361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear on: August 07, 2021, 06:14:02 PM
Was about to add Start-Up, but I guess I'm a year late, since it was released 2020, this thread is quite neat and handy, I can't provide anything yet since the last series I've watched is Start-Up, will provide some films/series to this thread once I start bingeing some Netflix films/series/documentaries.  Wink
362  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin ever go down like 2018-2020 on: August 07, 2021, 04:55:42 PM
2018 had the biggest drop, not saying I want it to happen again but with how volatile the price is, it may or may not happen again, we'll never know, all of our answers are just speculations, we can't complete determine how the price will move, we can only observe, prediction won't be much of an accurate thing to rely on because of its volatility.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin tune on: August 07, 2021, 04:25:48 PM
Just a tune, it's actually kinda catchy not gonna lie, well since it's just a tune, you should work on this more, I'll put this as my ringtone on my phone for a week, it really does sound like a ringtone without any instrumentals, also, mind if I can hear the lyrics, is it "Bitcoin is for people, people is for money?", that's what I actually heard from your SoundCloud audio, anyways, adding some instrumentals and a full song would be great, good luck!  Grin
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using crypto to help the homeless - (for real - with pics!) on: August 07, 2021, 08:01:23 AM
Wow, it's been 2 year of you updating this thread, all I can say is how big of a commitment you are making for yourself, this is actually quite inspirational for the whole community, I might do this someday as well, I also skimmed through your hyperlinks, I wish I could do the same as well for my country, being generous is quite rewarding and having to commit like that is actually huge!
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some interesting ways you've introduced bitcoin to your friends? on: August 06, 2021, 07:34:40 PM
Since I am a proud gamer myself, I endorsed Bitcoin in a lowkey way by introducing my friends a game wherein Bitcoin is involved, if y'all know Axie Infinity, well, something similar like that but this game was years ago, so Bitcoin wasn't on this level yet, they were actually convinced with my words, they gave it a try and are now doing trading and are now trying out Crypto Blade (also a game that has been recently released), anyways, it's really up to your ideas on how you can actually convince your friends on engaging with Bitcoin.
366  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: August 06, 2021, 06:13:21 PM
I get the OP's idea about how the pandemic has given positive and negative effects to the world, economy-wise, not every country has the same state, it sucks to live in a third world country knowing the economy is already not looking good making it even worse because of COVID, nurses and doctors would have to work overtime almoat everyday, students and teachers would have to adapt right away with the online setup, it wasn't really that positive unless we'd think about it in a positive way and ignore the fact on how big the damage was actually, and also, not every country are experiencing the same, some are already making progress and some are really in shambles, just like in my own country.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing acceptance level - Cryptocurrency on: August 06, 2021, 05:20:19 PM
Soon enough, other countries would also get the idea of using cryptocurrency as their mode of payment for transportation, this is quite convenient and I'd say tax-free since you don't have to convert your Bitcoin to fiat anymore, a good innovation and I think this is quite handy for both passengers and the drivers as well.
368  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin wasn’t created to make you rich. It was created to make you free on: August 06, 2021, 11:01:21 AM
In my opinion, Bitcoin was created to set us free from the boundaries given by the government, therefore, Bitcoin gives us the freedom to do whatever we want without taxes or the government itself holding us back, too much freedom sometimes can be called greedy, therefore some have used this power to get themselves on top, it is true that Bitcoin gives us freedom, but I have to deny the fact that it wasn't also made to get put someone up from rags to riches, what is there to freedom when you can't use it for yourself and become rich or at least get yourself out of poverty (if you are in the state of poverty that is)? Isn't that what everyone's goal is? to expand and secure our future?
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Xiomi Portugal start accepting crypto on: August 06, 2021, 06:45:21 AM
Not to join in with the hype or be a Xiaomi fanboy but I strongly agree with Xiaomi's decision on accepting crypto as a mode of payment. Xiaomi is from China and the company itself has made its name after bringing out affordable but powerful smartphones, And now that they are accepting crypto as a new form of mode of payment, this can definitely accumulate more customers.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: August 05, 2021, 06:29:22 PM
I think it's the initial reaction for someone who has zero knowledge to fear Bitcoin, I myself back then used to have doubts about Bitcoin, later on realizing how legitimate it is and how big it will be in a few years, looking at it now, Bitcoin is still feared by some people, but with technology advancing and people slowly learning how important Bitcoin is or cryptocurrency alone to a lot of people.

I think these ordinary people can still learn about everything about Bitcoin, the lack of knowledge about the market and Bitcoin is one of the reasons why some people say that it's nothing but a scam, then they later on realized how rich they would be if they bought back then.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Idea of Bitcoin As A Religion on: August 05, 2021, 03:45:35 PM
But you can't deny that some people are probably way too indulged with Bitcoin that it has gotten to a rough point wherein they only do Bitcoin and Bitcoin alone everyday, Bitcoin as a religion would be hilarious, imagine altars and some rituals dedicated to Bitcoin, religion is definitely not the way to go, it will only complicate things that involves heavily on money, so in conclusion, it's a bad idea, but it is never impossible that some people may have been praising Bitcoin as something similar with God or a god.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google starts accepting Bitcoin ads on: August 05, 2021, 09:13:56 AM
Google has plenty of room for Bitcoin to be advertised, huge platforms like YouTube and other Google apps, it'll be a better opportunity for Bitcoin promoters to advertise their casinos and services, they'll reach millions of people since YouTube alone has 122 million daily active users.

It's been 3 years since Google has banned Bitcoin ads, and knowing that the ban has been lifted, it only means that Bitcoin is continuously expanding and the number of companies who are willing to advertise in Google alone defines how big Bitcoin and the market is going to be.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could crypto replace government? on: August 04, 2021, 02:35:21 PM
Let's say that it is possible, smart contracts are not just that efficient for the world to be used, but it cannot be impossible for such a scenario to happen in the future, we may think that we are already advancing technology at its fastest pace, but we cannot deny the fact that we are literally just starting from an evolution, technology has been growing faster and faster through the years, just imagine how faster it'll advance in the next 10 years, it may be possible but governments play a big role, crypto alone and smart contracts won't just do.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin solve the world's debt problem on: August 03, 2021, 05:14:15 PM
There is hope, and will always be, and when you mean by exacerbate, yes, it is possible that it could also produce problems, and may also produce debt, I do believe that Bitcoin can possibly be a solution, but will definitely not be the answer or main solution that everyone is looking for since it cannot solve the world's debt, it is what it is.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will everyone still believe in Elon Musk? on: August 02, 2021, 06:17:45 PM
I think it is hypocritical to scold Musk when he criticizes Bitcoin,
There is a big difference between criticism and FUD. What Musk has been doing is the later.

Quote
Elon Musk is just a person like everyone else.
No he is not. The influence he had on braindead idiots on Twitter was bigger than "everyone else" when they initially panic sold their bitcoins as he started his FUD campaign. Or when he started his shitcoin pump and dump schemes.

Quote
What do you think we are going to do?
People should first start using their own brains instead of looking to random idiots on the internet to tell them what to think and also they should start following and listening to actual experts who have knowledge about the topic they talk about. For example follow Andreas Antonopoulos on Youtube, Twitter, etc if you want valuable information about all aspects of bitcoin.

The reason why some of the "idiots" you may say fall in to his schemes is because of how uneducated the majority of people are when it comes to cryptocurrency, Musk is actually clever for pulling off such a stunt that it moved the market itself, and the clear reason why he was able to construct such a scheme is because he is aware on how much people would follow him in his trap.

377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Cryptocurrency has best future? on: August 01, 2021, 04:42:13 PM
The thing is, if you are planning to invest your money on cryptocurrency, first things first is to invest your own time in conducting a research for multiple platforms, there are cryptocurrencies wherein they provide short-term and some provide long-term, if you are a smart investor, you'll put in time to secure your profits rather than throwing your money away with whatever cryptocurrency you'll see.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting paid in Bitcoin vs getting paid in Fiat on: July 30, 2021, 05:45:18 PM
You can't say Bitcoin is better than Fiat, with its volatility, it's either you'll win or lose with your day-to-day payments, one thing I also want to clear out is that you can never say that you'll be able to avoid taxes with BTC as payments, there is no middleman but it is possible for your salary to still get cuts depending on the price.

And, in my own opinion, I honestly think that Fiat is more practical, especially if you have a job that pays you a huge amount, fixed price, the tax maybe a downside but you are sure with the amount you'll get, meanwhile, with Bitcoin, the enemy is the volatility, it could be a friend or an enemy, you can get an advantage once the price is going up, but with the price going up, it also must go down, therefore, the amount of Bitcoin you'll get heavily depends on its price, this is the downside with Bitcoin, but a risk I think a lot of people are willing to take.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: July 28, 2021, 07:24:27 PM
This post has been up for almost 6 months, the biggest problem here is that no matter how big technology is, a huge number of the population (of the world) isn't capable of learning or able to learn about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, some numbers are the people who are not familiar with technology, people who are too old for this, and people who are too stubborn to learn anything new about the future, and that is why it is impossible for everyone to know about Bitcoin, unless if it's us who are old, maybe in the next 50 or 60 years I guess.
380  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is key to the future of Twitter, Jack Dorsey says on: July 27, 2021, 05:04:22 PM
Big companies are willing to hop in the bandwagon, it's definitely the future, Twitter and Jack Dorsey looks like to produce something amazing out of this, a feature like a Twitter tip jar or super follows does look nice, and Twitter would expand even more, one of the heavily used social media platform everyday, I can only just imagine how big this will be in the future.
