Math result at the end 3 - 3

Like newcastl manchester utd

If the math is done, then I guess we don't need to keep trying to calculate anything.  Wink

Was that supposed to have a 13182 in it somewhere?

20:15 definitely is not the successor of 13181 in my counting system!

6  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: June 15, 2015, 03:41:51 PM
It does actually count non-qualified posts on the bot as I just checked but it probably wont pay for them when it checks at the end of that users week.

Isn't this what was explained by bitmixer.io just a few posts back?  The bot doesn't validate your posts till the end of the week because it doesn't want to use extra bandwidth.
7  Other / Meta / Re: TIL Activity does not work on precisely 2 week intervals + interval timings on: June 09, 2015, 04:16:54 AM
However,  in general you should just ignore your activity because the only time it matters is to make you standout from a lookalike username that may be scamming, which should happen naturally or to meet a quota for signature spamming (coincidentally the "confused" users here are participating in signature campaigns)

There are a few other benefits, like reduced time between pms and posting.  Those can be useful.  But you're right that once you get out of the very junior levels it doesn't matter very much.

Ironically, air conditioning could be the thing fueling future global warming
This is some irony.  What's more, it seems like it sets up a feedback loop, more global warming means more need for ac, which means ...

10  Economy / Services / Re: DA DICE Signature Campaign - 'Da' BEST Yet | HIGHEST RATES! | JOIN THE FUN! on: April 14, 2015, 07:16:39 AM
FYI, I'm withdrawing from the campaign.  I've just been too busy lately to be very active on the forum and so I think I should allow someone else to have my spot if they want it.

I've removed the sig.

Thanks guys, 'preciate your work.

EDIT:  If, for any chance, dadice is interested in having me keep the sig (but with no minimum posts) then perhaps PM me or something.  I obviously wouldn't require a lot of money for this, however, I *do* have nearly 1000 posts on the board (a lot of them in very common threads) so there may be some value to dadice in having me leave my signature.  Just let me know if there's interest here.

There is actually no minimum posts for the campaign currently, although the instructions is that it is waived for quality poster, and if you were to post 1 post for the whole week you will still be pay as long as it is a quality post, as for now, the spot for the Sr. Member is decreasing, this might be a chance for another person to acquire your spot

I confirm.
Quality posts will be counted even if it is less than 20.

I haven't removed it yet. Please add the signature back in a few hours if you want to continue.

Thanks Smiley
i think he is looking for payment without having to post. Similar to how bitmixer used to work.

Well. If that is the case, then I won't be able to help..

I think the better way to put it would be that I'm offering my approx 1000 previous posts for some minimal amount of payment.  I understand completely if you're not interested.  I guess it's just that for me, I'm not having a lot of time these days to read the forums and so I figured I may as well remove the advert and have less clutter on the boards (unless you want to pay me something to leave it up Smiley).

12  Other / Meta / Re: how to permanently delete a banned account? on: April 07, 2015, 02:12:27 PM
-snip-
On my other question about nuking an account I guess I just realized that it must be possible to "self-nuke" in this way before randomizing your login.  I dunno why that didn't occur to me above.  I guess I withdrawl my question.

Its certainly possible to nuke an account, but Staff does not do it on request. I dont know why, but I can think of several reasons. E.g. someone that gained access to the account could request a nuke etc.

The way I do it for SAD (someone else linked it above) is that I start with the oldest posts and delete every post by hand. I also read each post to make sure (as beast as possible) that said post is not related to any scams and can safely be deleted. Everyone can - of course - just do this themselves, its just tedious and take a very long time. ~100 posts per hour is a reasonable speed.

If I were going to do this myself I'd just make a script.  As you say, sounds very tedious to do this by hand.  Then again you're reading each one.  I'm surprised you don't charge more for this.  Then again, I'm surprised that people feel the need to do this at all.  LOL!
13  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: April 07, 2015, 02:08:27 PM
I oughta stake mine but I think I'm gonna switch to a vanity address and then stake it here.  I just want to post this now so that (1) I remember to do this and (2) ppl don't think I look fishy if I chang my address and then stake it.

If you're ever asked about the banking system please mention that you're not using the U.S. Dollar, but fiat currency technology. It's definitely the next big thing.

Re: IBM and other companies using "blockchain technology"

Ha, I get it.

BTW, I love your username.  CGI permissions!
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving on: April 07, 2015, 02:00:40 PM
With Bitcoin halving soon does that mean the price of Bitcoin has to double or is mining just going to stop. Another thought is mining is going to get more efficient. What are some of your thoughts on this matter?

Halving the incoming supply of new coins will have a modest beneficial impact on the price (everyone remember Econ 101 and the Law of Supply and Demand?)

I don't think it will have a sudden impact, since the halvening is a public event everyone can anticipate. And I don't think the impact will be huge, because the current supply of 3600 coins/day is dwarfed by the amount of bitcoin traded every day (50-100 times that?). Still, over time the tighter supply of fresh coins should pull prices in an upwards direction. Bitcoin money supply is currently growing at about 10% annually, making it inflationary in the near term. Cutting that figure to less than 5% will put it into a much more stable rate of growth. And after the next halvening after that it will be growing slower than most well-managed fiat currencies (if there is such a thing), AFAIK.

I agree here completely.  With less btc generated per day, my coins I'm hodling will become more valuable.  More valuable coins gives miners and incentive to stay in the game.  However, I'll also add that our curent network hashrates are super sky high.  I'm sure many miners could drop out and we'd still have a safe network.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: any reasonable sha256 altcoins on: April 07, 2015, 01:52:25 PM
I normally hate the altcoin world but my old miner just isn't worth much on the bitcoin network.  What might I mine that has a reasonable trade in value for bitcoin.  Ideally I can use poloniex to trade or some other respected exchange.  I don't want to hodl the altcoin, just mine it and sell.

The problem is that there is so much available hashrate that the profitablity of SHA256 coins hardly goes over that of BTC.
I have a batch of obsolete miners that I've been keeping ready for a nice run on an altcoin but problem is that unless you mine and hold and hope for an upgoing trend of the coin there's not much money to be made.

I think that makes a lot of sense.  I don't usually keep up with the altcoin world so I suppose that even if such a run happens, I'll prolly be the last to know about it Sad

hi there .. therer is no such way to delete your banned account . you just change your password randomly like `` 123434gfgsdfk `` this kind and forget it dont save it you will not access your account hence its deleted for you . !

Awesome example of how to not pick something random.  (use something like this for your brainwallet and watch your bitcoins get stolen instantly!)

no prob!!!
i mentioned above,
i will use a randon GUID,
if i decide for this way.
somethings like this:

I don't trust your js code.
It's non human readable.

Share original source code.

Uh, there's no such thing as compiled javascript (I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong), so I have to wonder what the hell you're talking about here.

I feel like we are treading on thin ice here. Our forum is so unique and we created system of direct advertising method that is unprecedented and  truly "sui generis". Yet you want to destroy that system by creating tools and methods which will disable signatures permanently? Potentially it can bring an end to all signature campaigns.

The forum isn't about advertising, its about discussion. Businesses that advertise in people's signatures have the same right to be here and the same right to be kicked out if they are disruptive. If individuals want to opt out of seeing advertisements they are more than welcome to, and if that brings down paid advertising signatures, then so be it.

But I agree, great job grue.

Indeed, I appreciate the approach here, people taking control to limit what they want to see, obviously this is a win.  If advertizers annoy, they should be punished by people ignoring them.  That will teach them to annoy less.  Ie, be less distracting.

Wil I be shot for irony if I try this script myself?
20  Other / Meta / Re: how to permanently delete a banned account? on: April 07, 2015, 05:52:01 AM
Autoban is permanent, unless manually removed/modified. Nuke bans and removes all of a user's posts (spambots usually).  Manually applied bans won't show up in the modlog, those are usually temporary, but not always.

Given the fact that it's possible to "nuke" a spambot account, ie delete all posts, why isn't this possible for normal users?  I've seen other users asking about deleting an account and the only reply is "we don't do that, change your passwd to something random and go drinking".
