Do you have permission to sell these scripts?
Bitshop doesn't allow you to resell their code, so I'd think he doesn't have the rights to sell any of them.

I see, took the necessary action.

I bought and paid for it therefore it's mine and I can do what I wish.

I like what you did with the SP20s and PSUs and the window.

Just as important as the electricity  rates  is the  access to technology.

With the  big boys  investing  millions into chips  at .3 to .1 efficiency  to mine for  themselves they  have no incentive  to  sell to retail  or other competitors.

actually they may believe what you just wrote.  but they will crash the price of btc if they don't keep small guys in the game.

why invest in holding btc if only 3 to 4  places control the supply?

unlike diamonds which have real use other then bling, drill bits come to mind

btc is purely  a cash substitute.  I can't see an investor wanting to hold 100,000 coins in the way an investor holds shares of APPLE (any company) if the mining is centralized to 3-5 companies.

I also still see miners in the home as space heaters.  I am not sure why

DeLonghi has not merged or started a joint venture with btc in mind

http://www.amazon.com/DeLonghi-EW7707CM-Safeheat-ComforTemp-Oil-Filled/dp/B000TGDGLU/ref=sr_1_1?

I totally agree. If you just buy BTC and then Bitfury would want to crush KnC or vice versa by dropping the price, thereby crushing the value of my BTC 'investment', then it would be stupid to have such investment in the first place.

For mass consumption, space heaters is one possibility, second is, perhaps, routers. Everyone uses a router. Why not add low power hashing chip(s) to it?
Third-refrigerator. It releases a bit of heat already, so why not a bit more while hashing.
I wouldn't add any to a refrigerator, those things already eat up tons of power
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 26, 2015, 08:11:38 PM
So my SP10 just arrived (ordered from Ebay) and so far it's made me decide not to buy anything from the website again. The case is banged up to hell to the point that the power supply wouldn't even slide out. The unit was not well protected even in the cardboard box... So does anyone have any tips for opening up an sp10? I'm going to take the casing and see if I can bend the dents out.
The boxes aren't really meant for double/multiple shipping times. After the first shipment the box usually gets banged up a little but not much, but it weakens the packaging enough for the next shipment to just fall apart. If it came by pallet originally you get 1 extra shipment out of it usually. I wouldn't buy a SP10 in original packaging I would want it / make sure its wrapped in bubble wrap and potentially a new box.
6  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Girl Scout Cookies on: February 10, 2015, 04:33:20 PM
Hahaha, anybody know the game Bitcoin Billionaire?
It's for iOS (and Android maybe? Never looked), a game a là Cookie Clicker, but with bitcoins.
I bring this up because of the girl scout cookies, you can buy those as a powerup in game (it taps for you).

Just thought that was funny.

Small world, huh?

http://bitcoinist.net/bitcoin-billionaire-exclusive-interview/

Cool! Never saw that interview. What do you mean by "small world", though? Is there something I missed?

I'm a small senior in highschool and we got iPads this year... Its really fun to see how different apps spread like wildfire between people. This game was popular at one point...
You should go thank the tech department, I had to set up iPads when I worked for the highschool I used to go to. 150+ per class is not the most fun thing to be doing.
7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: February 05, 2015, 10:54:25 PM
@thomas_s

Oh I didn't know that.  Thank you for telling me this.  But look how much they have received and the final balance now.  They are trying to spend the bitcoins, probably converting it to cash, and running without paying any taxes.  This should be the major issue here.  These scumbags are like Mark Karpeles of Mt. Gox and so many individuals like myself have lost their money believing the crap they keep saying.  They should go to jail for these crimes.
I have an order with them, not saying anything but the reason for the double spend warning.

Also if I'm not mistaken I think that address was the address they also send refunds from, the payout id xxx is what refund id they sent. (This could be wrong but I believe they or someone posted it somewhere).

Mine to address then send refund (is how its supposed to go).
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: February 05, 2015, 05:21:13 PM
Hi Everyone,

This is Bitmine BTC address: https://blockchain.info/address/19ChCimAiz8Az8P1KdLeaiQ8ZZw12Vuw4r.  As you can see they are even cheating the system by double spending.  These people are criminals and hope that they go to jail ASAP.  Please make sure you share this anyone you know that is did or thinking about doing business with them.  Be warned now, this operation was setup as a scam from the beginning to steal money, don't pay any taxes, and try to avoid any kind recourse for these crimes.  It's really sad actually.  They are the scum and low-lives.

Actually that note for double spend is because of newly generated coins, blockchain.info will put that warning for anyone getting direct payouts from mining (like p2pool payouts).

after a power cut, my sp30 wont mine.

2 sp20s and 4 s2 ants are all ok, the sp30 powers up  but no yellow/green led

ive tried half a dozen sd recoveries with my 'old' recovery sd - that worked on sp30 & sp20 previously - no joy

half a dozen with a newly formatted/fresh sd card - no joy at all

the power supplies leds are lit green

...

We have the same problem but with a SP31
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is minersource.net legit on: January 29, 2015, 10:19:23 PM
I placed one order with them and had no problem, so I decided to place a second larger order and when it did not ship when promised, I asked for a refund and at first was told they could not process the refund due to their credit card processor reviewing all transactions. They offered to send me a company check but that sounded very fishy to me so I refused and called my credit card company and disputed the charge. I emailed Minersource, informing them I had disputed the charge and all of a sudden they processed the refund.

Very shady, I won't do business with them again. I was lucky and wont push my luck.
I remember yours it took me five failed attempts and a 30 minute phone call to Shopify to get your refund processed. I even provided you with the failed authorization numbers in your tickets.

You also didn't create a dispute with your credit card company, your order never showed a dispute pending.

Have you ever considered in forming an alliance like OPEC to limit the hash rate race?  Wink  I just saw Bitfury said that their cloud service would only add hardware based on demand, is this a trend towards more cloud based service?
It's funny to read it from mega self miner.
No, it's illegal.

How is that illegal?  Smiley It is just a consensus (if it ever can be reached). Even pools can be allied together to protect against a faulty fork in 2013, and against potential 51% attack if it ever happens

Imagine a vendor that have leading semi-conductor process 10nm, he can limit his production scale at a certain level so that the network hash rate increase slowly. He then could start a cloud mining service and sell the hash power at market rate, which leaves him large margin to deal with market volatility. I think that is what Bitfury means

In the USA there is an antitrust law preventing companies from joining together to set / fix prices and supply. Its to promote fair competition for the consumers.
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic for home mining. on: January 29, 2015, 07:26:10 PM
I voted when poll was here, so did the data transferred to google or we shall vote there again?
Google poll requires login with google credentials, not btctalk-this is kind of defeats the purpose.
yeah  if you do not have a gmail account you can't vote there.

Surveymonkey is free for the first 100 responses and doesn't need a login. You'll also be able to limit people to voting by 1 per computer, IP etc in case there is any abuse.
I have one that only requires a webserver to run / take responses.

I've even made some questions but stopped seeing as there was a google form, if SP would like what I've done so far / to see it I would be happy to show them / give it to them.

Its a bit more detailed. If they send me a PM / email I'll show it to them and make changes if they request and finish it =)
It's Philip thread, he runs the show.

I am looking to back off here. As I am a little dog.  I would like us to try to create a decent survey So thomas_s  shoot me a pm  and one to sp-tech. I will look at it. We can brainstorm it a bit. Since this is more of a joint effort. It will at least be some kind of effort to make a fair clear cut survey.
I can't actively run a manufacturer survey.
Usually with research surveys / market research surveys the manufacturers only part in is to have some input on the questions / what they are looking to accomplish and the final report / stats of the results. The running, main creation and tabulation of results are done by an outside company.

15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to tell the difference between S3 and S3+ on: January 28, 2015, 05:07:28 AM
Does anyone know how to tell the difference between an S3 and a S3+ ? Some of mine just say "S3" and others say "TP-Link TL-WR743N/ND v2" as the model?

Thanks

There should be a little plate on one of the sides that says S3 or S3+ with a Bitmain logo
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic for home mining. on: January 27, 2015, 10:24:12 PM
Some questions I feel are missing:

- Which manufacturer sells the most profitable hardware (historically)?
- Which manufacturer sells hardware best designed for the home?
- Which manufacturer ships on time the most?
2nd two are ok first one is not. The reason for it is simple profit is determined by the person who has the equipment, how they purchased, when they purchased, how much it costs in power.

For that one I would still say SP, SP has been more profitable on equipment than any of the other companies (baring if you had one of the first few BFL products), Bitmain has sold equipment and before the units even shipped dropped the price by a decent amount, their reaction was literally a shrug like o well.

Second question is a bit better, still personal preference tho, I don't really mind any noise that is constant as long as it doesn't change frequently I could care less at noise level, exposed PCB's are not something I'd like lying around my house.

Third question, very favorable towards Bitmain, if I'm not mistaken they have missed a shipping deadline once or twice before, but then again they ship from farms.

Putting a why did you select this answer is a good way to actually judge the meanings of the answers.

Something like,
1) Which manufacturer sells hardware best designed for the home?
1a) Why did you make that selection

2) Which manufacturer sells hardware best designed for a data center?
2a) Why....

Using only multiple choice causes a problem where every question can be "sided" towards one person / company, if you've ever participated in research surveys you should know that most of the questions are scale based or put in your own text / explanation. (I've both made / calculated the results and participated in these)
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic for home mining. on: January 27, 2015, 10:09:42 PM
Next question: Which manufacturer is located closest to Israel?

I support you making another manufacturers trustworthiness thread, but seriously those are bad questions. It's painfully obvious that this was SP-tech's idea idea because all the questions pander to their strengths.
What questions would you ask?

To me those questions are ones that anyone would ask when looking at a manufacturer and wanting to make a decision on who to purchase from. But it could be expanded a bit more in detail.

I'd be happy to put one together if provided some of the questions(open ended, multiple choice, scale rating etc). Open ended questions tend to get much better results than from closed / multiple choice selections.

Haven't used this in a while but developer is very into it and has even optimized it for SP products I believe or at least made some adjustments.
