1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer X3 -- 220KH+ Cryponight - 550W on: March 16, 2018, 05:22:58 PM
If Bitmain did not offer refund, they risked legal action from buyers on every continent.
Very doubtful as I don't think the Chinese legal system would be very favorable to lawsuits from(as an example) US based attorneys and AFAIK they don't have a presence in the US to be able to sue them in the US court system. Worst they would get is bad publicity from all the buyers they shafted and bad PR IMHO. Only ones who would benefit are the attorneys who get payed no matter what lol.
2  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer D3 with 1 bad board doing ~ 13GH $300 shipped CONUS on: March 14, 2018, 03:02:48 AM
Just curious what is the power usage like at 13GH? I'm guessing it's a 19.3GH model correct? Prices have indeed dropped quite a bit on these as unless you have free power or need the heat at 10 cents/KWhr there's basically no longer any profitability unfortunately. Plus Bitmain is about to start shipping a new batch next week which means most likely a diff increase soon.

Thanks!  Smiley
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin price tanking down? There seems to be no respite in the pricing? on: March 09, 2018, 12:12:18 AM
Any idea when should one start investing more and when can we see an upward spike?

Pretty much everyone is wondering this and it's a very difficult question since there's nothing much to base what the bottom will be like an oversold RSI indicator for a stock before the recovery(If there is one), so it's pretty much anyone's guess.

About a month ago it was down to almost 7k before rising again, so that might be a good place to make a speculative investment, but I've never been great with catching the falling knife  Undecided
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach $ 29,000 on: March 09, 2018, 12:01:17 AM
The forecast for the end of the year that Bitcoin will reach $ 29,000, and Ethereum's capitalization will triple. The Finder site conducted a study based on the growth of 12 digital currencies and the comparison of 9 participants in the industry's blockbuster. According to their forecast, the growth of ETH will be 212%, BTC - 194%, and the third place Bitcoin Cash with 123%.
Kevin Lou, co-founder and strategy director for the Hong Kong company CryptAM, said that Ethereum has very good growth prospects, but at the moment the network needs to solve the problem of scaling. CryptoKitties, a game with digital kittens that allows you to acquire and breed crypto pets - something that hinders the development of the ETH network. In the near future this issue will be resolved.

Link to an article with any type of evidence or research to support such a claim?
5  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: BITMAIN Antminer V9 on: March 08, 2018, 11:05:48 PM
I need to get my hands on one of these so I can take it apart but I certainly don't need five which is the minimum order.

State your commitment and vote for a preferred escrow manager. Am I missing anything?

Not sure if you're still looking for one, but they're being sold for $399 each shipped in this thread:

6  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Antminer S1 and 1200 watt switching power supply on: March 07, 2018, 05:43:23 AM
I have a used antminer S1 and a switching power supply that can actually power 2 or these s1's at once that I would like to get rid of. I am willing to let it go for cheap to a new home in hopes that someone else might use it. I will take $50 for both. I will post pics once I figure out how and most major crypto's will be accepted. If you're looking to get into mining and want something cheap to play around with first so you know you're able to get it going, this could make a decent purchase. That is what I bought it for and now, I'm ready to give it up. Thanks for looking and have a nice day.

What type of power supply is it an HP or some type of 1200W sever PSU? Also is US domestic shipping included in that price or how much would it be?

Thx!
7  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 D3's on: March 06, 2018, 02:54:11 PM
have had them running in my office server room downclocked at 14-15gh but due to design changes in the room I no longer have the means to run them.

they've been sitting powered off for a couple weeks now so I'd like to just get rid of them

I've been out of the loop on pricing of any hardware recently so shoot me some offers, escrow with phil or ognasty preferred and I am located in Portland Oregon

Are these 19.3GH units that have been downclocked? What's the power usage like at current speeds?
8  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTF Avalon 821 - AVAILABLE UN 2/3 WEEKS on: March 06, 2018, 02:49:24 PM

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problem with antminer A3 mining BCX on: February 10, 2018, 06:02:28 PM
Hi, guys
BCX support blake2b,so I want mining bcx with A3,although bcx team say it can't mining with A3,but I think A3 use blake2b so it must be mining BCX and maybe I do some wrong or I need to hack A3?
below is the A3 log:

Isn't BCX(BitcoinX?) Scrypt?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFL Monarch space heater on: January 29, 2018, 07:07:31 PM
Cakeonit, Love your narrative. Know exactly what you went through.

Was the power supply the only change to get it staying on? I'm having the same problem with a 700 and just like with you crickets for answers.   I'll try it.

Kuschelweich, do you only fix the cooling system?  Feel free to pm me
I've never actually had one and don't really know much about the cooling system. Just figured it might be fun to try and fix one if it's cheap enough. I was going to purchase some "working" ones when the profitability was better, but seeing how many have cooling system issues I'm thinking it might not be worth the risk.
11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BFL Monarch space heater on: January 29, 2018, 03:52:43 PM
So just an update on my BFL space heater.  I mined with it for a few months just to keep my feet warm under the desk.  After that few months, the horrible thing ended up springing a nice leak of the integrated cooling fluid, and try as I might, I can not figure out how to get it sealed.  So now, it is just a nice relic to look at.  Thats all folks.  Scrap.  I may sell it on ebay as parts, but it would be more to ship than it is worth or parts.  The lesson- do not attempt to use a liquid cooled miner for heat.  This miner was and always will be absolute rubbish.

I may be interested in trying to repair it where did it spring a leak exactly? Tried to send a pm about the shipping cost but it looks like you'd have to message me first.

Thx  Smiley
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking BFL Monarchs and servicing them while times are weird. on: January 21, 2018, 06:11:35 PM
Don't open the loop unless you have a spare heat sink set (some guy is selling them on Ebay for $20 each, if your Monarch had a leak in the cooling system that's a nice fix). Those things run the chips quite warm (60c) and any disruption in cooling will blow the chips since it is *very* thin (which really helps with heat dissipation).

Use the V3X and FBX values to slow it down, remember the second digit is hexidecimal but voltages above 4 are locked out) and have fun with it.

do we put the V3X and FBX in the .conf file? Trying to find the syntax, but struggling to find the answer.

BFL had a underclocking manual for these, it's somewhat brief but does explain this a bit. I'll see if I can post the manual here, but here's some excerpts from it:

Passing commands:
Code:
bfgminer  <network & hashing related parameters…> --set bfl:_cmd1=F0D --set bfl:_cmd1=V5X

Setting Frequency:
To set the regular frequency, command: ‘F’,’<INDEX>’,’X’ can be used.  This sets the frequency index in regular mode (the slower mode). To operate in the fast 2x mode, ‘F’<INDEX>’D’ must be used.
For example, to set the frequency to index 3 in regular mode, ‘F3X’ must be submitted. To set the frequency index to 1 at 2x mode, ‘F1D’ should be used. Once either command is issued, the on-board controller recalibrates all the engines on the board to decommission the ones that can’t operate with the new frequency setting. It is HIGHLY recommended to set the core-voltage to proper value before changing the frequency.
Since the on-board ASICs use Ring-Oscillators, frequency index cannot be accurately mapped to any number (variance could be as high as 40%). Temperature and core voltage will affect the frequency as well.

13  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL Monarchs 500gh-700gh (thousands of them) on: January 17, 2018, 09:31:54 PM
I received one box yesterday and one today. The first 3 were packed well and are in good condition. They hash just fine. I haven't opened the second box but I anticipate the same.

Good price for these even if they are inefficient. Good seller and I would buy from graymatter again.

I used the BFL BFGMiner variant here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=759398.0

Were all 3 500gh or did you get some 700gh as well? Do they have 2 pcie power plugs or 3? The older ones have 2 I think.

Was seriously thinking about order a pack of these, but I'm kinda glad I didn't yet as the profitability took a huge nose dive down to like 15 cents a day  lol.
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking BFL Monarchs and servicing them while times are weird. on: January 01, 2018, 04:05:53 PM
Have been reading the official underclocking documentation on these, but it's fairly sparse about what you can actually expect to get from the huge range of frequency settings available. Basically I'd be interested in finding the absolute best W/GH these can produce.

One thing that I can't find any more information about is the 2x Mode mentioned in the manual other than that it's only available with voltage indexes of 4 or above. I even used an archive to search the old BFL forums, but nothing about it there either. Is it actually worth messing with? Does it double performance or some such?

Thanks!  Smiley
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 21, 2017, 08:18:07 PM
Received my seconds sticks yesterday have been messing with them and so far I'm very pleased with their performance they actually clock better than I expected. All the ones I've tested seem to work fine at 225MHz with a 80mm fan blowing on them. Thx!  Smiley
16  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] BFL Monarchs 500gh-700gh (thousands of them) on: December 18, 2017, 05:18:26 AM
Might be interested in a few as space heaters, but are these units made before Apr 2015 or on/after Apr 2015? The older ones before Apr 2015 will only work with a special windows only 64bit version of BFG miner, while the newer ones would work with a rasp pi.

Thx!
17  Economy / Goods / Re: Antminer S7 4.73TH/s Bitcoin Miner on: December 13, 2017, 03:29:45 PM
Where would these be shipping from? How much for shipping to the U.S.?

Thanks!
18  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Gauging Interest/Evaluation of hobby 2pac, Raspi3 setup on: December 12, 2017, 07:02:21 PM
I'd be interested in just the Pi 3 if you ever decide to part it out. Also would the shipping be US domestic or international?

Thanks! Smiley

Hey don't mean to throw the thread off topic, pm'd you a few times about the motherboard/cpu/H100 and wasn't sure if you received them.

Anyway just wanted to check if they're still available before I sent payment? Thanks! Smiley

Hi Kuschelweich. They are, and you may. *PLEASE* do not forget to pm or email me your shipping address. Payment address is in my sig.

Cheers.

Just sent payment and PM'd the info. Thanks! Smiley
