In 2014,he called bitcoin an amazing example of a bubble, adding that currency-wise it is a return to the dark ages.last month he opened the bitcoin's ethology would be a wonderful story if only it will true and predicted that although it may not immediately crash to zero, it will definitely come down considerable.

https://www.ccn.com/bitcoin-will-totally-collapse-even-takes-100-years-nobel-prize-winner/

It makes little sense because since he said that it grew 15x. Even if BTC collapses - blockchain won't. There are many fascinating projects based on blockchain. People started to understand it's value.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on WiFi on: January 20, 2018, 02:42:11 AM
I know it's advised to use an ethernet connection but...

So, if you have to use a WiFi connection, how do you do it? Use a USB adapter? setup a WiFi router near the rig to create a sub-network?

You could connect the miner to the wifi adapter using ethernet. Then connect the wifi adapter to your wifi. That's at least one inexpensive way to do it.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain just announced the AntMiner A3 - 815GH/s Siacoin miner - Blake(2b) on: January 20, 2018, 02:05:17 AM
Can someone tell me if we can run these in a aprtment in the US? I believe we have 125 V 15 A breakers. But the APW++ PSU on bitmain site says that 110 V will only provide 1200 W ourput. Are we SOL? Will the bathroom or kitchen special outlets do any help?

You'll be able to power a single A3 on one of those circuits, but I wouldn't use a single APW3++. I'd go for the EVGA SuperNova 1600 G2 instead. We have a ton of customers who attempted to run the S9 with an APW3++ over 120v circuits and would often experience hashing boards that would just disappear until the next reboot. Moving to 220v circuits almost always fixes the issue permanently. The point is that the APW3++ will still attempt to output the full amount needed by the miner, but the power will likely be less consistent and you'll also be increasing your fire hazard risk. If you insist on using the APW3++, then get 2 of them and run some hashing boards on one and the rest on the other.

Thank you for the quick response. I ordered the APW3++ already along with the A3 Sad. I am also looking to use a colocation in a couple of weeks so I believe they will be able to accomodate the APW3++? Until then (1 to 2 weeks), I will have to run in my aprtment. Is it risky to run for even a short period of time? Am I risking low hashing and restart once in a while? Or am I risking to kill the miner or burn the house?

Also, can you post a link to a power cord to buy for the APW3++? I have spare ones that came with EVGA 750 BQ psus. One says 105 C 3 x 18 AWG (0.824 mm2) 300V. Other one says 60 C 3/c 18 AWG (0.824 mm2) 300 V. Are they good or bad to use with this?

Can someone answer this please?

Short answer: Its a new machine so no one can be sure. You can be the first to try it and let us know how it goes.

That said, here is what I guess...
A3 consumes 1200W so you should be good with APW++ at 110V (I only run mine @240V). It takes any regular computer power cable (C13).
Do you have access to the breaker switch in case you trip it? If not then you have to take more care.
Antminers can be loud! Noise might be your biggest concern not power.

If you are really, really daring and are ok with voiding your warranty you can power up one or two boards instead of all 3.

When you power it up that first night treat it like a new born baby. Don't sleep. Just watch it hash away all night.

Good luck!

Yes, I do have access to the breaker. Yes, I am aware of noise and heat. Since it is only for a couple of weeks until I move it to a colocation, I am ok with the heat/noise.

Should we connect via a surge protector? Or is that unecessary?

Using a surge protector IS a good idea. Bitmain's miners are afraid of two things:

1. Dust.
2. Voltage drops/rises.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why did I lose on trade ?? on: December 24, 2017, 02:04:14 PM
Hello I don’t understand I bought for 4000 Eur one hour ago of Ethereum when it was going up, it stayed around the 10-20%, it started to decrease 5 minutes ago so I sold it and now cex.io just gave me 3500eur for it... wtf... Huh
The %came from me watching livecoinwatch.. Cex.io doesn’t have the accurate price ??

First thing you should look at is the rate on the exchange you are trading in. It may be significantly different than on all other exchanges.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My Own Private Portfolio on: December 24, 2017, 01:29:31 PM
Im going to publish here my portfolio. And put some explanation for my actions.
Its interesting to see how stupid...or genius it will look a year from now.

Here we go
1 BTC - cause its real deal. I think its kind of most useful coin and its ETF for all other stuff
2 ETH - same as BTC. No clue but need to have it.
3 LTC - some times it has his moments in lending. Plus if transactoin cost 0.01 of currency, its better be cheep currency
4 ZEC - im always for anonymity
5 CLAM - very good lending on Poloniex
6 Stratis - investing in casinos looks nice
7 DeepOnion - im in airdrop so what the hell

Planing to buy
NEO - cause its chinese thingy, i think they will form they own market at some time
DASH - Cause diversify

I believe all the other cryptocurrencies you are holding, besides Bitcoin, will only pull down your full profit potential. Look at the charts and see how all of the altcoins do not go up in value as consistently as Bitcoin. There is also the risk that some of those altcoins will die, like Clam.

He still made decent profit, even with CLAM dying. NEO went up a shit ton, such as others.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Insurance on: December 24, 2017, 12:39:12 PM
Regular 'home insurance' should at least cover part of the damages. If any equipment you have at home is destroyed or stolen, your plan should cover at least up to a few k$ most likely at a cost of say 20-30$ a month I'm guessing.

I know that's not perfect, but yeah.

Product Liability Insurance, I'm not sure how that applies to this since you're not selling physical products. Then again, I'm not too well-versed in insurnace.

People who were mining in houston during the flood were not reinburned for thier mining equipment with home onweres insurance

one guy had over 100k in gear and isurance is refusing to cover it.  You are best off being direct and straightforward with your insurance to make sure they know

what they have to cover straight up

House insurance shouldn't cover mining equipment. Why would he think that it would? It's not something personal that should be in your house.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Turn $10,000 into 1 Million on: December 24, 2017, 11:31:24 AM
Not sure if this was done already but out of curiosity I went back to calculate a buy and hold strategy using HR's OP which was:

$10k investment:
50% LTC
10% BTS
10% STEEM
10% SYS
10% NXT
5% PIVX
5% NEM

After checking the value of each coin on his post date (May 27th 2017) I then compared it to today's market price in USD. Maths seem to show that if HR bought and held with no re-balancing or change of holdings:

LTC: $59k
BTS: 14k
STEEM: 3.6k
SYS: 7.3k
NXT: 49k
PIVX: 6.5k
NEM: 2.6k

Total: 142k

His current portfolio's (with different holdings and %'s) worth 513k, so HR's made an extra 371k compared to buy and hold. Absolutely amazing. It also shows that if you have no financial knowledge of trading and just picked good alts with fundamentals you still would've made 14x your initial investment within 7 months. Sounds almost too good to be true, have I missed anything here?

1400% in 7 months is definitely amazing. No banks will give you that  Grin
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: December 24, 2017, 11:07:28 AM
Whether its bitcoin trading or altcoin trading, there is bound to come a time when your investment is getting dumped badly, and its panic time.
How do you panic? Does that really make you panic and do you take decisions that you actually regretted later? Or do you keep calm and HODL?
What makes you panic and how do you react to it?

If you invest, you shouldn't panic and always have some budget to buy more when it downfalls. That's at least what I do.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long awaited Bitcoin correction(+) on: December 24, 2017, 10:58:22 AM
I'm totally agree with your opinion, Bitcoin coin easily reach to 25-28k in new year.

Probably not by new year, by March seems more possible. The correction was quite large, way bigger than expected.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: i lost 20% of my budget on: December 24, 2017, 10:43:18 AM
why are all these cryptocurrencies are going down?

So what? When investing in any crypto you should be prepared to lose 100%. Are you a trader or an investor? Anyways, the question seems weird for both. You shouldn't be panicking that quickly.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bubble Burst ? on: December 24, 2017, 10:21:59 AM
The Bitcoin correction seems too far and too quick . Hold ? Or sell and buy Bitcoin Cash? Or BTG or BTH? Any suggestions ?

My opinion is that it will not drop much more. I personally will hold and sell at 20-25k.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fire Risk in Mining Rigs? on: December 22, 2017, 12:43:03 AM
I'm currently running a 4 card mining rig with powered pcie 006c risers and a 1200W high quality Corsair PSU. The GPUs run at around 69C when mining.

However I was just wondering if there were any fire risks associated with the rig and if it is safe to have the rig running 24/7 next to the walls in my house (drywall).

I know this is probably being over cautious but am just making sure. Thanks Smiley

There is definitely a fire risk. Put protection when the chip reaches cap temperature on your GPU, it will greatly help
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I think I'm doing something wrong! on: December 22, 2017, 12:19:35 AM
My apologies, I'm running:

ccminer 2.2 mining monero using cryptonight algorithm,
Current (NVidia) driver i'm using is 23.21.13.8813

What settings are you running on?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is this a good mining rig to start with? (Eth) Help on: December 22, 2017, 12:08:18 AM
I think you should stick with Nvidia. No bios mod.
Check the 1060 and 1070 numbers.

And that PSU, ive never heard anything about this brand.

I would recommend the 1060's. Had both and 1060's gave me less trouble.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Insurance on: December 21, 2017, 11:49:45 PM
Anyone have a property insurance policy for their home mining operation?

I have over $10,000 worth of mining equipment, with more on the way.

Trying to keep my costs down, every insurance company I have talk to say I need to get general liability insurance with property insurance, and that gets expensive.

Just trying to protect my self from theft/fire.

I have regular insurance from Progressive for property where I insure the value of my miners.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Explaining "WHY" Bitcoin Will Go to $100k by 2020 and $1 Million USD by 2025 on: December 08, 2017, 12:58:42 AM
It is what it IS, the USA is entering a second civil war

PPL need to get out of CHINA&USA and take their money, GOV has already created capital exit flow

With modern TSA you can't buy GOLD & run, they'll steal it ( cops )

So BITCOIN is the only exit strategy, like it or not BITCOIN will go to $100k in the coming year, and much higher in future, for the simple reason that there will be no other place to store your wealth in 'fluid' form

Real Estate is NOT safe in a civil war, winners redistribute all wealth, smart people bail before the shooting begins, thus RICH people are buying BITCOIN so they can have an anonymous stash, and go anywhere on earth to wait out the coming civil war in USA where population will drop from 330M to 80M ( google deagel report, cia/ford foundation population report for 2025 USA )

***

In summary HODL, accumulate, hold, hide, bury ( deep in your mind ) and wait

In spite of all the BULLSHIT, if you keep your BTC off the exchanges, if you choose a well designed 'passphrase'/'salt' seed combo, you BTC will never be stolen, your stash will always be safe.

The USA money system is collapsing the biggest PONZI on earth is not BITCOIN, it is the US-TREASURY and FIAT b FORCE, the power of the US DOLLAR is death, but with Saudi  Collapsing, the USA petro-dollar no longer has an anchor, if the USA could 'steal' North Korea and get their mineral wealth ( rare earth minerals ) and their oil reserves then USA might get another 100 years, but in all likelihood the system will collapse in the next two years.

Give the planned 80% population reduction of USA, and given no means of getting your wealth OUT, that only leaves the crypto-currency, there is NO other exit. Sure you can stash diamonds up your ass, but new TSA gadgets can see that shit too, the only way to be a 'soveriegn man' these days is to be in BTC with a level-3 'brainwallet' ( pass+salt+seed ), with no proof on any electronic device that you own or know about CC, then just travel as you wish, and move your wealth.

Given the current situation where there is NO other game, that all exchanges and stock-market companys are GOVERNMENT RAN, there simply is no other 'off-the-grid' solution to the coming civil war.

It probably won't reach that high. Fees are stupid and the only reason BTC up right now is because of hype.

Not surprised at all. It was coming.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC touches 20k, Nicehash hacked ~100 million, selling altcoins for Bitcoin on: December 08, 2017, 12:29:53 AM
I'm not really the crypto news guy, and I try to stick mostly to facts on my channel however this video is a recap of the last 24 hours in crypto and some of my opinions/outlook/predictions

What are your thoughts in comparison to mine? BTC 40k next year? more or less?

Is nicehash coming back?

Is the BTC train going to continue up or are you moving your BTC into some alts or out of crypto entirely? ( never that Cheesy )

https://youtu.be/ZoOrOCaCLs0

I think BTC should drop soon and alt's will skyrocket!
