41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DERO: Privacy + Smart Contracts + Lightning Fast Transactions on: February 06, 2018, 07:09:05 PM
What are the odds someone wants to write a noob tutorial of how to solo mine over a network. I see all this mine from the wallet.. not sure how exactly that works. How does one run something like geth or pirl and then point all their rigs at the pc running geth / pirl but to solo mine Dero?

It's probably not worth solo mining at this point, best to pool mine. It's a constant payout and easy to setup.

That depends on how big your farm is. If you have enough hashrate to find blocks on your own there is no point in paying a pool 1%

RX 570 an RX 580 dual mined well at 1250 core / 2000-2100 mem but with the ASICs coming out for sia lbry pascal an decred.. sia and lbry are negative roi.. decred an pascal aren't profitable enough now unless ur power is free. Pascal lite is probably profitable for a little bit but both pascal and pascal lite are changing algos to push ASIC off their coins. Right now it might be good to mine pascal lite an wait for the algo switch (which will probably be to cryptonote or cryptonight) but you can't sell pascal lite cuz they're only listed on Cryptopia and their wallet has been down for weeks.. so no where to sell them at the moment.

It probably isn't worth pushing back the linux version for dual mining capability. The Chinese released ASIC for Lbry, Pascal, Sia, and Decred so there isn't any point in dual mining anymore. If someone develops algos that play well with ethash in the future you'd probably need to start building from scratch anyways. The other tweaks are pretty sweet but once you get that linux version up an running talk to the ethOS guys an get them to incorporate your miner in their OS. I got 2 rigs on ethOS linux with 10 cards an 12 cards cuz windows don't play well with a lot of gpus on a single rig.. given the new mining boards coming out that can house 12+ gpus i think windows mining is going to be getting phased out by people running larger farms which i'm guessing is more your bread an butter target market. I'm running your miner on my desktop with 4 gpus an already wish the linux version was available for my other rigs. Faster hash rate, less fees, no dag switches. I get what you're saying about the dag switches I haven't watched enough to see the dev mining fee  to see if my cards still have to spin up an i'm only running this on my small system anyways so even if i could see it it wouldn't be nearly as obvious as my other systems with 3x-4x as many cards. I skimmed the commands an i don't recall seeing a feature similar to -powlim from claymore. That would be a good feature to have so you can tweak power consumption. I'm not a pro or anything but I noticed that my cards will run at say 30mh/s with powerlimit 20.. but if I lower powerlimit it will drop total power consumption without decreasing hashrate or stability so the cards will just use whatever power they can for the most part. It would be nice to have the feature incorporated in the miner so we don't have to go around reflashing cards to find the sweet spot using powerlimit % / tdp in bios.

If you really want to make your fee lower than claymore and increase the fees you receive i'd suggest running your dev fee less often but for longer. Claymore runs his every hour.. it takes a minute for a system with a lot of gpus to spin them all up making that 30-70 seconds less effective because 10+ seconds its spinning the cards up.. then when it cuts off i have to wait for my cards to spin up to start mining again. It makes his 1% fee a lot larger than 1% an produces less for him. If you ran your fee like once every 4-6 hours instead of every 90 minutes but you ran it for an equivalent time relative to the 90 min dev fee.. we'd all make more long term. You might end up with some of the gamer miners trying to cut the fee but the people running a lot of cards 24/7 won't. Since you're not spinning up all the large farms over n over again for a short burst an instead mined for a 1-2 minutes you'd probably pull more in fees and we'd pay less due to downtime switching to dev pools. Win win for everyone.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - 1st Stable fork of Ethereum on: January 26, 2018, 08:06:01 AM
Hash rate probably peaked 10 days ago with the price of Expanse before the recent crypto bloodbath. Difficulty is up 50% the last month so total hashrate is increasing.. unless you're one of those people that claim Bitcoins crashing because it fell to the price it was last week kind of person. Cashing in on the recent ICO crazy.. you're right they went all out with that massive 1.5 million ICO fund raiser lol. Honestly thats relatively small in the ICO world. Spending 33% of that to get on an exchange is the dumbest idea ever. How is tokenlabs going to be worth more than what you bought it for a month ago if they waste a large portion of what they raised to get listed on an exchange? If they sold you tokenlabs for say 1.00 a coin.. then they wasted .33 cents of that to get the coin listed.. why would someone pay you more than 66 cents for it when they haven't had enough time to grow tokenlabs into something?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: January 26, 2018, 01:15:14 AM
having issue starting wallet "daemon ahs closed unexpectedly, goodbye"

advice on fixing this?

I had issues with running Lbry while mining using Ethman remote monitor to see mining activity (claymores -mport -3333). The port for Ethman was using 3333 to locally access mining logs and Lbry needed that port to function. I switched mining monitor to port 3332 / -mport on the pc i was trying to open Lbry and it started up no problem. So if you're mining / using Ethman on port 3333 while trying to run Lbry it will give an error an exit.

They rated Megacoin higher than Expanse.. annnndddd they have no credibility lol
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PASL]-[PASCAL Lite]-[PascalLite just hit $1 million market cap milestone!] on: January 21, 2018, 10:38:34 AM
China just made 2 ASICs that basically destroys dual mining for GPUs.. They got ASICs for Siacoin, Decred, Lbry, Pascal, Pasl.. I bet claymore is unhappy as its going to dramatically reduce his income. 2% on dual mining 1% single mining.. His income just got halfed unless someone creates ASIC resistant versions of these coins algorithms that plays well with dual mining Ethash in a similar way.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: January 19, 2018, 05:44:47 AM
They're already accepting preorders for them.. 40gh/s 400w lbry asic. If you haven't noticed Lbry (what I was dual mining) difficulty went from 400,000 to 1,000,000 to 1,400,000 within a week. I'm guessing that is the asic company testing their new asics before they started accepting preorders. The profitability went from like almost 2.00 per rx 580 per day to around 10 cents within a week. Its the Baikal Giant-B. Side note.. Suprnova already changed Lbry page to point Lbry asics towards xyz so I'm pretty sure they're legit.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: January 19, 2018, 04:36:27 AM
Is there any plans to hard fork now that china is releasing LBRY ASIC units or is this the end of GPU mining for LBRY? They haven't even added to many ASIC units to the network and profitability for GPU mining is negative ROI vs Power now

If they only raised 1.5 million for token labs why would any sane investor want 33% of the raised money spent on getting listed on an exchange? That is literally insane. You bought in on the ICO so the development team can create a business with the money increasing the value of your coins. Do you think they'll grow Token Labs faster thus creating more value for the initial investors by wasting a large portion of the funds raised just so you can unload your coins? I didn't invest in the ICO but if I invested in a business an i heard they did something that stupid with the money raised I would dump everything and run for the hills. Ella was created by some guy who was part of ETC I think who was irritated by the whole infighting an just went to do his own thing.. I suppose like the Cardano guy did. There are a few ETH forks going on.. Pirl is another one but i think they take a rather steep developer fee from every block found instead of the 10 million premine on smart contracts for future development. I view it more like Mobile carriers.. even in the US there is room for lots of different operators to thrive (the bigger ones just buy out the smaller ones to keep the oligopoly intact but the market could sustain many operators profitably) Crypto is a world wide phenomenon. There will likely be room for quite a few smart contract platforms to operate efficiently if the smaller ones can find nitchs in the market. I don't know what everyone elses plans / investing strats are in the Crypto world but i'm betting on ETH forks EXP in particular.. A little Pirl, a little ETH, an likely a little ELLA in the future.. but mainly EXP.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ETC ETP DBIX SUMO PASL] FairPool: Realtime stats, Profit calc, Instant payout on: January 16, 2018, 08:56:06 PM
Well I had Pascal Lite coins auto pay out 12.25 at a time.. the last payment was for 4+ coins. I'm guessing the owner of fair pool just closed down his doors and sent the balances out to the specified wallets. That sucks cuz there aren't many Pascal Lite pools to pick from.

You should consider adding pools for dual mining. Preferably Lbry and Pascal lite so we don't have to dual mine at other pools paying 1-2% fees lol 2% is ridiculous imo.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: January 14, 2018, 10:27:42 AM
I mined a few thousand musicoin and requested a manual payout to my newly downloaded musicoin windows wallet a few days ago. Miningpoolhub says its been confirmed for a day on transactions page but my wallet doesn't show any balance. The musicoin wallet address is the same address miningpoolhub paid out to so i'm confused where my musicoins went. I don't know who runs miningpoolhub or how I go about finding where my coins really are but any help would be appreciated. My wallet shows its sync'd so not sure why the balance is still 0.00

Figured it out - Had the Musicoin .5 beta wallet... Downloaded the .8 version and sync'd it an coins are there. Maaah Bad lol Gonna go hang out in the dunce corner now as punishment.. good day
