2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan Found Guilty Of Money Laundering on: November 20, 2017, 05:03:17 AM
CEO of JPMorgan, Jamie Dimon, has also been hard at work the last few months proclaiming bitcoin to be a fraud. Dimon did not limit himself to calling bitcoin a fraud either.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak rebutted Dimon’s comments by emphasizing bitcoin’s legitimacy. He reminded both Dimon and listeners of bitcoin’s qualities as a decentralized, transparent and peer-network operated, thus making it highly resistant to censorship.

Wozniak, apparently offended by Dimon’s comments, went on to add that bitcoin was purely mathematical, as was he a mathematician. Dimon’s accusations of bitcoin appeared to be largely self-serving, being made suspiciously soon after the colossal failure of JPMorgan’s blockchain technology, Quorum.

Other representatives of the bank claimed JPMorgan was open-minded as far as bitcoin was concerned. In an ongoing debate, there is talk of Dimon using the bank to trade bitcoin, and in doing so, circumventing anti-money laundering regulations enforced by Switzerland.

Just curious. Who’s going to jail?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Gold Announcement on: November 08, 2017, 10:25:40 PM

Dogecoin is one of the most active crypto-currencies in the market. Dogecoin went on the crypto market on December 15, 2013. About to turn 4 years old and paradoxically tried to be the humorist version of the cryptocurrency father, Bitcoin.

Currently Dogecoin has 111,713,537,608 DOGE in circulation and is used to make low cost and fast exchanges.

Dogecoin Gold is the new community project built on the ethereum blockchain.

Dogecoin Gold is for investors who love Dogecoin but really hate the large circulating supply. DOGEG is bridging this gap between community and investing.
Please stop by our twitter page and have a chat with us. We are happy to answer your questions.
Feel free to visit our official website www.dogecoingold.com for more information. (We are currently updating our site also.)

We are almost at the end of our very successful Twitter and Facebook airdrop. We are now looking at adding DOGEG to various exchanges.

Over the past week we have done extensive advertising and community adoption.

Please Join our twitter channel where you can see what is going on.

Dogecoin Gold has a low 5 million circulating supply. Please see additional information of our website and channels below.

I think a better ticker symbol would be GDOG.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Already More Valuable Than Many National Currencies on: November 05, 2017, 10:47:08 PM
This is ridiculous, I wanna see you trying to get a sandwich/house with bitcoins in those countries.

Try spending Singapore Dollars in the USA!

You’re missing the point.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin will become the main coin, what will happen to the money we are using on: September 12, 2017, 04:18:42 PM
Of course our money will continue to exist and can be used until whenever, this is because fiat money will continue to be protected by the state through the central bank.

I like how you say protected when I think you mean forced Wink
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin will become the main coin, what will happen to the money we are using on: September 12, 2017, 04:17:56 PM
i wonder: if Bitcoin will become the main coin, what will happen to the money we are using now like us dollar?

Altcoins like dollars will still be useful for paying off your govt (aka taxes), as well as anonymous transactions for booze (oh wait, that’s legal now), weed (oh, wait...), hookers?, crime?

Worst case, shredded and fluffed they make great filling for pillows as the paper is actually a high quality cotton hybrid.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long-term hodlfolio on: September 12, 2017, 03:12:49 PM
I'm planning to invest big chunk of my money into cryptocurrencies. I'm absorbing all informations since April 2017. So I'm still quite new but I feel confident enough.
I want to buy some hardware wallet like Trezor and put my money there. Everyday I'm reading news, watch youtube channels and others. Even attended on one blockchain meetup.
This whole stuff is taking so much time and is kinda stresfull but very fascinating at once.
I'm not gonna put all of my money at once, I will do it periodically in the upcoming months.

The main reason I'm doing that is I wanna invest my money so it would work for me and bring profits over time (I want to hold crypto for 2 years at least).
Other than that I wanna focus on other life aspects so daytrading isn't an option, I want to take some time off from crypto-sphere.

Here's my picks for long term hodling Cheesy
  • BTC (I'm thinking of 40-60% for the whole portfolio)
  • ETH
  • LTC
  • LSK
  • DASH
  • NXS
  • ETC

I'm only thinking of coins with future, as some of you may know there is a lot of coins that will eventually go down to zero.
What coins have bright future in your opinion? What do you think so far of my approach?

2 of those and maybe 3 should be removed from long term holdings. If you can’t guess which ones I mean you need to research more.

Don’t buy Monero. Just kidding. Monero would be a good addition.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BCH Wallet For Jaxx on: September 07, 2017, 04:58:51 PM
Hi there,

Does anybody know what the latest status is with Jaxx and their proposed Bitcoin Cash wallet?

I had Bitcoin in there at the time of the hard fork and heard they were supporting a BCH wallet.

Thanks!

No. But the bitcoin.com Copay fork supports bitcoin cash and runs on just about every platform.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adi Schamir (the 'S' in RSA) predicts Bitcoin's death in 2040 on: September 07, 2017, 04:57:35 PM
Article is in German: http://www.businessinsider.de/bitcoin-experte-krypto-waehrungen-werden-aussterben-2017-9
He talks about Bitcoin beeing a ponzi (only the founders are becoming rich) and in the future governments will fight Bitcoin and this will lead to a big dump and the death of Bitcoin by 2040.
Adi Shamir is one of the inventors of RSA. Shouldn't he know better?

He knows his math like no one else. But I would say he is not an expert in predicting the future any more than anyone else.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.0005 fees = $50 at 100k btc ... use limit on: August 29, 2017, 05:16:17 AM
What is the solution to this for on chain transaction, I mean sure if LN gets in, but LN still does not seem to be a secure and the same as being on chain. I may misunderstand this.

However at $50 a transaction you limiting your user base, even at $2 a transaction roughly what it is now.....

Is btc destined to become basically sovereign wealth? / store of value, which I admit is a massive killer app.......?

I can kinda see Jihans arguments for BCH, though the negs are perhaps miner centralization.

various views are justified if core does not at least adopt 2X.

I think BTC is going to 100K and beyond but a fee of x hundred per online transaction carves out most users....it sorta leaves BTC vulnerable to a crypto that can do both.

I see your point. Using LN for small purchases makes sense but not being able to afford to fund LN means it might not be adopted.

11  Economy / Economics / Re: How many can resist selling off their BTC for huge profits? on: August 26, 2017, 05:45:27 AM
What percent of people do you think are able to resist selling their BTC when confronted with huge profits they've obtained.  Say 500% or more even?

Here’s the “problem”:

Say you now have $20000000 equivilant in Bitcoin. There is no bank in the world that any sane person would trust that amount of money to.

The only sane thing to do is 1. buy gold or 2. (much easier) keep the bitcoin.

This is why most super wealthy bitcoin owners are not running to sell their bitcoin for bank money.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT Help on: August 19, 2017, 06:43:55 PM
Can anyone help me export private key from this usdt to btc screw up? bittrix has washed their hands of it, here is their support advice

Tyler Lock (Bittrex Support)

Hi,

As I have said earlier you have sent USDT to a BTC address, these wallets have addresses that validate to each other, but the wallets are not compatible for receiving coins. You'll need to research how to remove a private key from a Bitcoin address and import it into a USDT wallet to recover these coins. You may want to contact someone from the USDT community for help.  We can be of no further assistance on this issue.
Thank you,
Tyler @ Bittrex

It's no problem if you have the private key.

Download Omni wallet Core and import the private key through the debug console.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: prediction on 2018 bitcoin will become on: August 08, 2017, 09:43:19 PM
i think it is impossible to reach $50k this year, more than 2000% in a matter of 4 months, it is not possible.
But $3,5k - $4k is a little more realistic, by the end of this year.

But $3,5k Welcome to today.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero offline Wallet? on: August 08, 2017, 09:36:06 PM
Hey,
where I can store my XMR in a safe place? The Wallet from getmonero don't work.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree with Polo and Bitfinex stopping their operations in Washington? on: July 30, 2017, 09:10:24 PM
I just want the government as far away from crypto as possible.  Inch by inch they're going to try and grab as much control as possible.  Fast forward 10-years and it wouldn't surprise me if there's a massive federal department called something like "Cryptocurrency Safety and Economic Freedom Department."  Every blockchain has to be stored or available on centralized servers in Washington DC.

(yes I'm bitter, as someone who's fought the IRS over stock dividends and capital gains)

But worse. Taxes on wages are illegal!

Fuck them, man. I'll be bitter with you Smiley
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is accepting by top10% people now. And all we need to do is one T-shirt on: July 30, 2017, 09:07:47 PM
And the T-shirt is printing a big big big B(BTC symbol). Roll Eyes

And then more people can know the great BTC,
The BTC will become more popular ,
And then 30% people will accept it. This is the most important stage.
And then the 70% will very fast.
Like The Christianity. Roll Eyes

You think 70% Christianity. Try 17% Smiley that's why they are so angry and violent. They are loosing the game they think they are playing and think it helps them win - whatever the fuck that is.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: prediction on 2018 bitcoin will become on: July 30, 2017, 06:31:34 AM
who know bitcoin will become in 2018 i think its not possible it become 50k USD  Grin Grin

Sorry if you need $50k Bitcoin next year you will besad that the two forecasts are $18k and $44k depending on certain trend analysis, supply/demand and world politics.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT mathematically limited to twenty one million bitcoins on: July 28, 2017, 06:12:36 PM
Bitcoin is NOT mathematically limited to twenty one million bitcoins.

I do not support raising the cap at this time but if we had overwhelming support like we did for Segwit we could raise the limit to any number we could dream up.

I would have no issue changing the code to allow a 1 bitcoin reward for every block forever... to ensure a strong distributed mining community.

I understand this must sound like blasphemy to the majority of the community but it irks me to see such a false statement about bitcoin repeated over and over again in every Bitcoin youtube video out there; there has to be a better way to phase it.

I see your point, op.

Let's hope SegWit is the worst mistake we make. A mistake as you describe would mean we actually failed in this Bitcoin experiment. Hopefully less than 50% of the miners will also ever think so.
