I'm running v2.0.5.  I tried v2.0.6 but it kept crashing on my apollo.  Have you tried reverting  back to v2.0.5 and if so, is that network issue stable on the old version?  I would think it's a problem with the network adapter, initially.  My node and miner are running happy on the old version right now.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'd love to upgrade, but it should be easy.  THe download and reboot crashed on me.  flashing a new microsd got the system to boot but then crash.

Plus I hate that when you flash a new microsd, it does not remember your address and you are forced to go through that at the initial startup.  Is there a way to skip the startup page so settings could be loaded from a backup?

I upgraded my Apollo 1 a month ago to 2.0.6 and not a single issue.  I am also running an Apollo 2 standard off of my Apollo 1.  Constant 63/64 connections.  It's in my office so it is running in eco mode.  I use an ethernet cable.

I just ran my gen 2 node and that update went perfect. I rebooted the old node but still no local access. The node and additional miner are running though as I can see them in the solo mining dashboard. I just can't access the dashboard for the old node remote or direct.

I upgraded my gen 1 node - I just use http://futurebit-apollo-btc/miner to access it - maybe that will work for you

peetee,

That is weird its not booting up?  Do you get the gui?  If yes you can launch terminal and try and debug your network config but no idea why that should have changed by swapping m2 drives.  I guess make sure its seated firmly in the m2 slot?  Are you sure network cable connection is good as well?  Yeah obvious things but who knows.

I did switch my miner to eco mode until it was synced to keep temps down - i forgot to mention that.

Mine booted, got to the gui, I went to Settings, in the bottom lower right under Extra Settings I selected the Format Node NVME SSD and I was off and running - took a few days to finish synching.

Peetee,

I finally got around to upgrading my gen 1 to a 1TB drive 2 weeks ago and it synced fine.

I did enable the TOR option but I am thinking its your drive - they are so cheap I would probably try another - I used an M2 drive $42 on amazon

Another small miner hit yesterday with only 13TH!  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237323.msg59142900#msg59142900

Lets go!

I see someone hit a block with the USB stick miner running 4.1.12?   What is the latest cgminer for R606?

Thanks
The 606 is not cgminer version specific per-se but it DOES require that the version has drivers for it. Prior to Kano updating cgminer to run the F, all Gekko products required using VH's fork of 4.11. It will run just fine using the latest 4.12.0 from Kano as he has included drivers for all of the Gekko products as well as all the previous legacy drivers for other chips.

Thanks - I pulled Kano's version and compiled for my Raspberry Pi and it works great.

@Sledge0001 is a celebrity now. Even in local language newspaper, these miner images are there.

Hahaha. Lucky should be my name.

I really want to thank everyone on the forum for their support and guidance.
Particularly thank you to the following:

-CK <-- Your pool has changed my world and wallet balance forever.
Kano <-- Your software and guidance was invaluable.
SideHack <-- You evil genius your hardware although small was extremely effective.
Willi9974 <-- I used the funds won from one of your block parties to buy the hardware
419Mining.com <-- Seller of the Compac F's
AsicPuppy.com  <-- Seller of the Compac F's

I chose to share it was me for a few reasons:

1. Why shouldn't I share my success with others? I'd love to see you all hit.
2. Share the fact that you can still get lucky on the ever growing Bitcoin Blockchain even as a small or in my case micro solo miner. I am hopeful that this brings more small miners into scene.
3. Draw attention to smaller pools. It's a shame there are a few "big" pools out there that dominate most of the mining.
4. Yes I hit on a USB Miner Stick. I had 9 GekkoScience Compac F's (all overclocked) running cgminer on a HP Omen machine (That was also mining ETH at the time) hence the name "The Omen"
5. The 86TH that was seen on my account was mostly rented hashpower from Nicehash that had stopped prior to me finding the block. To be clear no rented hashpower was used to mine this block.
6. My entire USB Mining Farm consists of about 8.2TH - 9.3TH. The Omen had about 3.65TH of that at the time of finding the block.
7. I wanted to share the images of my setup and cgminer to show indisputable proof of what had transpired. (I too would be ultra skeptical if someone told me they hit like this on a USB stick miner).

Now because I hit big should I give up now? Nah... I am still mining with ALL my USB Stick miners as you can see here: https://solo.ckpool.org/users/3EoqjNmeaaVvVDCPbVXxQQRH6UFpDUqpPg

Again thank you all.

Thanks for sharing - it is a great story and inspiration for all solo miners.

And thanks for helping me with cgminer 4.1.12 the Kano version.  I am using linux (raspberry pi) so I just had to grab his source from GitHub and build it and now its running like a clock.

Here is the OMEN's 9 USB Stick Miners:

And here's the CGMiner image showing the 35.5T submitted!!!

HOLY SHIT!!! I'm still going nuts over here....

Sledge0001 - I see in your pic your running 4.12?  Is that just for the stick miners or can you run it on R606 and if so where did you get it?

Thanks and Congrats!
