What's a +*?    Never seen it before.  6.1 windows 10

a kiss for our dev Smiley
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Funakoshi Cuda miner is fast and clean from viruses (windows, ubuntu, fedora) on: June 08, 2018, 07:51:22 PM
hi,well i'm getting a bit higher I/s (around 405 on 'stock' 1080ti gigabyte factory watercooled, dstm around 399),but comparing to dstm, there is significantly more bus traffic(bus interface load around 43%,dstm around 1%),i'm single-card miner,so for me it is not an issue, but i'm not sure if this might be problem on slower cpus/more cards, also whole pc draws a little more (dstm around 280-290w,funakoshi around 290-300w,as precise as corsair link power supply can report it)

also coil whine is different, quieter(that i kinda like, because of less stress on caps i guess:) )

if i may a little suggestion, console colours? Smiley

anyways,i'm gonna play with it for a while, thanks

k.

Just a few quick questions...  so when, "server sets difficulty",.. is it set and locked?.. because when I up the settings on my cards while running in afterburner,.. I would expect my sol/s to go up.. but they stay the same.
Maybe I should launch cards with higher settings (in afterburner) to get a better difficulty rate?
Should I not change card settings after launching bat file?
Also, if I change afterburner settings while running,. does it stay on the same pool?.. Or is it better to restart miner to reconnect.. where it looks like it does the "server sets difficulty" again.

thx all

i mine on coinfoundry and server sets difficulty dynamically, after each ~3-10 lines in dstm for me on 1080ti,it's probably regulating depending on my mining luck (your results will vary depending on hash power i guess)

Hello DSTM,

I don't mind paying 2% dev fee, however, I noticed the v0.6 is currently submitting more dev shares than it should. could you explain in detail how actually are you calculating it? well in a very simple calculation 2% could be 2 shares in 100 accepted shares? isn't it that simple?  Huh

Would appreciate your quick reply.

Thanks,

i believe the only way to do this is to dedicate 2% of time, but he probably needs lower difficulty so he gets some shares on the limited time(because only shares count on pool,so this may look like he mines more for himself),but that's just a guess

I run 8 x 1070 in one rig, 6 x 1080Ti in one rig and 5 x 1080Ti in one rig. they all run together in their own rig build. I mean, I run zm batch to work 8x1070 together and others respectably in their own.

while running, the target difficulty is set by the server (any chance to achieve static difficulty through miner?). the target difficulty is somehow too high for the 1080Tis which in return I get only 7,5 - 10 shares per minute in average; that being said I get zero returns on payment on some blocks randomly.

but with the 1070s, even though they are %60 solutions capable against 1080Tis, I have around 60 shares per minute in average.

you can say that the size of the share 1080Tis get is larger than 1070, I agree, but it is like more than 6 times the share I get with 1080Tis. so considering the solution power of two, 6 times is much bigger than %60 solution power in between these two.

I've tried this while mining BTCG in suprnova and MPH. I think this is because the target difficulty setting.

Honestly, I think you'll need to wait for a payout to see if you can see the earnings differences - looking at hash or share rate alone (particularly at the pool level!) to compare completely different rigs isn't going to be accurate. Earnings per rig is pretty much the only way to determine anything.

That said, if you're looking to have the same target difficulty across all your rigs, you might try running a mining proxy. Makes things slightly more efficient networking wise as well. I have recently created one that works with equihash (and other algos/coins) called aiostratum-proxy (see my signature as well).

thanks for your interest.

I speak of share numbers alone just to indicate the problem easier. other than that, I do check the earnings. for example in transaction history, 1080Tis get way low earnings despite their hash power. many shares in chunks surpasses low share numbers in larger -so to speak- amounts. that's why I ask about static target difficulty.

I will check your post, thank you.

just a suggestion to check,is there some stability problem you might miss?there should be comparable difference hash-power to payout, unless that miner is really unlucky(low number of shares because of really bad luck)...but give it few days and it should stabilise (also pplns vs other payout methods, don't switch pools)...so,check log if there are no restarts/reconnects or some gpu slowing down

Hi,

Can someone please explain how the telemetry thingy works?
Lets says I added  --telemetry=127.0.0.1:4444, how do I 'listen' from another computer (particularly over the web and not in the local network)?

Thanks Smiley

just change the 127.xxxx to the local network IP of your miner... like 192.168.x.x
better yet use 0.0.0.0 because people asking this don't know how to set static ip in dhcp server, this will use any available ip on computer

this will allow you to use it on local lan,if you want over the internet,go educate yourself for example here: https://portforward.com/ how to forward port on your external ip to internal ip:port of your miner (also check firewall,be it windows or some linux iptables)

(i also suggest to make the lease static on your router so you don't need to change it usually after power loss)

xpulse:why do you use intensity 1?its the default, there is no turboboost or rocket fuel,it will not go faster, intensity is used to limit power, not add,why on earth would you limit dedicated computer(like smos)?

This is a very strange issue, in Windows 10, the 0.6 miner is stable but once you randomly click inside the cmd window, it will just freeze (as in not outputting any new lines), the GPUs clocks are reduced to around 1500MHz (my cards are 1080Tis). I have to close the window and start the miner again. I can reproduce the issue at any time and happens in all of my rigs, so the issue must be not in my system.

Not sure why this is happening, it is not a critical issue but dstm you might want to look at it.

disable quickedit mode in cmd

try gpuz, what it says in perfcap reason...

Can't believe how many ungrateful persons are there. Man made a free miner (with a fee, but it's free) and you are complaining like he owns you something.
No miner is perfect when it comes out, those things always need testing and polishing. I don't doubt that CPU usage will be fixed in some of the next versions.
Good job dev.
yeah,i'm going to have some food now...with fee,but it's free Smiley

about the usage,my watercooling is up by at least 1.5 degree C (from 37 to 38.5),but i think it's better utilization,so can't argue there,sol/s seems the same, but its from flypool stats
for now,i think it does not matter whether you use dstm or bminer, but it's nice to try something new, thanks to the dev for new toy Smiley

just a hint for users having problem starting-you're not using notepad probably, use notepad and replace lf with cr/lf manually,or convert in npp edit/eol conversion
or use your cmd/shortcut
edit:this is for case where the miner does not output to console at all

and question/warning,there seems to be some autoupdate,or at least version checking, that might be dangerous, seems to be for firmware.bin, check is output to console only if the file is missing,so i'm guessing some low level instructions for quicker update without miner update maybe?might be a problem for advanced firewall users/farms with proxy

aaaand edit2:,on 1080ti a wee bit oc(gigabyte stock water),same settings,dstm 430 i/s,bminer 440 nonce/s (i think this has the same meaning)
