221  Economy / Gambling / Re: scripting primedice --- getting started on: June 13, 2016, 09:24:25 PM
I've beat my head on this one and can' figure it out. How do I get the last 30 bets and send it to a file?

I haven't used primedice in over a year so I don't know if there have been any API changes which may be getting in your way.

What did you try?  How far did you get? What errors did you see?
222  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dragon's Tale - a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG/Casino on: June 13, 2016, 05:47:51 PM
There's a new open tournament and i think for those who want to join its not late.
Here is the post from the op
Ok, the Tournament is launched. It's again a freeroll meaning that the cost to enter/play is well under the amounts of free Bitcoins that you can get for free in the game. (Dragon's Tale doesn't support zero-bets, so I just set the cost-to-play to be arbitrarily small, in this case 1000 SAT per game.)

I've broken it up into 3 tournaments, 8 hours apart, each with 350 BTM in prizes. Each will be 8 hours after the previous one, so that people in various time zones can participate.

The first will start at 8:00PM EDT (8.5 hours from now.), then the next one at 4:00AM EDT tomorrow, then the third one at Noon EDT tomorrow. You can participate in multiple tournaments, but may not play in one tournament with multiple characters.

Glad to answer any questions about Zhanlue. Wiki entry is here: http://www.dragons.tl/mediawiki-1.16.5/index.php/Zhanlue

Thanks, socks435, for the news, I may jump on and see what's up with this.  BTW, my account is still for sale.

EDIT: TCP mode seems down again, trying UDP.

It's definitely up for me.  Normally if there's downtime you'd seem some message from dooglus here about what he was doing.

Thanks. I've been staking for 24 hours and nothing. I thought it was every 8 hours

I think the stake rewards happen every minute (on the average).  I could be wrong.

IANAL, but, I heard that Dooglus lives in Canada. Wink

QS, How do you have time for so much BS?

Now that is a question that has been defying answer for several years now.

The consensus in this thread ...

Is basically that your mudslinging tactics have failed.  No matter how many threads you start with your army of alts, you actually have to have some sort of content for your accusations to actually stick.

QS is like an experiment in echo-chamber crowd manipulation.  He makes a huge fuss and builds a hype machine with his alts, and people get riled up, but when you actually look for something concrete in what he's saying ...

Lol. Necro from Beyond Uranus.

2 years+ & counting and OP was *still* sore & raw from having cluelessly lost money on an altcoin pump in 2013 ;]]

Seriously, I think BCX was doing some sort of necro-bump experiment today, I saw some other year old dead threads just resurrected by him.  I dunno why tho.

It is hard to get anyone to accept Paypal for crypto especially when you are a Newbie with no reputation.

You are better off buying Bitcoin using one of the well-established mechanisms and exchanging it for CLAMs.

I know I'm nobody. That's why I'm asking to do business with someone reputable in a sense.  Where else to go?  I'm looking to start a relationship as i am in this for the long haul.  If Doog were to sell me Clams with no problem, then I might gain street cred.  I hold Shadowcash that is doing well and I don't want to part with so I'm looking for other options.  I got in via Doge and have those too, which doubled within the last year.  My old Doge wallet started me out with 239 Clams.  I shit myself.  *Invested Staked*  When Clams went to .39 I triple downed.  No regrets.

Long time lurker.  I probably posted one drunk on the internets post here during the whale dig Homer Simpson like.

With luck someone here has faith in humanity and will experience a fair transaction with me.  (Doog?)

Shawn

Maybe I misunderstand you, but can't you buy CLAMs on an exchange like poloniex with all those DOGE you have?  As others have said, no one is going to sell to you with a reversible method unless you have a very strong reputation.
229  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dragon's Tale - a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG/Casino on: May 30, 2016, 10:24:50 PM
I think if you are already level 5 in this game you can get more bitcoins there because you can be a mentor and accept more newbie to teach or to guide them the more you have student that more you can earn.. and i heard that they can make 0.5 btc as a mentor in 1 week or one day..
I've heard that mentor system has been discontinued. yeah one can make .5 btc if your students wagers a lot. it's difficult to get students though, even if you managed to get some students there's huge chance that the next day they'll be someone else student lol.

The mentor system has not been discontinued.  However, it's not as easy as Bitcoinsummoner makes it sound to get and retain students.  There are people who are on there 24 hours a day looking for students so you only really have a chance if you can compete with that.  Beyond that, as you say, most students that show up aren't going to be big gamblers, they're just there to try to get free bitcoins and see what the place is about.  Clearly if you get a big gambler as your student, that's paydirt but it hasn't happened to me in 4 years playing there.

FWIW, I'm level 8 and I'd be willing to sell my account for the right price.
230  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: May 26, 2016, 07:34:33 PM
Right, and if you say "leaving trust" or "giving trust" it's really not clear whether you're trying to say that you left feedback or whether you added someone to your trust list.  In fact, I think when most people say "giving/leaving trust" the mean the former (feedback) when it sounds more like the latter (added to trust list).  Now mix this in with people asking how how the trust system works and you can hopefully see why it's confusing as hell.  Basically, call it what it is and things will be easier: leaving/giving feedback vs adding/removing from trust list.

I get your entire point, except how giving/leaving trust sounds more like the adding to the trust list? I think all people who say giving/leaving trust mean feedback, never came across the other one.

Edit: may be like this:
Giving trust to X -> I trust X -> by adding him to my trust list?
Leaving trust to X -> Huh Can't appear to mean anything other than leaving him a feedback..

I will try using feedback instead of trust. I knew trust wasn't the correct term to use, but I got stuck to it and didn't have any problems with that yet, so I just kept using it, just like I don't care about the grammar most of the times. Grin

Edit: If you ask me, newbies are like to use 'trust' than 'feedback'. Feedback can mean a lot of different things too. The link text reads Trust too, so it isn't really surprising that everyone new is like to use 'trust'.

Yes, and those same newbies are the ones posting in these threads saying "wait, how does this work?".

Same thing again.  I think maybe the message the the TCP server is "slower but more reliable" should be changed to "often doesn't work" or something to let people know that they should try the UDP server if the TCP server just keeps failing to connect.
How to connect it in udp instead of tcp i never saw this setting that you can change tcp into udp server.. or it needs 3rd party tool.?

It's in the drop-down box at the top of the dialog for the elaunch program.  But if you change it, you have to reselect dragons tale in the radio button, otherwise you'll get taken into a tale in the desert.
so If i change the connection from tcp into udp it can increase the speed of my game.. i am playing sometimes its lags and sometimes is not..
I will try this if i am on my laptop again.. thanks for your tips..

Perhaps, I don't know if it will actually increase the speed.  About a month or two ago I noticed that the TCP server just plain fails to get the login page completely, Teppy said above to try the UDP server and it worked.

234  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: May 26, 2016, 06:14:25 PM
I don't see the confusion. Giving trust always means giving trust feedback just shorter to type than giving feedback. What else can it mean?

It's not possible to give "trust feedback".  It is only possible to give feedback.  You have no control over whether that feedback is trusted or not.

Oh I see. The confusion is between "trust feedback" and "trusted feedback".

I am using trust feedback to mean feedback in the trust system - regardless of whether it is trusted or not. Something like in say Marketplace Trust Feedback.

The person giving feedback can choose whether to give positive feedback or negative feedback.

Or neutral Grin

Luckily I got my free clams from an old wallet a friend gave me. Went all in and won. Now investing it.

Congrats!  How much did you win, btw?

Is there a direct URL that explains what a clam is?, I seen it around but don't quite understand it?

236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: transaction speed of Bitcoin as users increase on: May 24, 2016, 10:26:19 PM
What AgentofCoin said is correct, as far as I know.  But I think it's crucial to emphasize that a lot of the predicted problems, are just that, predicted problems.  If there were actually 1 billion people about to use bitcoin, we'd know that because currently there'd be a steady increase towards that 1 billion.  Therefore, it makes sense just to take things slowly and figure out actual solutions to the long term problems by careful planning now.  No need to act like the house is on fire, it's not.  Things are good, we can plan for a strong future by taking this time to think hard and build consensus and community.
237  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: May 24, 2016, 07:28:10 PM

That is right. Smiley

If you go to my profile you'd (or someone with Default Trust list) see 60: -0 / +7 but what I see is 76: -0 / +9 because my list is different.

Also if you give a negative trust to anyone, his trust score will go down (red, if it was near 0), because you trust yourself. But no one else will see a change.
Anyone who has added you to their trust list will see the change.  Also, let's not call it "giving trust", it's already too confusing.  Call feedback 'feedback'.  Call putting someone on your trust list 'putting someone on your trust list'.  This is what the interface calls it.  If we are consistent in this, it may help these kinds of questions come up less often.  I swear that half the confusion on this topic is because there's a trust list, a trust score, and when people give feedback they start calling that trust too.

239  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: May 23, 2016, 05:57:23 PM
1) Thanks I get that distinction now, so to clarify if someone leaves me trust then most people in default trust would see it as even if they do not have default trust themselves in the their trust list, then unless they ~member or ~default trust then as default trust will occur somewhere within depth 1-2 of their trust list then they would likely see that +1 trusted feedback on my Trust score?

2) Trust  1: -0 / +1
Does everyone on the forum see this first accumulative number (i.e 1:) or do the same rules apply as to the 3rd number?
ii) If it is not the same what are the viewing rules for this first trust score number?

Thanks for anyones input.

I'm not sure if you're really still unclear or if you're just trying to keep that post-count rising ...

If someone leaves you feedback (calling it trust is confusing), then that feedback will be visible as trusted feedback to people who have the person who left you the feedback in their trust lists.  This is the essence of the system, you have a trust list, you trust the feedback of people on your list.  It's a pretty simple concept.  You can edit your list as you please, so can everyone else.  Many people don't edit their lists, these people all see the same thing.

Same rules on (2), trusted feedback gets used to calculate those numbers.  Which feedback is trusted depends on your trust list.

If you have 1000 clamp would just stake them or keep them on just dice site?

If I had 1000 clamps, I would sell most of them, but keep a few to help me with carpentry projects.  Now, if I had 1000 CLAMS, I think what I would do with them would depend on how I got them.  Sudden gift, or recently dug: I'd probably sell half and stake half.  If I just bought them, I'd probably stake for a while and hope the price climbs a bit too.
