Supposedly... the judge allowed Blockfi employees to take their full pay and bonuses? Huh
2  Economy / Service Discussion / BlockFi Loan Advocates on: February 22, 2023, 06:26:17 PM

https://old.reddit.com/r/BlockfiLoanAdvocates/

The BlockfiLendingAdvocates group is the rapidly growing Reddit community (now more than 143 members strong) raising awareness of the legal rights of the Blockfi Loan Holders for a favorable ruling for the return of their collateral. This open, free-to-participate group shares valuable information on bankruptcy proceedings on loan collateral, answers each others questions, and discusses strategy and best options for a favorable outcome.

A subset of this group (Ad-Hoc Committee of Blockfi Loan Holders) is funding to retain an experienced bankruptcy attorney for legal representation to make the fight on our behalf for a favorable ruling direct with the bankruptcy judge, the UCC, and Blockfi. This subgroup regularly interfaces directly with our counsel to receive legal advice, discuss legal options and strategies, answers open questions, and receives first hand updates on proceedings. Our legal counsel is only allowed to provide legal advice direct to this paying group, but the advice he will give should be generally applicable to most, if not all, group members.

Note that we are all in the same boat. Some people may have more collateral on the line, but the Ad-Hoc Committee aims to act in the best interests of everyone.

Over the next few days, we will review a draft engagement letter and hopefully, begin truly engaging with legal counsel to get more information about how the Court currently views loan-holders, and what we can do, if anything, to optimize the outcome for Loan Holders.

I used '0' so that must have been why it didn't work.

Thanks!

A little more research and I found a solution:

From console:

wallet.storage.put('gap_limit', 100)

wallet.gap_limit_for_change = 100

All of my change addresses showed up (in red, but I could access the private keys to sweep them).

Thanks for your response...

I've got a watch-only wallet which shows me the addresses with coins on Windows so I know which ones I need to sweep.  (I took a photograph with an old camera to record those).

Then I'm going offline, on Linux, generating my wallet from seed.

First thing I did was increase the gap limit to 200 and that does not add new change addresses to my address list, only regular addresses.  Offline, there is no record of usage or coins at each address, of course.

As I posted, I've also used create_new_address, but it's yet to create those few change addresses I need.  I generated about 200 already and am searching for the address with a text editor.

Sorry to confuse, I meant to ask, in the second question, why I couldn't type a public address from within the console to getprivatekeys().  Does Electrum really need to 'generate' them to see if they're mine and that I have authority to see the private key?

Thanks again for your help...

Sorry to respond to my own question, but why can't I type in a public address and get the privkey?  Shouldn't I cryptographically verify it?
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Need Specific Change Addresses to Move BCash Coins from Offline Wallet on: August 10, 2017, 06:56:25 AM
I've been trying to generate specific change addresses that I see in my watch-only offline wallet so that I can sweep their private keys to get my BCC tokens.

I've tried create_new_address (with a 200 for loop) and I've yet to generate this address.  I've tried typing in the public address and it seems to not recognize it.

Any help would be appreciated!

8  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Critical Old Wallet Issue - Just Lost All of My Labels on: February 16, 2017, 10:14:15 AM
Actually, I'm almost certain that that's what happened now.  (That it likely chose the default_wallet.dat file from the Roaming directory when it was, this morning, in the Program Files/Electrum directory.)

This morning, I ran my usual bash script:

cd /cygdrive/c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Electrum/
./electrum & ./electrum -w seedless-orig.dat

Until I'd installed 2.7.18, this would load a default_wallet.dat hot wallet from the Program Files/Electrum directory and my cold storage wallet from that same directory.

Both of those files disappeared this morning from that directory.  There are now no longer any wallet files in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electrum

So, Electrum actually deleted two wallet files of mine, this morning.  I saw them after the installation in the folder when I started searching.  One minute they were there, the next they were gone.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, I just did a search over my hard drive for 'seedless-orig.dat'.  That was one of the wallets tha I claimed was deleted.  It now seems like it was moved to a series, or what looks like 9 locations, similar to this:

C:\Users\btcbot\AppData\Local\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Electrum

I found 9 copies, modified from the last time I opened it.  I don't know if these are just Windows soft-links or what.

A similar search over my hard drive for 'default_wallet.dat' produced nothing.
9  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Critical Old Wallet Issue - Just Lost All of My Labels on: February 16, 2017, 09:57:33 AM
That's strange, because those two wallets, default_wallet.deterministic and default_wallet.imported were both ancient, from 2013 and long-discarded.  Modified today, though... maybe the wallet splitting process took the wrong default_wallet to split?

Btw... I just found a few more wallets, modified today, in this folder, which seems weird:

C:\Users\btcbot\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Electrum

VirtualStore?

That folder now has only the un-labeled newly restored from seed wallets, as it goes to a folder that is a work folder I never set, but made backups to.

Just to add to the confusion, is it possible that a few failed seed-recovery attempts (while looking for the right hot wallet seed that I'd saved) might have caused the over-writes of the wallets?

In other words, when I couldn't find the 'new' hot wallets I made a few attempts to restore from seed.  At no point, though was I given a 'file exists' warning.

In the Windows Roaming directory with the wallets I've found I found a 'default_wallet.deterministic' and a 'default_wallet.imported.'

That was probably that split wallet before one of my seed attempts over-wrote them?
11  Bitcoin / Electrum / Critical Old Wallet Issue - Just Lost All of My Labels on: February 16, 2017, 08:12:22 AM
I finally installed an updated Electrum after using 2.5.4 for the past year or so and my hot wallet, with all of my labels to transactions has been lost.  I restored it fine - but the process for losing it was truly scary and a mess.

When I attempted to load my old hot wallet I got a message saying something about unsupported multiple identity wallets? (which I had no idea my hot wallet was) and that it would now 'Save' it to a couple of wallets with the locations of the new files.  I said OK, assuming idiotically that I'd be able to find them in the default wallet location folder.

I have no idea what happened.  I've looked for them in the AppData/Roaming/Electrum/wallets folder.  I run searches on today's modified *.dat files and now I'm just at a loss.  Where are they?

I recovered the wallet through the seed, but I really need my labels for my taxes.

I'm an old progger.  And I feel that this was a mess.  I don't care what your program is supposed to do, but user data is sacrosanct.  It seems that 'default_wallet' gets over-written under certain circumstances?

Sorry to rant, but I'd appreciate any help in finding my old wallets and where 2.7.18 put them.

Mine, too... would be nice if it didn't happen again, too!  I've been using Electrum for almost 3 years now and this is the first this has happened.
14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet does not start? on: December 03, 2015, 02:00:21 PM
And the 2.5.4 installer craps out in the same way...  (Currently running 2.5.2.)

And it's unkillable from the TaskMgr with the same 116KB size.

I also just tried to install the sources, and the PyQT installer craps out in the same unkillable way with a 116KB proc memory size.

I now have:

2 2.5.4 installers running...
2 PYQt installers...
4 Electrum 2.5.2 instances...

15  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet does not start? on: December 03, 2015, 01:44:59 PM

I was also thinking that it was a server problem, somewhere.

I am just using Bitcoins for around 3 weeks, so I kinda became in a state of panic Smiley

Thanx for your answer btcbot

No problem...  as long as you have your seed (12 or 13 words), there's never really a problem with Electrum.

16  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet does not start? on: December 03, 2015, 11:27:14 AM
Got the same problem here... same platform.  We'll get it sorted out.  I suspect it's a server issue and the failure is novel enough not to show an appropriate dialog.  The fact that I can't kill the proc may mean that it's in some kind of endless loop.

Got an email from Havelock with promise to pay more since they have found more btc.  Great news!

I got no such email, although I was invested and I got info about first payment. Maybe you misunderstood something Smiley Can you elaborate on those ''Great news!" Huh

Unbelievable!! I just received first "dividend" from AMHASHCL right to my havelock account (0.00006000BTC/unit) This is the first time I was compensated ever - I was scammed by minershare.net/pbmining.com/hashie.co... so I wasn't expecting that this liquidation fund is real. I feel so stupid now that I believed in cloud mining in general but at same time somehow happy that I didn't recommend this form of mining to my friends/family - I was aware of the risk. I didn't expect that more than half of Bitcoins I ever mined myself will be gone forever though. I'm smarter now - we learn by mistake. Do you guys still believe that some of current cloud mining services will be here 1-2 years from now and won't be "replaced" by new ponzis? Just curious..

I think Hashnest will definitely be there, or there be none... Bit-x looks promising too, they are number two on the list that be here in 1-2 years Wink

Just hope to get this email today:

The swap from AMHASH to AMHASHCL was closed at 24:00, Feb 20 (Havelock Time).

Payment Schedule: The total payment to units of AMHashLC will be split into 5 equal installments. The first payment will be provided today. The combined total will be paid out before May 5.

AMHASH contract holders can still request swapping until April 30. However we will postpone the manual processing to May 1.

We will increase the payout for AMHashLC by 50% due to the unexpected payment from Friedcat.

Thank you for investing with Havelock Investments!

Bitmain

20 mins ago, we received a very important intelligence and we decide to increase the price of S5 by 20%. A certain competitor which we pay attention has not submit any mass production order to its wafer supplier. Only a small batch of pilot run has been submitted before the Chinese New Year. It has confirmed a long but uncertain guess that the aggressiveness get in trouble. The best time for mining bitcoin comes right now.

Rockminer's latest about Friedcat and the missing miners - big picture - FC is missing.

http://8btc.com/thread-14527-1-1.html

Google Translate:

AMHash is RockMiner and AsicMiner cooperation projects, RM equivalent of AM's underwriters, the force responsible for the operator to sell, as well as the construction and improvement AMHash platform, responsible for depositing after dividends, to answer customer questions. Because at that time had no money RM production machines, began to take an asset-light line, specialized in sales and service, just roast cat also sell power demand cloud count, so this project started. About AMHash things, the current best solution is still the cat appeared, such as grilled deal with the matter. The company now Dumen AM through legal channels or the like on the basic does not make sense, if effective, we would have done. The key is to find the most grilled cat on dividends up to any aggressive behavior irrational have no significance.

After problems with mine, we do not timely disclosure, there is a reason. AM and mine was still in negotiations, and also mass production machine, grilled cat in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, said soon deploy a new force calculation, these three points will soon make up more p. That is equivalent to the time it is just a small thing, on which the AM will fill the vacancy losses, dividends, and has no effect, because the dividend is 100PPS, as long as there is money there is no problem points, the public announcement, but also bring some unnecessary trouble.

The dividend was set aside money in our hands, probably only to about January 10, all others have been paid to AM, these are payment records. We never thought that the link between grilled cat suddenly not on, while other companies were AM but no matter what happens, even Williams told me that he did not hand access to the company's purse, wallet in hand roasted cat all have to wait roast cat.

Many people are very anxious, always ask AM is not running, say mine is also dismissed. I want to say is how to run on foot? AMHash the AM for a lot of money is not, we had the budget support to the end of the contract, I guess we just can not 2500btc, who for this foot? He walked the long run, will not wait until now. Did not even have a family? They also reported the matter at home, but also can not contact him, we are now concerned about his personal safety.

AM removed a test mine, in order to save money, after a month, but also tens of thousands of mines spending, and now there is no demand, naturally dismissed.

The key problem is that there is anything specific roast cat go, and I do not know, an estimated 60 percent come from private business, 40% of it is official pressure, specifically to wait for him to come back before we know.

All problems and other baked cat needs arise, because the hands of other people now have no money.

We also communicate with people and AM, including directors abroad, we discuss solutions, please be patient, and so on.
