Monaco, the pioneering payments and cryptocurrency platform, today announced an expansion of its strategic cooperation with Binance, where Monaco’s MCO token was listed on August 23 this year. Under this partnership expansion, Monaco will include support for Binance’s BNB token to its platform which includes the Monaco Visa Card and Monaco mobile app. Binance will also add the MCO/BNB trading pair to its exchange on December 26. In addition, to celebrate the expansion of this partnership, Binance will host an MCO trading promotion that also begins on December 26. On Saturday Internet Archive, a non-profit digital library, announced that it received $1 mln in bitcoins from Pineapple Fund. Pineapple Fund is a Bitcoin-only charity established in early December 2017, whose ultimate goal is to give $86 mln worth of bitcoin to various nonprofit organizations. The charity has already given 657 BTC, about $8.5 mln, to 13 organizations, which focus on different areas, including providing clean water to sub-Saharan Africa, building technology for universal healthcare and improving the treatment of age-related diseases and others. The Bank of Israel is considering issuing digital currency in order to create a faster payments system as well as reducing the amount of cash in the economy, a central bank source said on Sunday. The source added that no decision had yet been made and the Bank of Israel declined to comment on the issue. The Israeli government has been seeking to limit the amount of cash in the economy for a few years since the black economy is estimated at some 22% of national output. Trend Micro Inc. , a Japanese multinational cyber security company founded in Los Angeles, published a report yesterday, stating that the company found a new cryptocurrency-mining bot spreading through Facebook Messenger. Digmine, as it was called, appears in the chat as not a built-in video file. When the user activates the file, the so-called video downloads components from a remote server to install the Chrome extension. Yesterday Blockchain Collaborative Consortium (BCCC) of Japan announced that it has been in collaborative talks with the Korean Blockchain Open Forum (KBOF) since November and the two groups signed a formal agreement during the Blockchain TechBiz Conference on December 19 in Seoul. Yesterday the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published a notice, stating that it was freezing stock trading for The Crypto Company, which is based in Malibu, California, and offers consulting and investment services around cryptocurrencies. Yesterday Coinbase, San Francisco-based bitcoin exchange, announced it would allow customers to buy, sell, send and receive Bitcoin Cash. However, BCH-USD trading was disabled after four minutes it had begun due to the significant volatility. According to Coinbase, it cancelled resting orders and cleared all BCH order books in order to ensure a fair and orderly market. On December 18 Kuwait’s Ministry of Finance said that it does not recognize bitcoin and forbids its trading in the Kuwaiti financial institutions.
