1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO miner B2: 7NM mining within reach? on: May 24, 2018, 10:33:29 AM
2 things, first the gmo mining contracts start at 500k, and it is contracts, you're not buying the miners. Theyre like the shipping containers for hut 8.
2nd, there has been some promising work with germanium, we may see 7nm chips sooner than we think. I agree q3 seems a bit optimistic, but maybe q1 or q2 2019.
I hope it's coming, we need more energy efficient mining equipment like yesterday.
2  Economy / Computer hardware / WTT ASIC EBIT 6.5 T W/PSU WILL TRADE FOR 2 RX580 8GB USA ONLY on: May 21, 2018, 05:37:01 AM
You give me the 2 580s, I give you the 6.5T ebang ebit asic, complete with psu and cord for USA 220 or 120 please specify. It runs pretty good, once in a while I walk by and the red light is on, just restart it, it clears. About once a month or so.
**** Important note - I don't want to take a beating on the shipping, obviously it's a lot cheaper to ship 2 gpus. I can  get a shipping estimate once I know where it's going. I still have the original box and Styrofoam packaging. I don't want to be bothered with any international shipping, so USA ONLY PLEASE. Seriously it's already complicated enough.

Will sell straight up for 650usd plus shipping,

2 rx580 8gb should only be around 650 usd. I'm embarrassed to tell you what I paid for this ASIC. Hint - it was December 2017. Spec is 910w. I could probably ebag it for 650-700 but then fees and whatnot would eat up a lot of that.

This will be my first transaction here, and I don't want to get beat, or ship the machine twice, but I'm willing to escrow 650 usd in btc, and upon receipt of the gpus, I will ship the ASIC. Once received and confirmed the escrow can release the btc back to me. You would also have to get the shipping $ to the escrow, once we work out the difference. I have no idea about escrow fees, if it's a lot we can split it, if it's a small amount I'll just pay it. I like phillipma, he's always been nice to me and answered all my noob questions without grinding me about it. I haven't asked him yet.

This was my first ASIC, and I'm actually very fond of it, I use it to test out new pools and new sha-256 coins like lcc or dgb without diverting too many Ts away from production. However, my electricity rates just went up 38% on 4/1, and after a few months it's apparent she needs a new home. I'm going to replace some of her earning power by putting 4 more 580s on the bamboo shoe rack rig. The 2 from you will be part of that.

She's a great starter kit, foot in the door, try it out before you start investing kdough. Experience for yourself the real life heat and noise! Thrill with every block your pool hits!

serious inquiries only please. No 570s.

I'm curious about the monthly stats, 4th column, "expected". It's been at 3.03 for 4 days now. Is it only going to update when we hit a block,  like the way may didn't show until a block? Surely in 4 days our expectations would rise.

Yes, when we hit the next block (assuming in the next 24 hours), it'll jump the expected to 4-5+...part of the reason why Feb looks so "good" is that we never found a last block during the end of that month, so the expected never changed.
Ah. That's illuminating thanks. I hadn't caught the Feb thing. That's April too then a little bit if I understand correctly.
Edit- no just one day for April

It's not like it's a ginormous difference, but it's important to get Noobs like me make the switch. Berating them seems counterproductive.
Oh, it's not just noobs.  Anyone that uses nicehash should be berated.

It's unfortunate that I am unable to express here in words the way I feel about you. A logical and reasoned response would divert the thread.

I'm doing better on average compared to nicehash.

I'm pretty sure that's not hard to do when you add everything up.

I sent my scout into kano pool to check out the math.
I was a skeptic.
Kano pool wins.
It's complicated,  but with the 5n value and the fees I'm doing better on average compared to nicehash.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you guys pay Taxes for profit? on: April 19, 2018, 05:06:57 AM
Someday I will sell my crypto and the US govt will take half of it from me in taxes. The money spent on electricity and gear is not deductible unless you form a corporate entity of some sort, and itemize them as deductions. But the income is taxable. I hope by 2020 they get it sorted out.

chrome extension. Just make sure to check off the display button on the stick itself, either off or on makes it show, I forget which right now. I think I had to turn it off to make it show on my pc.

Who cares. Just read what you want and write what you want. Doing stuff just to rank up is weird.

I'm really glad we hit the double,  but I'm a little frustrated that I hit the wrong sign in button exactly one time and now I can't even see the stuff that I could see before I signed up. Maybe you could set the threshold for total blackout to a higher number,  like two. Once seems a bit unforgiving.

If we're due a block a day, the btc gods owe us!

Jared you should check out the speedcore by achronix, an eFPGA. Expensive, but exciting in it's potential.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asrock, Asus or Gigabyte MOBO? on: April 05, 2018, 05:42:36 AM
I like the asus b250 mining expert. The pcie inputs are grouped into 6's, with a separate input from the psu to each group of 6. I'm using a single seasonic 1300w platinum psu right now but I've only got 4 cards on that rig so far. 2 more and then I'll start a new group with another psu. 3 groups of 6, 3 psus before I need another rig build. You can see that rig here, top shelf is slotted for cards as well. Also the pcie slots are not all jammed together, so your risers won't touch each other and short it.

18  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How does Tether (USDT) keep a stable price? on: April 05, 2018, 04:09:10 AM
With confidence, it works. Without, it fails. If we value it at 1 dollar, and everyone believes it's worth one dollar, and trades it as if it's worth one dollar, then it is worth one dollar. Btc is not backed by gold or fiat. Neither I believe is tether.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The bamboo shoe rack rig on: April 04, 2018, 09:09:56 AM
It's called mining hack, lol. But with $30 seems like too expensive (Amazon price), your cost looks better, my DIY wood rack costly around $15.

I love those saphires, I have 2 580 8gbs in my regular pc, I mine with them, my best cards by far.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The bamboo shoe rack rig on: April 04, 2018, 09:06:52 AM
I can't seem to get the pictures working. This is the shoe rack, but I paid a lot less for it, 22 bucks and I have prime so free shipping no tax. About 2 weeks ago.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H3GMHNG/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01H3GMHNG&pd_rd_wg=KwkZH&pd_rd_r=F0BV4TSH42N05PEMGF8F&pd_rd_w=s9f3O

Your pics aren't loading because:

1) You have to put the slash inside the [.img](without the dot).

2) Your imgur links have to be direct. In your case this means your image links should be https://i.imgur.com/B4WnA6Y.jpg and https://i.imgur.com/tamKtpb.jpg

If formatted correctly your images should display properly. I have posted them below for other people's convenience

Thank you.
